monster and rockstar's nation wide rollout.

Is Fallout London worth playing now? Im certain downgrading my steam version is going to break all my mods and game save. Not that I dont mind starting over.

Well, they failed in that department too since Fallout was a niche franchise no normalfag knew about until Fallout 3. Even POS failed and that game was pretty much tailor made for dude bros and teenage boys who owned an xbox or a PS2.

Don't bother downloading it from the official source, go get it from Fit Girl. That one is already set up, ie you can keep your Fallout 4 folder and your London folder. All you do is hit play(that is, after downloading all the mods and fixes).
Word of advice: Go to your documents and backup your Fallout 4 settings folder(for me it's under "My Games" folder). London WILL override those settings and break your core game. You should make a folder for Fallout 4 and a folder for Fallout London, once you start London for the first time the game will set the settings automatically. At that point switch between them as you please, depending on if you're playing London or Fallout 4. Lastly, you will have to go into your appdata folder(you will have to look up how to do that if you don't know) and backup your Fallout 4 settings there, otherwise your load order for mods will get fucked up. Again, back that up somewhere safe and when you go back to playing Fallout 4, paste those settings back in. Likewise, if you get tired of Fallout 4 and want to play London again, make sure you copy those files somewhere safe and then paste these in the appdata folder. You essentially have two different games at this point, each with their own settings and load orders, you just have to remember which files should be in their given main Fallout 4 folder as the game only accepts one set, or you will screw up your respective game. Confusing at first, but you will get hang of it.
This is not a suggestion btw, unless you backed up everything in your Fallout 4 folder onto an external drive. London irreversibly overrides certain data that is essential to play Fallout 4, ie you will never ever be able to play the core game again unless you do a fresh install. Be smart and back your games up, treat London as a completely new title rather than a simple overhaul mod.

fuck, i'll have to wait until i get tired of FO4 which'll be pretty soon since all the neat alt-start and modern weapons mods are broken. the only mods i've seen work are the big boob butt slider ones.

Don't worry, it's way less confusing than it sounds. I do have to stress that you should never cross beams, Fallout 4 settings in London can break the game and force a fresh re-install. Conversely, London settings loaded when starting Fallout 4 can break your game as well. You can keep both games on your hard drive, just make sure to only have one active playthru of either game and switch files in the main Fallout 4 documents/appdata folder appropriately, since they both use the same folder for checking data and keeping savefiles.
Before you ask, no there is no way the devs could have made this more convenient. If there was an installer that did everything for you, then you would technically be pirating part of Bethesda's product(base Fallout 4 assets) and that would open the devs to legal action and DMCA from Bethesda. How the installer currently works is it hijacks your Fallout 4 game and replaces existing data + adds new data to make London playable, therefore you need to own the base copy of Fallout 4 for the mod to work. Like I said, don't even bother with the official installer and pirate the mod, everything should be set up already hassle free.

Debugging New Vegas whilst trying to mod it is a huge pain, I've got a pretty big modlist myself and every 20 minutes I experience these 2 minute-long lag spikes, and when I say random and lag spikes, I mean out of nowhere and going down to like 5 FPS, mouse lag included. I can chalk this up to the game compiling shaders, or loading assets, but when I open the Pip-Boy the game returns to a smooth 60 FPS. The thing is, there's one specific area on the world map that consistently lags for me (Goes down to 10-15 FPS) but when I open the Pip-Boy the FPS remains the same.
I've got plenty of technical know-how myself and I've debugged other games but New Vegas has no easy-to-access debug mode that you don't need dev tools to access, I guess that's just part and parcel of trying to run it on an engine made in 1997.

Never had this problem before, must be a technical problem on your end and nothing with the game. People who run 4K texture mods and other graphical enhancements do tend to run into lower FPS/lag spikes, so I would remove these first thing and check if the game works better.
I've actually had this problem in London and one particular mod in Fallout 4, but that is a strictly engine related problem and is a sign of a lack of knowledge on the modders part. In short, Fallout 4 GECK is much more temperamental than the FNV/F3 version of the geck, if you remove something from the map in a wrong way or even place it in the wrong way, it fucks up the entire area and you suffer horrific lag spikes on even the best machines. This is what happens with a lot of amateur mods who don't know how the GECK works, in London's case a lot of green areas like the country side lag the game because the grass adds "invisible" lag spikes due to how foliage works in this engine, especially in higher fidelity. Pepper the area with high quality grass, bushes and trees, and you get single digit frames. For Fallout 4, it is usually a modder not placing something properly or haphazardly removing something from the map, and similarly you get "invisible" lag spikes from a confused game that tries to parse the cell in the wrong way. As far as I know, this isn't the issue for F3 or New Vegas, or at least I didn't encounter this issue there.

It's definitely a mod on my end, the only major texture mod I have installed is NMC and I've ran modlists with it that worked just fine, and outside the lag the game runs just fine. I should note that the lag only goes away when: 1. Entering dialogue with an NPC (but not always), or entering a different cell. The lag only strikes when I'm out on the world map, you said earlier that the newest TTW is buggy as hell and I do have it installed, so maybe that's the problem.

Thing is, I'm sure it's not NMC. Like I said, I've ran the game with it before without any major bugs, the lag I'm experiencing is sudden and out of nowhere, and only occurs on the world map. Maybe it's a weather mod, I think that weather stops when you're in the Pip-Boy and and the only weather mods I have installed are Desert Natural Weathers + Sandstorms and True Weathers TTW.

I had it too and it seems to be a bloating issue, uninstalling most texture and weather mods fixed it. I mean, what else could cause it to do that? My only other guess could be those face/race mods that people seem to love. Last resort would be to manually disable them one by one or in chunks to see which one causes the issue.

Even then, as @Prophetic Spirit said, lighting is way more important and will make you feel way more immersed than any weather/texture mod will.

I do have FCO 2.31 installed which I know VNV doesn't recommend, but it's only as a base for New Vegas Redesigned 3 Reloaded, and NPC's with the FCO faces don't naturally generate, and I'm pretty sure VNV's referring to the 3,0+ versions of the mod. I'm gonna try clinging to NMC for now since I spent 3 hours generating terrain LOD for it and more likely than not it isn't the issue.

Its unfortunately Desert Natural Weathers that's the most likely cause. I was having a ton of weird issues with rainbow paint instead of red paint on my screen when I got shot and it turns out DNW was the culprit, and a lot of other people have had similar issues with DNW causing that.

Nah, I can't hate hate Todd just by nature of him being one of the few old guard left there, my problem with Todd is that he and his team just need tard wranglers desperately. Todd has wonderful ideas but we all know what happens when Beth has no restraint.

I also don't think its fair to hope for a game flopping. Because I know TES6 wont be a Hunt Down the Freeman situation where despite being dogcrap its still hilarious. Starfield is just soul crushingly bland and the humor derived from it are things not even exclusive to it as a game.

I don't want to put myself out there as saying that Beth can't do wrong. Quite the contrary. Honestly the best way to say how I feel about Bethesda is to say its like how Cass feels about the NCR. I hope Beth is scared, I hope that Starfield getting panned as much as it did scares them enough to get their shit together. as for the show, I don't really see a ton of Beth influence in the there anyways, so to me its a Amazon product through and through. All that said I don't care to see Beth fail because I know what their capable of at the top of their game.

Who knows? Maybe with all the political/corporate restructuring going on everywhere recently we'll see a return to form. That said though, while I'm all in favor of Beth getting wranglers, I don't what those wranglers to be from MS. But what can you do?

Bethesda now are retarded nigger cattle that don't have a clue what they're doing, that goes for Todd as much as the new hires. The presentation by Will Shen was enlightening, it goes to show that even at their best, Bethesda was always more lucky than talented, and that only became apparent when the last of their talent left by the time 76/Starfield came out.
