Fallout series

TES6 has reportedly only just left pre production. I'd say late 2028 at the very earliest so in 2035 or so a new Fallout game might come out assuming they start production immediately after TES6 launches.

Then again with the mediocrity of Fallout 4 and Starfield being outright awful maybe it's a good thing Fallout is a dead franchise.

Fallout New Vegas modding scene sure is something, huh?
So good that you can't even find it on Nexus anymore!
In case you're wondering, this is from the same dev who made Wartrash

Speaking of which, I had a lot of trouble just finding this video on youtube, so I'm gonna rant about how dogshit it's algorithm driven search results are now:

The mod is called "Song of Tears". Alright, let's search for "Fallout Song of Tears"
youtube search results.png
Nope, just some shitty radio song playlists. Let's try again and add "mod" at the end
youtube search results01.png
I got the worst, most dogshit content I have ever seen: Shorts, clickbait, coomer thumbnails, poorly drawn "memey" thumbnails. Maybe people complaining about youtube content a few pages back had a point.
Well, I remember that the video was a multi-parter so let's add "Part 1" at the end
youtube search results02.png
Same results, but somehow even worse. I know I got the name of the mod right, so what gives?
Let's specify that we're looking for "Fallout New Vegas" content here and see what we get
youtube search results03.png
Same shit, but tailored for New Vegas search algorithm.

At that point I just searched for "Song of Tears" and got some unrelated music videos. Thru dumb luck, I remembered that the video was titled something along the lines of "Let's Endure" so I typed that in and FINALLY got the videos in the top row, along with absolute algorithm driven nonsense right below it

I fucking hate youtube, I genuinely hope the kids of people working there troon out and that their parents die a painful death. Incompetence or downright malice of this level has to be limited to this generation, every single one of these pests that successfully breeds is a black mark against the next generation.

Starfield WAS Fallout 5 before they turned the early builds into Todd's dream game from 30 years ago. I doubt there is anything beyond a few tech demos of whatever Fallout 5 will turn out to be and even then, I can guarantee you they will try and shoehorn this shitty TV show into it. There is no reason to shill it as much unless you want this to be the starting point for your fans and your new(fake) lore going forward.

Who is your favorite Fallout character and why is it President John Henry Eden?
Within the framework of Fallout 3's background- which is full stop idiotic, it's an Emil production, but let's be generous- he is probably the best non-human character not featured in New Vegas in some regard.
I mean, really, an AI that basically brute-forced sentience, it was one of the better tropes for Emil to put to use, and the various routes the conversation can take makes me think that he was either written VERY early, or not by Emil at all.
Autumn is better though since he actually evolves the Enclave's outlook, which is the only time in the series this ever happens, and there's a slew of other characters (nonhuman or otherwise) that are better from even the other 3D titles.
Except Fallout 4, then there's only a few of those, and all the ones from the base game are nonhuman.

It'd be better if it languished in disuse, but unfortunately we're in the Really Fucking Shitty timeline.

Original fanbase and the Bethesda tourists hated each other for years, but there is a reason why the line in the sand was drawn with the release of the TV show.
As far as I am concerned, Bethesda's games aren't canon and neither is the TV show. I don't give a shit what they do, since none of it will ever impact the timeline of the franchise. I would sooner think up of some headcanon why Outer Worlds is canon to Fallout, as some sort of sequel to NV in the timeline where House makes space travel possible. Fan made content is the only thing decent the franchise has these days and Bethesda has nothing to do with it.

Re: President Eden
Enclave is actually really well portrayed in Fallout 3. Problem? The game barely tells you about the most important aspect of theirs in Fallout 3: The internal civil war. There is a reason why they're so disorganized and ineffective, Autumn has a massive bone to pick with Eden and by the time you get captured in Raven Rock, they don't see eye to eye anymore. When Autumn overrides Eden's orders, he creates a massive schism within the ranks and Eden declares open war against his own men. Why is that? Well, Autumn, as much of an asshole as he is, sees the purifier as means to take over the region and pacify it. He's basically doing what Enclave, as the remnants of pre-war government, should be doing all along and bringing back law and order, using the water as a bargaining tool to make the population bend the knee. Your average wastelander won't care if they get less rights and have to live under Enclave's heel as long as they get fed, they get water and safety in return. What's the alternative, becoming a slave? Living in a slum like Rivet City or Megaton? Dying out in the wastes to god knows what? Not like they had any political freedom before that point anyways. None of what Autumn does is pretty, but we can assume that he's not a genocidal maniac considering that this is why he has second doubts about Eden, who represents the original mission of The Enclave from Fallout 2 and is trying to do what Richardson was doing before The Oil Rig was blown up.
In a better written game, this would be the jump-off point to join sides with Eden and truly make The Enclave a joinable faction if you wanted to genocide everybody, destroying Brotherhood in the process. Autumn would be the alternative if you wanted to bring back government to the people, both sides have good reasons to side with them even if just for roleplaying purposes. Alas, Bethesda made it known that the reason why the story is so streamlined is because they were tired of "Oblivion's nuanced narrative"(lol) and wanted something more simple, so what they did was make Star Wars with Brotherhood being the rebels and Enclave being generic stormtroopers. Oh, and Todd added a mecha in there too, probably in honor of his toy transformer from his childhood or something. Shame that barely anyone will notice the schism in the ranks since Enclave are portrayed as generic goons you shoot on sight, if you want to you can even see how divided their ranks are by hacking into terminals at random outposts to see that soldiers and officers were basically send out in the middle of nowhere with no orders, hoping they're killed off. Probably Autumn loyalists Eden made sure to keep as far away from the real field work as possible, that being genocide camps where they round up random wastelanders and put them thru purity checks. You can guess what happens to them if they test negative, I guess not everyone at Raven Rock was up for that.

Oh well, if anyone wants a nuanced take on The Enclave they can at least download America Rising 2 mod for Fallout 4. Fans are doing what Bethesda won't, as they always have.

To be fair, Emil is no worse than the writers of Fallout 2 in this regard.

One of the major disappointments of FO2 for me, looking back, is how comically evil the Enclave is. There's none of the nuance of the Master or the BoS from the first game, they're just evil imbeciles with a retarded plan that doesn't make a shred of sense.

The Enclave is probably the only aspect of FO3 that is in line with the original two Fallout games.

They wouldn't seen themselves as evil though or their plan as imbecilic, it's supposed to be a critique of eugenics and racial purity, their plan isn't really retarded either, they want to use the pure un radiated Vault population to properly resettle the wasteland. I've seen redditors claim that Fo2's main story is an anti American/anti White allegory to the colonization of the US with the player being a tribal fighting the US government who want to try and "genocide" the native wastelanders. I can see elements of that though I would be hesitant to call the writers/devs anti White, their motive could have been just to model a historical underdog story and critique those particular elements rather than the entire US.

You may want to rewatch the Fallout 2 intro cutscene where it shows an Enclave squad massacring a whole vault.

It's not. Tim Cain was watching too much X-Files and it turned his brain to mush. He wanted to include a plot about "US government bad." It's also where the retarded retcon of the vaults now being zany social experiments comes from. Maybe there was a bit of that, but the Enclave is also shown to be multiracial and with female troops.

Look back at FO1 - the narrative goes out of its way to give plausible reasons for why the Master and the Brotherhood of Steel behave as they do. The Master genuinely thought he was helping humanity adapt to a new, hostile world, while the BoS were insular and hostile to outsiders because they didn't want them to abuse technology like people before the bombs fell did.

Now compare it to the Enclave - nothing about them makes sense. They're out to rid the Wasteland of "muties", but then systematically slaughter vault residents that have not been exposed to the FEV. Even the people that got exposed to the FEV don't really show any obvious aberrations, so what exactly are the Enclave trying to accomplish here?

My point is that they're a completely one-dimensional faction with no nuance, they're there to be stupid and irredeemable, in complete contrast to what Fallout 1 was going for. Despite me loving FO2 a lot, it's a deeply flawed game in terms of writing and worldbuilding, and it really shows.

A good writing team would have given them the Legion treatment - barbaric, violent, savage, but also making a very good point.

Honestly, with how the main quest is written(your village is destroyed, your people kidnapped, they quite literally want to kill everyone else in the world) there is no way to really add any choice of siding with them, feeling sympathetic for them or even give you an option of joining the Enclave, seeing as to them you're some contaminated primitive ape. Recall how Richardson talks down to you when he finds out you're not one of his men.
Enclave in 2 were okay baddies, but they were never going to be a proper faction you can join. Main quest in F2 overall wasn't all that good, it was just a McGuffin search that served as an excuse to explore the entire game world, which is where all the good content came from. The talking deathclaws, the conflict between scientologists and chink chonk chinese scientists, honestly this all sounds like something that would come up in a Bethesda game. Even from the very start we're off on very shaky footing since everybody has to go thru The Temple of Trials, a dungeon that isn't just awful in execution but makes no sense as to how it was even build in the first place. It certainly isn't a pre war ruin. Goes to show how solid the rest of the game is if you can overlook serious flaws like this.
I believe Enclave should have definitely been fleshed out in Fallout 3, and it looks like plans for that were there to Bethesda's credit, but at some point there were massive story rewrites(like your dad originally being turned into a Super Mutant and Rivet City being invaded by Enclave, you later had to return there to find a power source that is never mentioned in the final game to boot up Liberty Prime with the entire city being occupied by Enclave forces and city refugees spending rest of the game within The Citadel) and Enclave's civil war plotline was half-forgotten. Makes me wonder if any of Broken Steel is cut content from that early stage where Enclave was a bit more nuanced, including the option to destroy The Citadel(not canon of course, but it's still funny to see the horrified reaction of the last few standing Brotherhood members impotently seething and swearing vengeance on you).
I mean, yeah, basically, but then you have to play Fallout 4.
Same could be said about London, but in both cases they're worth playing thru at least once.

They don't slaughter Vault 13's population, they kidnap them and take them to the rig. The shooting was mainly for dramatic effect for the player and lore wise was to intimidate the vault into immediate submission.

Debatable, but compared to the endless alternatives that are hot garbage, i'll agree to that with some reservations.
Namely, you need a melee overhaul for London, at the very least. Has there seriously not been a single porting of Skyrim's melee forward?

Melee is garbage in Fallout 4 and that hasn't changed in London. You're gonna be running small guns with some big guns and energy weapons thrown in there towards the end game. Melee is only viable very early on when you don't have the ammo yet, enemy health sponges up way too quickly to do anything about it.
I do recommend Wasteland Imports mod to help with that, since it lets you craft poisons like in New Vegas.

Faggot crying about another faggot. Also he talked about a mod called Children of the Wasteland and use it as a point against Mutant Mods. I've heard of the mod with a bunch of conflicting information, but from what I can gather it wasn't a CP mod but "people" (probably from haram sites like AllTheFallen) used it as a basis for far more questionable mods, and so it was removed off Nexus. So already this guy can't research and thus his video is even less reliable, then again these types of videos are usually from people who want to drama farm. Most likely out of jealousy as OP mentioned how MM is the most popular NV content creator (not sure if that's even true), and guess what OP is failing at being?
That being said, some genuine issues were made such as not paying his editor, shit talking his editor, shit talks people who work for him, potentially AI generated scripts, AI generated voice...of his own voice (lol), and other shit. So shit start of the video but it gets more notable as it goes on.
And then he ruins it by whining about MM's dicksword being too based (he literally used the "muh neo-nazies, muh isms"), complaining about MM complaining about Lucy from the TV show not being an actually cool character, whining about MM calling all furries pedophiles, complaining about MM wanting to be a role model for males (lol seriously), and that's where I stopped. I'm not sure what else he talked about but I can see him trooning out in the future so I won't waste my time summarizing the rest of his videos over mostly "nothing burgers."

Isn't this the faggot in a lot of my recent youtube search results? Figures he's a drama whore, there is no such thing as a youtube shorts creator that isn't a lolcow to some degree
Edit: So what I can gather from the first minute of this insufferable video is that this faggot "mortyyy" made a hitpiece video against a content slop creator "Mutant Mods" because he shit on his videos, where mortyyy's Fallout looks like shit(it does, what did he do to that poor game?). His "evidence" was that he covered a mod that lets you play as a child, and that equals child porn. Wanting to play as a little kid might be weird, but I seriously doubt it is "cp" by itself, so unless I am missing something, this is just a standard cancelling attempt from a leftist faggot. I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt when he calls someone "problematic" in the video title, altho "lazy" is rather accurate.
If someone wants to suffer thru the rest of the video and I got something wrong, feel free to tell me.
Here is his channel if you want to take a quick loot at the content our hero mortyyy regularly puts out
morty.png
As you can see, it is the exact same kind of low quality slop as Juicehead or, ironically enough, Mutant Mods puts out. Hypocrite much?
In case you're wondering, I clicked on two of these videos to see if he links his social media. No such luck, was expecting a BlueSky account but he only lists a discord handle. New Vegas slop creator on discord, shocking I know.

Thus- an overhaul. I think i got halfway down that rabbit hole before going 'wait, this is a FROST list, melee shields don't exist in any of these mods, why am i bothering?' and tossing it to the side.
Can't be assed to track down the mods again because Nexus fucked up their search UI so bad that i actually fucking can't at the moment.
Though the ballistic shields might have been useful against Fort Fenway if i hadn't gone and gotten power armor.
Faggot crying about another faggot.
It's a day that ends with Y.
I'm glad i turned off watch history and use third party players nowadays.
Y'know, when youtube isn't breaking compatibility with its own fucking applications to own the chuds.
