I do not believe that the C.L will get anything beyond being mentioned
There were leaked set photos showing off legion (or at least legion-esque) soldiers, So they'll probably show up in some manner in season 2.

There is also the fan theory that, while 100% not true, was actually kinda funny in that the Brotherhood of Steel in the Fallout TV show had actually merged with the Legion.

Not only it goes against Bethesda's writing style but the modern gaming landscape would never entertain even having a complex "evil" faction you can join and that gives detailed explanations on why they are the way they are because people cant tell fiction apart from reality anymore and thus this would be supporting "evil people" IRL.
What's really funny is that, despite Strong (mutie companion from Fo4, for those that didn't bother playing that one in-depth) being of the 'evil Orc but scifi' bent- he's also smart enough to set it aside and learn from humanity because he knows his strain's way of doing things isn't going to cut it in the end.
He's still a fucking retard due to the companion system in that game, but he's got the spirit. Thank god you can't romance the fucker, unlike ~80% of the other companions in that game.

Do people really not remember how stupid this is? *This* is good writing but Fallout 3 Eden's writing is bad? Fallout 4's synths are bad?
The whole last chapter of NV always disappoints me, as much as I love the game in general. It feels rushed, you just go to Hoover Dam, have the same fast paced fight and regardless of which path you choose, it all feels the same to the point where I don't even know why my choice even matters. To get a different slideshow and narration? While I'm at it, I actually don't like that there's no endgame content. It worked better with first games to me, maybe because they were overall different games altogether. NV ending like it does screams "rushed" one more time.

(That said, endgame content isn't that great in Fo3/Fo4 either, so that alone wouldn't have fixed much.)

The hilarious thing is that Fallout 4 got the settlement treatment because one of the more popular mods in Fallout: New Vegas in terms of new mechanics in gameplay was Wasteland Defense, where you build a settlement and then defend it from attacking raiders. You can look up videos of it and see comments of people saying "settlement building should just be in the game." Include people loving hearthfire in Skyrim and you have suits at bethesda saying "this is what the people want."
Not gonna lie, I actually somewhat enjoyed Fo4 settlement building, at least its idea. It's definitely not a "fallout game" anymore, and probably my own personal taste in video games, but I like that it adds aspect of actually "living in the wasteland" beyond just shooting, looting and fetching. On the other hand, it's way too easy to collect resources, building and management are extremely low tier if you're actually familiar with building simulators and tycoons, the wasteland survival simulation is also pretty weak apart from avoiding to get shot on survival mode.
In the end what essentially happened was a game that tried to be a "Fallout settlement building survival simulator" failed at both being a good Fallout game and a good settlement builder/wasteland survival simulator. Not mentioning Preston, that's a given already lmao.

I'm still not over Bethesda turning supermutants into retards. It's so lazy.

I can come to terms with it by just imagining that just about everyone on the East Coast is a horribly irradiated bundle of gene soup that instantly turns them into the retard mutants. (Ignoring the fact that the effects of FEV are supposed to be random unless you're exposing people to a specific strain. It turned Harold into a tree and the Master into a blob, it doesn't just turn everyone into giant orcs, Todd!)
The guy from the institute who got turned into a mutie retained his faculties, as did Fawkes.
Basically, the mutants in Bethesdas games are retards because everyone in Bethesdas games are retarded mutant freaks already.

Nothing is pointing out that the Legion ending is canon so it could be possible this is a raider/remnants group.

Then again, I dont think NV was ever meant to have a canon ending and even if one ending turns out to be canon, it doesnt seem like it changed that much in the long run didnt it? The whole area looks the same at best and actually worse in some places.

But then again-er, the amazon series made it clear that the lore is bendable as a wet noodle with absolute total Bethesda blessing so absolutely anything could happen.

Assuming the Legion does play some sort of role, remember, this is Bethesda territory, so dont expect much depth out of these guys nor consistency to how they used to be.

I wont discard the chance this is a flashback or maybe some recording of the events of NV either.

Edit: When I think about all the circunstances and leaked photos, the Mojave's current state could only be justified if the Anarchy without a securitron army is canon. And I doubt the courier will make an appearance (if anything, we better hope they dont) and at best there will be the implication they left for the Big MT

Funnily, the least fleshed-out questchain has the most change in the final fight. It makes Legion runs not totally mind-numbing to do, at least.

It's worth noting that the West Coast (DC) strain is somewhat explicitly fucked to begin with, with Fawkes and Leo being complete outliers of it. It doesn't help that outside of 101 malingerers, there's no pure untampered Humans in the DC area- outside of the original batch of 87 (who were likely exposed to low doses before full ones to begin with) and possibly the remnants of 106 (who by the time of 87 opening, probably would have interbred with wasters to the point of being nonviable).
They're total retards (ie: 'dumdums') for good reason, yes.
The guy from the institute who got turned into a mutie retained his faculties
That one was a specific, targeted strain (which didn't even fully work, since it turned him into a super mutant against his intentions). Institute tards are probably the only viable group in the Commonwealth (outside of 81) for dipping.
This being said, the Institute strain is definitely a bit smarter to start with.
It's a shame his quest doesn't have some fail condition short of the player just not going through the relevant labs on purpose.
[THE SHOW]
If it wasn't for them being fag worshippers i'd say they'd turn them all into unironic fags before making them evaporate.
Expect the Empty to be an even bigger crater, though- no improvement allowed ever by Bethesda mandate.

“Noooo stalker child you must make a 4 hour video essay regarding why the glint on Lanius’s armor ruins the finale of New Vegas before I shall deign to notice you.”

You saying the writing is “good, no worse than the rest of the game” is such a disservice to the actual good writing of the game I can’t even begin to describe the issues. And “wall of text” it was less than two hundred words longer than the initial comment I was replying to and addressed two points.

You look like a massive retard. Like incapable of observing the contextual clues the Lanius dialogue lacks that would make it an actual effective bit of writing. You’re downplaying how severe a fumble it is by saying “it’s not some grand finale, and is actually really grounded.” It’s excessively extravagant. Every faction in the region has a finger in the pie. The status of the dam determines countless things beyond whose flag sits above the Colorado. Will Vegas maintain independence? Can House be given the opportunity to reach for the stars? Would an independent state really be that bad? This includes the additional fact you could sabotage the dam. Sure the Legion may be routed, but is there even any opportunity for expansion if the NCR cannot secure electricity for the region? It’s an excessively big moment and if you can’t recognize that you might be thick.
If you had something good to say, you wouldn't be sperging out like this. Finish your video essay on the revolutionary topic nobody has discussed within 15 years of that game's lifetime and stop this womanly passive aggressive temper tantrum.
There is also the fan theory that, while 100% not true, was actually kinda funny in that the Brotherhood of Steel in the Fallout TV show had actually merged with the Legion.
I'm thinking they will actually go with that, mostly because it's absolutely retarded and "subverts expectations"(like Vault Tec wanting to le nuke the world because crapitalism bad, ignoring the chinese elephant in the room fully) so I am sure they will go with the worst and dumbest possible option.
Not that I care, this shit ain't canon and it's about as worthy of discussion as BOS aka POS for the PS2 and Xbox was when it released.

Video on a possibly based mod. No commentary from what little I saw, just showcasing this mod.
"Hotbox is a nobody, even his nickname is gay." :story: The Youtuber seems to actually have a sense of humor, during the uh..."Suffraghouls" section, when combat starts you just hear some AI song and I swear to God one of the lyrics is "my pimphand is strong" when fighting feminist ghouls. Either the video or mod, this is fun to watch.

saw that video and it looked so eclectic. crazy how gameplay mods can make it so you're basically playing a different game.

This is a hood classic, the comments from over a decade ago are a treat to read as well (a nice window to the franchise almost 2 decades ago)

Found this. Couple months old, but I figured some people here could use a laugh:

I didnt know Fallout had a beach episode and yet here we are.
Preston always sounds like they just took his first take of the day. Nothing he says has any oomph.

He sounds bored, which Im very sure wasnt the intention.
