One of the oldest memes in discourse about Fallout 3 is to post a screenshot of Megaton with the caption "What do they eat?" It devolves into more memes like posting photos of various settlements in Fallout and saying "where do they shit" and the autists in particular seethe about this with arguments back and forth about Megaton making no food, caravans supplying it, water being drawn that could be used for indoor farming and on and on. My post was just saying it would be funny if someone at Bethesda just placed piles of nonsensical corn everywhere because doing so would make said autists seethe even more.
You can see the effectiveness of it by how the person below you immediately responded calling me a moron for making a joke and saying i'm the malding one.

There isn't anything more to it than that, but feel free to write more in-detail explanations as to how Fallout 3 is a badly written piece of shit with no worldbuilding, saves me the time(and I can do that all day, believe me). "Oh, the game is awful, that's the joke! You're just mad if you point it out!" Haven't heard that one in years, almost makes me feel nostalgic.
Good one, maybe if you use it a bit more then Fallout 3 will rightfully take it's place as a masterpiece and New Vegas, with it's "boring" well done writing will be forgotten. If you want to talk about "memes" and "discourses", it should be pointed out that there has not been a single debunk video that actually defends Fallout 3 effectively, meanwhile I can pull out half a dozen takedown pieces that ask very simple questions and the game/it's fanbase fails to answer them. I guess when you've been collecting this many Ls over the course of nearly 20 years, you got to own that puddle of piss in your pants eventually, right?
Anyways, I was thinking I was losing my touch, but I guess if I can still make Bethesda cultists seethe so hard with just a few words, that must mean I still got it. That's good to know, considering that in a few months I'm going to be collecting some scalps when Outer Words 2 comes out.
BTW if you want to actually engage with the topic and not listen to some Fallout TV show fan getting pissy(as they usually are), I actually talked about this very topic in the Elder Scrolls thread

Started Fallout 3 today, game isn’t too bad when it comes to dated graphics on ultra settings, it does feel slightly clunky to control but by no means unplayable

Fallout 3 cements itself as the peak of the series because it lets you nuke a town purely for a nice hotel room and because a few residents are kinda annoying. New Vegas would never.

That bait would have worked if there wasn't an entire DLC in New Vegas where all you do is blow up nukes for funsies. There is even an achievement and a challenge to find all the nuclear warheads and detonate them in Lonesome Road, even tho you only need to detonate a portion of them to progress, so it kind of makes Megaton's little fart of a nuke seem underwhelming in comparison. Bethesda can't do anything right, can they?
Oh, and that's not even counting the nuke you yourself detonate halfway thru the DLC, a proper ICBM, whose ground zero you can later explore for end game loot and enemies.

As I have already made my case about the Megaton-food situation(which leads to a discussion about what people in Capital Wasteland at large eat), several times over in fact, in TES thread that I am not going to repeat here, I will just assume there is no proper response, or indeed anyone here capable of making a proper counter response considering the low IQ passive aggressive responses, claim another W, and leave it at that. 4chan really does have better Fallout discussions, as that topic has come up many times in /fog/ and even if a Bethesda tard has no answer to the question, at least they usually have more interesting responses. This behooves a redditor more than anything.

B) That's not true, look at almost any of my posts about Fallout 3(including ones I made today) and I usually say something positive about the game(even tho there isn't much to speak of).
C) Yes, but yelling at each other is more fun(especially when my comment about redditors is more accurate with every post)
That said, the answer is simple: Bethesda fans are low IQ retards that are simply not smart enough to argue with(half of them can't even read long dialogue trees properly due to ADHD so Bethesda just cut them out, more and more with every game), so bullying them is more worthwhile and funnier. This gets exponentially more funny when comparing modern Obsidian and Bethesda games(ie Outer Worlds and Starfield) where somehow, Obsidian is still better than Bethesda even when at their very worst, and Bethesda troons have no place to talk since Starfield can, and has been outperformed by indie games that do basic things it tries to do better, let alone a AA RPG by Fallout's OG Tim Cain that does everything else better and was released 4 years earlier. F3 vs FNV arguments are similar in that regard, except that there is a layer of nostalgia for both sides, which ends with Bethesda's side usually pissing themselves and saying that "you're angry for pointing out my game is bad
" or something similar while drowning in self-aware irony or whatever zoomies call it, while Obsidian chads usually format their well written, lengthy responses and articulate them calmly as the Bethesda troons grow more and more irrational until it's just a cacaphony of "W-WELL YOU'RE JUST A TROON!" or something similar. Happens everytime, unless the Obsidianchad just leaves because he starts feeling sorry for the obviously mentally disabled tourists. I would love a proper debate or discussion about the finer points of the franchise, but the truth is you're likely not going to find it here on green reddit. Ironically enough, the turbo autists that actually care about the franchise are on 4chan or NMA or the like, which leaves mostly casuals or Bethesda fans here. Just my two cents(which are usually right on the money).

I should point out that Fallout 3 demaster will indeed be shit and anyone who is looking forward to is brain damaged. This is what my original post is about, the whole "Megaton food meme" which is not a meme but a cope, is a smokescreen to take away from that fact. They butchered Oblivion and there is no reason to believe Fallout 3 will be any different, but hey, at least you will finally be able to play Fallout 3 by itself without needing to depend on a superior game and it's mods for the first time in what, 8 years or so? Probably longer. That's got to count for something!
Not mutually exclusive, but i get your point.

Morons like this guy are the reason why even RPGs usually don't have long dialogue trees nowdays. Not even a problem with Fallout exclusively but the Bethesda/tourist side of the userbase is the perfect, petri dish example of it.

Probably would depend on what tone they were shooting for. NV is the game that has FISTO and in the same quest line has you recruiting a ghoul cowboy whore. She'll let out a banshee scream if you hire her for sex right into your ear as it fades to black like you're being attacked by a feral ghoul. Same game that has Nobark, a nightkin that bilks you selling 'Wind Cattle', and Tabitha in her 'nation of Utobitha'.
F3 also has the opposite with excessive slaver presence, a not very comical sex slave companion, and Charon as well. They've both got a patchwork quilt of tone depending on what the intention of the writer was for the scenario. Neither's bad just automatically.

With the tone recent Obsidian games would take, that would not be something I would defend Obsidian for. Tone was actually one of the biggest problems in Outer Worlds, the setting was fine and so was the premise but the devs just didn't know what to do with it at all and that lead to a schizophrenic, confused experience. DLCs were much better as they were focused, and I hope Outer Worlds 2 follows with something similar, be it with humourous writing or more serious horror one of Peril on Gorgon, either way they need to pick a lane. Even the reddit writing(which might have been a later addition to the game, not something it started out as) could be tolerable if the game had a strict tone it wanted to adhere to, but it didn't have one. Both FNV and F3 to a lesser extent are one cohesive experience all the way thru, even if they have silly moments or gags inbetween, but OW wants to be a memey political cartoon, a serious political critique on capitalism, Guardians of the Galaxy, Firefly, Fallout New Vegas 2 and Rick & Morty all at the same time and barely any of it sticks, especially as the game barely takes any risks and ends almost every single vanilla game quest with a punchline or a joke. I mentioned the DLC, and in there, they only focus on one or two major ideas and the game is so much better for it, the game also tones down on stupid punchlines and adds some much needed stakes and seriousness at times, but you shouldn't need to wait for DLC to fix such a simple fundamental problem.
At the end of the day, this line of argument is moot as both Obsidian and Bethesda of today are no longer the companies that made either FNV or F3, both of their recent outings show they just don't have the chops anymore and tone is just one of the issues. I criticized Fallout 3 worldbuilding(something nobody corrected me on or even provided a counter argument for BTW), but even then, in it's own way, it builds it's own identity and bizarre, retardedly written world that makes sense in it's own way and plays by it's own rules. Even something like this is beyond many companies today, I feel like.
