Making Fallout 4 a straight shooter with barely any talking or exploration then cutting the weapon count in half was absolutely abysmally retarded. I don't care that I can make my 10mm pistol, functionally, a sub machine gun... I just want the 10mm SMG back.

Gotcha covered.

10mm SMG with attachments

I had trouble with other ones, but this one has been stable.

TOTAL receiver with the chamber though? Increased barrel chambering. Better gas sealing. IDK, but it made sense somewhat. Same with changing the caliber. (Fucking guntwitter will show all kinds of wild shit)
Was mostly talking about how putting a giggle switch in has your bullets do half damage because LOL HURR DURR BALANCE.

But yea, the weapon mods that make the system actually work are great. Which one(s) are you using there? I'm currently rocking Weaponsmith Extended even though its a bit of a mess simply because its all (mostly) in one place and I don't need to juggle too many things. And of course Weapons of Fate so my bullet choice when rechambering a gun has serious consequences for gameplay that aren't just recoil and magazine size.
Scrapyard - Get better scrap depending on your scrapper level
I actually use this mod for my scrapping autism.

FIRST THING FIRST!!!
Elite modlist man mad respect especially for running the winter reskin mod as it makes the game feel really cozy, I usually run a lot of these myself though say if anyone is running the "Thuggyverse" mods as they are known as they may as well go for the full package and install Project Valkyrie and the other one that I forgot the name of. And I'd suggest that you try some kind of unlevelled world mod set too, though this might also lead to you needing to use fo4edit to fine tune the damage of your weapons too though I think there where some complimentary mods that worked with those as well.

I remember a couple years ago back when I was really fixated on Fallout 4 as my zone out relaxation game I was running a mix of maim, scourge and I think true damage and it made combat in general feel so much better, and if you wanna turn the game into Tarkov lite you could throw in uneducated shooter for leaning but frankly that shit is stupid since Fallout 4 was not designed with leaning mechanics in mind.

Thanks.

I'll toss up the links for those two...

Project Valkyrie is pretty good. You might as well run it.
Diary of a Madman - Must have. Fuck everyone else.
Settler & Conversation Upgrade - Older, but you can get some use out of it.

Some people like Hookers of the Commonwealth, but I find it too unstable and buggy.

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch but still fagged up by Artmoor. I don't use it because he's a faggot. The mod breaks more than it fixes in my opinion.

To be honest, roll it back to the one previous to the NextGen patch.

Gas Mask of the Wasteland - Really feel like the wasteland is dangerous
Metro Gas Masks - So you have more options
Polluted Climate - Winter - for those of you who love snow.
Jackets for Winter
Campfire

See, the thing is, for $7.99 if you haven't bought it and wait for it to go on sale, you can change this game to be whatever the fuck you want.

Right now I'm running around a heavily overgrown wasteland, working for the Enclave and building up settlements. Probably October or so I'll wipe everything and switch to winter, with freezing (damaging) fog, radiation storms, having to wear a gas mask, having to wear heavy coats, stuff like that.

Still, you can make it look good and have fun.

One from about 5 years ago.

And one from recently. (I need to download the mod to change the power armor HUD color, that's so ugly)

Is Sim Settlements 2 good if I just want to build settlements and ignore all the additional content like quests?

It depends.

If you do the missions, it's pretty easy. If you just go "Give me all the blueprints and layouts" you can build you own stuff pretty easily and pretty quickly

I've done more than one run without the quests, especially when I was waiting for Chapter 2 to come out.

One one hand, it overhauls the entire system and gives it purpose, on the other hand you have to engage with the quests as they largely act as tutorials for these systems. You will be 20+ hours in and there will still be new mechanics and tutorials introduced in-between main quest and side plot beats. You're essentially playing a brand new expansion pack, like in the old days, and you should treat it as such. If you're here just for improved settlement mechanics from the get go and aren't interested in the Sim Settlement quests, I doubt you will have a good time, unless there is a mod to give you all the features from the start. Even then, it might be overwhelming at first.
Depravity (Allows you to be a slaver and the like. I dislike the NPCs <There's a literal fucking Harley Quimm Cosplayer> and the opening where they take all your shit)
This dude's mods all suck. Way too edgy and tryhard and doesn't even try to fit-in with the universe or the world of the game, altho that's par for the course with Fallout 4 mods unfortunately. Diary of a Madman is the only exception to the rule since you can actually destroy other factions by yourself. This should have been introduced with the Nuka World DLC so you can side with the Raiders, ala Broken Steel in Fallout 3 fixing the godawful ending.

Edit: Speaking of mods, since Modding Haven is down and Based.Mods is apparently not taking in new submissions(dev might have left, essentially abandoning the site), I re-uploaded them on https://degmods.com/

If that site goes tits up, I will upload them somewhere else again.

The thing that repulses me the most about nu Fallout games ( 4 and 76 ) and the TV show is the new overly cartoony art style they have adopted since Fallout 4.
The art syle they implemented with Fallout 3 and New Vegas was a near perfect representation of what Fallout 1 and 2 would look like in 3D, unfortunately since Fallout 4 our eyes now have to suffer looking at this nu Looney Tunes like visual "art style" instead .

Something Fallout related is about to unveiled at Gamescom. Take your pick on what it's gonna be: Fallout 3 Demastered, Fallout TV Show Season 2 or Fallout 5. Frankly, I don't know which one I hate more!

Fallout 4 is the product of the horrible mid 2010s trend of putting white and pastel colored rectangles with rounded corners everywhere. It's still a thing to this day and is no doubt influenced on some level by the Corporate Memphis plague that no doubt graces every webpage you hate.

There's no way it's Fallout 5 , we haven't even gotten a release date for Elder Scrolls 6 yet, there's no way Bethesda is going to prioritize the development of a game they haven't even officially announced yet.

If it's the Fallout TV show season 2 then my interest is less that 0%, I'm not sure I can stomach seeing the TV Show writers completely butcher New Vegas lore ( Mr House, The Legion, the NCR veteran rangers etc ) .

I hope it's the Fallout 3 remaster, if it's anything like the Oblivion remaster then it shouldn't butcher the original work too much. Of course I fully expect to have to install male and female pronoun mods right after launch, you just know that modern Bethesda will relish at the opportunity to insert the A/B non-binary nonsense into the game.

There is no way they will do anything but give us a 15 second teaser like with TES6, but they might still do it. They need something to hype up their playerbase badly after Starfield.

Fallout announcement confirmed to be Season 2 of the TV show. Guess I will be muting that part and take a piss or something.

I also think that the more vibrant colors you see in Fallout 4 was an over-correction on the blatant green tint usage in 3, and to shy away from the idea that "brown is realistic and gritty" which people were clowning on other games for. For what it's worth, it did succeed at avoiding those particular criticisms but then created the problem that it looks too much like buildings have a fresh coat of paint despite rust and age. There's probably a middle ground but 4 overshot and ended up harming the post-apocalyptic tone with a far too colorful palette.

I always figured 4s art direction was more googie architecture while the older entries were varying scales of art deco and streamline moderne.

Even then, 1 and 2 show very little due to the perspective and the interior design of the glow, vaults, and Mariposa feel more akin to black mesa style military industrial complex utility design than the Jetsons

Well, the Season 2 trailer is about as awful as I thought would be. But hey, there is at least 2 people on this forum that I know will like it, good for them I guess.
Love the Fallout 4 trailer music for this New Vegas themed media. It's going to be just as bad as the first season, but again, nu-Fallout fans don't know any better if the last few years and the last few pages of this thread has shown us, so why the fuck do I even bother complaining?
Great that it's coming in December, Christmas is ruined this year.

It seems to be leaning very heavy into New Vegas nostalgia.

Victor is here I guess.
mr house.webp
House and Goggins knew each other pre war. It might be a new actor for house.
legion.webplegion 2.webp
THE GODDAMN LEGION ARE BACK I GUESS. I doubt that's Caesar in the second picture but holy shit it's actually the legion.
novac.webp
Novac as well.

Some sin against god, Why the fuck would you do this.

And the Brotherhood has 4 (now 3 I guess) airships.
House post war and the NCR aren't brought up in the trailer, given the reaction to the loss of the NCR in the first season, I imagine the NCR will have a larger role in season 2, especially if the legion is still kicking about.
