One must wonder what Fallout: New Vegas's writing would be like if it was made by the Obsidian of the late 2010s and not the Obsidian of the late 2000s.
They've recently handwrung over writing the Legion and House too well and talked about how House should've been more like a tech bro. Sawyer's whined about how Honest Hearts was too much about white saviors and if he could do it today he'd focus far more on the tribals. So, yeah, it'd fucking suck.

IDK why NCR would want a war with BoS since their specialty was always making deals and talking things through, but I did not play past FO: Tactics.
The Brotherhood started it, funnily enough. The NCR was expanding outwards, reclaiming and redeveloping the wastes and getting their hands on all sorts of things, Brotherhood took that personally since after Rhombus died they were all sitting in their bunkers doing fuck-all and realized too late they were going to get surpassed by more proactive groups, made demands of the NCR and got told to pound sand, and proceeded to try and enforce those demands.
rip apart all the components that make power armor power armor because it means it can be deployed faster for their side
Remove/=Rip apart. T-45 suits run hot enough to cook the wearer unless they wear an insulated asbestos suit, and need to have teams bolt the frame to said suit due to how clumsy the servos are. For anyone not the BoS and their relatively large teams of Knights, its a massive headache. So they remove the servos and the rad filters (since there's not a lot of radiation-heavy areas anymore) and just treat it as an unpowered exoskeleton.

They also have at least one working suit of it (Colonel Royez), and they're technically proficient enough to both restore Hoover Dam (explicitly described as being in terrible condition and needing extensive repairs for even minimal power production) and create and upload a software patch for a Vertibird in the field.

That still means ncr power armor is objectively worse

@grok, take the entirety of Fallout: New Vegas' script consisting of dialogue, terminal entries, notes, holotapes, narration, and radio broadcasts, and rewrite it in the style of Chuck Wendig.

>cucked by a lesbian
>reacts by nuking LA
I mean...
LA is the Boneyard though. It was already nuked in the Great War, turning the buildings to steel bones and everyone not in a vault either immediately dead or dying soon afterwards from radiation poisoning, starvation, or both.

The Fallout TV show basically merged the Boneyard and Shady Sands into one.

There's nothing confirming the Boneyard is gone-gone but unless the NCR built incomplete skyscrapers for some reason they effectively just had L.A. become Shady Sands because they can't into walled cities and adobe buildings.

I want to point out, because it just unlocked for me, but in Fallout 4 Kellogg's childhood is set in Shady Sands.

Whilst there's an argument to be made that they're doing the whole, "reconstructing based on pre-existing memories/experience" or something, completely original magazines are created during the """Shaun""" scene. This section would imply the denizens of Shady Sands are also living in the bombed out remains of old structures instead of newly built ones. Yeah, it's assets and shit to make, but this'd basically be soft confirmation that Bethesda's Shady Sands is also a recycled bombed out shithole like every other Bethesda settlement. Insult to injury is Emil is the voice on the radio during the childhood scene lmao.

I hope Emil dies alone and bedridden in a nursing home, sobbing to himself about how he used to be a bigshot at Bethesda, trapped in a diaper than hasn't been changed in a week.

Why am I treated like the authority on this? For its time, New Vegas was exceptionally woke, except we called it "progressive" back then.

Two party members are gay, and the one in a straight relationship had to shoot his wife in the face, and their marriage was portrayed as miserable BEFORE that. Half of the NCR military is female, and have women in positions of high power besides.

This is the game that introduced fag perks, even. Le heccin bisexuals do le dooble damage!

B-but Caesar's Legion! Oh yeah? The bad guy faction? The faction with 80% of its content cut? The faction you're meant to despise and which the fan base treats like a universal punching bag? Lead by 4 Int Caesar who is the epitome of midwit? The faction that Avellone said he would not make joinable if he were to make the game today? The faction that has its BEST CENTURIONS bested by a starving, beaten, enslaved, female ranger while they're armed with machetes and her her fists?

Yeah dude, that shit is woke. "But I like it! It is subtle propaganda that means it cannot be woke!"

Yeah dude, it came out back before this shit hit critical mass, back when there were still talented faggots working in the industry as opposed to regular faggots. That's why you can side with the chud faction and experience all two quests they have, or why you can murder female NPCs. You just didnt realize the Overton Window had shifted yet.

Also yes the game is good. Being woke for the time doesn't mean it suddenly becomes a bad game, but being a good game also doesnt mean it suddenly isn't woke. You take the good with the bad on this kinda shit but it doesn't do anybody any good to treat the term like "I like it therefore it isn't."
I hope Emil dies alone and bedridden in a nursing home, sobbing to himself about how he used to be a bigshot at Bethesda, trapped in a diaper than hasn't been changed in a week.
"I'm The Fallout Guy!" He screams as the overweight Somalian immigrant attendant belts him across the back with a length of gnarled rope.

"M'gumbe know you not make Fallout IP!" He says, pink lips curled upwards into a snarl of jagged, white, teeth. "Fallout originally belong to Interplay! You imposter! Cluck! Cluck!"

In the next room over they wheel Todd's comatose body in front of a camera to announce Elder Scrolls 6 Anniversary Edition, this time with more paid mods. He dies halfway through the trailer. Nobody mourns.

B-but Caesar's Legion!
House is both more developed and more based then Caesar's Legion, who are posers. Caesar has already been ideologically poisoned by subscribing to Hegel, which IRL eventually helped lay the foundation for Marxism (look it up).

Caesar's inevitable end from synthesising with the NCR: Caesar's Legion -> Collectivist, centrally controlled / NCR -> Free market, decentralised control -> Collectivist + decentralised control or Collectivist + centralised control -> Communist, anarchy flavoured or Soviet flavoured. They are already red, clearly foreshadowing their future should they win!

Caesar, should he succeed, be it with him or successors, will evolve into Communism. He's like any other student who learned basic philosophy 101 and think they arrived at a conclusive solution to fix the world. Short-term based but long-term cringe. This is objectively true. Not really but it's funny.

Why am I treated like the authority on this?
Because while I like New Vegas, I just do not have the autism to break down how it was woke for the time. Also, you forgot to mention the Cass ending slide thing.

@>IMPLYING makes fine points, the problem is that it's sort of like fujoshi bullshit. If all of the fujoshi goblins who poked their heads out of their stinking holes had been stomped out of fandoms the second they ever showed up instead of being tolerated, we would never have gotten the Kingdom Come 2 fiasco.

Similarly, games like New Vegas lay the foundation for the modern variety of bullshit. Please keep in mind that JSawyer is a Something Awful goon.

but in Fallout 4 Kellogg's childhood is set in Shady Sands.
It is never stated in game that he lives in Shady Sands. He comes from California, for sure, but the radio in the scene mentions the Hub and then refers to the broadcast being based out of Shady Sands, but we never learn where exactly Kellogg is in that memory. Second image is in San Francisco.
