>4 has by far the most "well thts fucking retarded"
>names some of the cooler things in the game

Ok I'll give you the kid in the fridge but most of the other stuff was handled pretty well.
Do you really lile the whole synth idea?
Tech that they show there goes against what fallout world establishes.
You can still have robot be in the game just make it so you have to fix him first
But the door guy is retarded. Why he is still wearing the same clothes and why does he even remembers you.

Too much backstory. Maybe i don't want play as an ex-solider or a lawyer.
Maybe i was bully in the vault.
Well keyword most, I was more talking in a general sense rather than specific details, 3 does at the very least let you be a jackass to Amata for evil karma.

Yes I do actually, and I think the synth paranoia was one of the examples of good writing in 4, the problem is that they failed to deliver a motive behind their existence, the gorillas made more sense to be created than the synths.

On the topic of tech, I don't really understand how that goes against it, the Institute is already supposed to be the most technically advanced group not just in the area but probably the entire continent, we're already in a world with mechanized tank suits and laser/plasma weaponry, not to mention the FEV and all that entails. As far as I'm concerned, it stays within the limits pretty well.

You can still have robot be in the game just make it so you have to fix him first
No, that would just be adding another layer that doesn't need to be added, and considering this is a world where you come across things like REPCONN's entire robotic staff still working or countless other examples of robots, I think it's fine.

But the door guy is retarded. Why he is still wearing the same clothes and why does he even remembers you.
For the ghoul's clothes I suppose they just wanted him to immediately stand out to the player, I'm pretty sure there is a dirty version of the coat he wears in game so it was likely intentional, given how hard he's grasping unto his salesman personality he probably kept his clothing.

He remembers you because if I'm not mistaken most ghouls that you can ask about it will usually be able to recount their experiences during the war, given how traumatic that experience was and what followed and given you meeting him was only like 3 minutes away from the nukes, I imagine I could also remember that happening even 210 years later.

76's story starting with wastelanders is actually a massive improvement over the original and i would argue is the best written Bethesda fallout.
I can’t say that I agree with this, the story was most tolerable before I had to interact with their new array of essential faggots. The base game had some interesting story elements here and there that were dragged down by their need to nostalgiabait the BoS and especially the Enclave. Similarly Wastelanders had a few alright elements until they reveal the secret service shit, and was further dragged down by my inability to care about either faction of retards that I have to side with. I eventually dropped it entirely after the Pittsburgh update was just a fucking instanced dungeon that you were meant to grind ad nauseam, paired with a new array of annoying NPCs including a tranny Enclave spy inhabiting what was once one of the nicer setpiece locations.

Maybe the newer BoS shit they’ve added is written better but I’m not falling for nostalgiabait in a game that’s designed to squeeze money and time out of you wherever it can. It’s a shame because the world is nice to explore, some of the cryptids are pretty fun enemy designs and Bethesda managed to make the gameplay itself the best in the series to actually retain players. If it wasn’t burdened with live service jewry it’d be a halfway decent shooter.

Rumors are flying right now about a Fallout 3 and New Vegas remaster possibly shadow dropping at the end of the FOTV show's season finale. (A countdown timer has been noticed on the Fallout TV Show's website, the time remaining matches to the airing of the season finale.) The Fallout 3 remaster has been confirmed to be real for a few years now, after being leaked through the Microsoft's Acquisition of Activision-Blizzard.

Inb4 its more 76 dlc

The game was popular and introduced a lot of younger players to fallout, I think that's nice. Saying it is universally reviled is like echo-chamber bluesky/reeera trannies claiming that Harry Potter as a franchise is universally reviled even though Hogwarts Legacy sold tens of millions and got good reviews.
the entire thing with FO4 is that faggots didn't like how it was action oriented, of all the fucking issues with the game they chose the thing that literally made fallout better.
course they also complained about the voiced character but that wasn't the main focus of the complaints and that is arguably worse, the sole survivor isn't shepard, he didn't need to be voiced.

also he, she does a fucking awful voice acting job and sounds bored if not mildly annoyed, just like in mass effect, HA.

if you count that "leak" after oblivion remastered, their next game to be under unreal engine5 is FO3, with new vegas being slightly later.
no morrowind remastered though, fucking pain.

I forgot 3 was all vault for it's intro, which yeah that would kind of muddy the waters if 4 just copied that.

I never really understood most of the hate for the intro's of the 3d games, but at the same time I also don't understand why neither Obsidian nor Bethesda ever included a skip intro option for any of their games. Maybe I'm just built different since while they're usually the most boring part of the game, I always make a point to play through them since the game would feel incomplete with out it, and I usually play theses games at least twice a year. Meanwhile most only do like every 5 and they still have time to complain about the tutorials.

At the very least none of them are nearly as bad as the Temple of Trials.

Really? I haven't played any of the TES games beyond Morrowind, and even then I haven't finished it, but out of the 2 FO games I was gonna say 4 had the better MQ compared to 3.
First: I love 3's intro.
But 3 was my first Fallout game so that is definitely influencing my decision there. It may also influence why I place its main story above 4, but I do have my reasons for it.

3's main quest was extremely linear alongside being incredibly short. IRL there's someone out there who only did the main quest and got the shock of their life when the credits began to roll after 7-10 hours, which can potentially become 4 to 5 if you know where James is in advance and beeline for 87 after you meet Elder Lyons. There's also only 2 pivotal choices lobbed in at the end (Modified FEV + send in Lyons) that didn't fucking matter in the original Fallout 3 since the game ended after you activated the purifier.

3's MQ starts off strong but the end is backloaded with a ton of contrived bullshit to push the plot along in the specific way Bethesda wanted. Autumns ambush of the player in 87, Eden somehow being convinced you'd do his bidding after his people killed your dad + infamous "Kill yourself - NOW!" speech check + spontaneous Enclave civil war - all just to allow the player to escape Raven Rock. It's dense with dumb, but it does by quick.

This is alongside the purifier choice requiring abandonment of all logic because you can't send anybody immune to radiation in the original, essentially making your self-sacrifice retarded are a result of fucking peer pressure lmao - it's especially egregious since if you're good karma your options are Fawkes (super mutant), Cross (Brotherhood lady people forget exists), and the ghoul from Underworld who doesn't need a karma check to have a companion. Chances are, you're going to pick the OP mutant or the guy who requires a big investment to acquire in the first place. If you're evil karma, the ghoul is still one of the better companions as the easiest method to get him is to murder another character which should be a piece of piss if you're evil anyway. Chances are, you're going to end up in a situation where the logical choice is to send in the guy immune to radiation and the game chastises you for not throwing your life away.

3's main story suffers from some extremely dumb decisions in the last 3rd, which stick out more by virtue of appearing at the end and being so absurdly stupid that they are pretty hard to defend. However one of its flaws helps to ameliorate this: It's also very short. If you skip the treasure hunt for your dad you cut the quest in half.

Regarding 3's cringe, I'd say it mostly concentrated in 3-Dog because the "good fight shit" is genuinely vague wishy washy shit that is just as cringe IRL when hippies do it and it's equally cringe here. Though you wanna do his quest if you want map-wide coverage of GNR - I can't not go through the Wasteland without Mighty Man, man.

And after all that shit, I still like it. I think it has a strong beginning (Vault intro (which I like personally) + hunt for Neeson itself having you run into a lot of interesting locations via diegetic means), middle (initial Enclave conflict + Brotherhood intro + excursion to Vault), and the end is where the dumbest shit is but fighting through Raven Rock + Liberty Prime and the fight towards the Jefferson Memorial are all really strong moments to me that 4 doesn't match in its final act. The closest to a good finale is if you bring down the Brotherhood since the Prydwyn's burning descent is a more interesting and striking visual than a large mushroom cloud. Unfortunately the Brotherhood has the best main quest path narratively speaking and in terms of set pieces, so you don't get to see it unless you go full retard (Institute or Railroad) or a bit dull (Minutemen).

How did my post shitting on Fallout 3's MQ somehow equate to it being better than 4's MQ? Here's a secret: my first playthrough of Fallout 4 was in the release month, totally blind. My chosen faction? The Railroad.

After my first playthrough didn't play 4 again until after 2020.

To that end it's pretty similar to 4, though I find 4's plot holes are way harder to defend than 3's.

I like 4's MQ more because, assuming you play ball with the games pre-defined main character story, it was the more engaging of the two and I really like how (probably unintentionally) tragic the Sole Survivor's overall story was, compared to 3. It's a shame 4 never did anything with the tragedy of the main character like 3 did with Point Lookout's hallucination section.

As for the radio hosts, I honestly couldn't tell you if I like Travis or 3-Dog more, maybe 3-Dog is a little better but awkward Travis has some really memorable lines like "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" and "Who're you writing that letter for, SKEETER?"

Shame they did something to the radio to royally screw it up in the AE, thanks Bethesda.

EDIT: also Liam Neeson has some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard in a Bethesda title, bro doesn't like doing vidya and it shows

My chosen faction? The Railroad.
Out of the two MQ's I've finished (RR and MM) its by far the better of the two because it has actual quests in it, and infiltrating the Prydwen to blow it up from the inside as a retaliation attack against the BOS's was Kino. I will say, the Railroad are easily the best faction if you want to play as a terrorist because that's pretty much what they are, Rockets' Red Glare certainly made me feel like one at least.

I'm currently doing the BOS questline right now and I'm about at the halfway point (Glowing Sea) and taking a Far Harbor interlude in-between, and I'd say it's already the better of the 3,. I'll probably get to the Institute at some point this year.

no morrowind remastered though, fucking pain.

There is no Morrowind without 2002 graphics, they are inseparable and anything trying to be "better" will fall flatter than the Oblivion remaster

it's the SEAmonkeys that would remaster it, not the jeets so you can easily bet the remaster would be 80% visually accurate to the OG.
then zenimax would bitch and they would make things look TESO-y especially on the lightning with the shitty brown filter (:_(
that's something to expect in FO3 remaster, if they keep the green filter you can consider it a miracle, a awful looking miracle but still better than the brown filter of oblivion remaster that killed all of the vibrant colors the game was known for.

There'll be no Adam working on this one so I've already prepared for it to be a flop visually.

I WANT TO SEE HIGHLY DETAILED POLYGONAL 8K TEXTURES FARGOTH AND CAIUS COSADES.

Fargoth Ur welcomes you nerevar

But to this place where destiny is made, why didn't you return my fucking ring? How can you think this classic needs another engine other than classic game embryo? What a grand and intoxicant innocence

In terms of preserving content MM is the best if you want to keep the Railroad and Brotherhood alive at the expense of the Institute. Storywise it's BoS over everyone else, Institute (you have to get past the retarded Synth shit) and whilst the RR should go over MM, the latter's motives go to the extreme end of retarded, it's crazy how much damage the "Would you sacrifice your life to save a synth" did for that faction's PR.

I'm working my way slowly through TTW so it'll probably be a bit before I get started on 4. I'll see if the CC content is necessary for any modlists then like Skyrim Anniversary and just pirate it if push come to shove I ain't fuckin' paying for that.
I went total blackout on the game and legit thought, "Oh cool, this must be a secret faction or something! I had to find their secret base and everything. :)" I was wincing the entire time I had to interact with any of them. I didn't know the Minutemen were a faction and I resolved to finish the RR's quests first and then do the based Brotherhood. Passed the point of return and suddenly I was watching the Prydwyn burn up.

This means the Railroad officially has the blood of children on their hands. (BOS > MM > Institute = Railroad)

My first Morrowind house was Hllalu too so it creates a double negative and cancels it out, making me extremely heterosexual. (I thought you could join multiple houses like guilds.)

Awkward's better because it's more memorable. He legit becomes white noise after he adopts the typical disc jockey persona.
I remember becoming oddly enamoured with Minutemen radio. It doesn't have as much variety but all the songs as pleasant to listen to. DCR you might risk listening to "It's a man!" or "Worry Worry Worry" and either need to turn the radio off or bear through it.
"All is quiet in the Commonwealth. Stay safe, people."

Shouldn't be.

Most of the content isn't unnecessarily bad but I would advise against playing with it regardless because you're adding even more buggy content onto an already buggy game. Plus alot of the items don't make sense lore wise or break balacing.

It is funny to me that the Railroad is arguably the worst ending for the wasteland overall, even considering the Institute.

I'm sure Desdemona feels real proud of herself for leaving a power vacuum in the wastes and really doing nothing for the general populace except destroying the institute but also helping their already proven worst enemy (synths) in the process.

I remember becoming oddly enamored with Minutemen radio.
I did appreciate that 4 continued the tradition of having a secondary radio that's also great via the Classical radio, and the plot twist about it being the signal the institute uses to teleport was brilliant and I didn't see it coming.

For me, i always ending my FO4 playthroughts with the Institute.
They are somewhat naive and very stupid with the concept of androids having free will, but they have the technology to improve things in a post-apocalypse wasteland, which isn't even detailed in the game.
They can create a army robot of synths; with that you can even have a force to be reckoning.
And you can add the Minutemen as the civil backup or general security with the posts.

They can create a army robot of synths; with that you can even have a force to be reckoning.
Felt like i was having a stroke reading that.
You don't even need the Totally Human But Robots Yet FEV Printed Flesh ones, you can just print infinite Generation 2 or even Generation 1 if they're cheaper, and that's not even considering the fact that there's apparently just a databank of every* RobCo and General Atomics model of robot just sitting around in the Commonwealth if they're cheaper than the human-equivalent options.
*Securitrons not included.
Unfortunately, the Institute is permanently fucktarded.

Even the nigger cattle consumers who eat this shit up appear to take satisfaction out of the fact that the show is taking a fat, watery, diarrhea shit on the setting, like it's a bonus for them that their mindless slop entertainment is ruining something beloved by thousands of diehard fans. If you take issue with an aspect of the show you then are sure to have some faggot gloating at you that the franchise has been dumbed down into mass appeal garbage a retard like them can enjoy.

Like look at this shit. These are just some comments from a post calling out the retarded and cartoonish depiction of the Legion in the show. It's like they can't fathom that people don't like it not because the Legion fractured at all, but that it happened in such a stupid way. How the fuck could two separate splinter factions that are at war with each other be situated so close together for so long? In all that time not a single person has managed to drag Caesar's corpse to their side of the mound? These people don't think about the media they consume at all, it's all just audio-visual stimuli to them with no deeper meaning that keeps them occupied for a few hours while they shove their fat fucking mouths with cheetos and beer.

You know, that red icon one at the bottom? He is my favorite, simply for his upfront honesty. He doesnt care about Fallout, he hates "ze chudz", he knows that "ze chudz" care about things like "continuity" and "consistency", "complex characters" "thoughtful themes and storylines" (who needs those, right?) and that they love the Legion apparently, for the oh so obvious reason that Ceasar is an alt righter icon that promises "State Sanctioned Girlfriends"*. Therefore he will enjoy the TV show for its assassination of all Fallout stood for and they will take great enjoyment at how much pain it causes to their enemies, real or otherwise.

At least there are a few mocking Bethesda/Amazon's writing, just a few but they're there. A tiny white pill.

*we all know leftists cant detect sarcasm to save their lives, everything is very literal to them, (oddly enough, thats usually a symptom of autism) so it doesnt dawn on them that most of the "legion fans" are just fans of their complexity and lore provided by a well written game instead of full on agreeing with their ideology. These are the same people that throw the "you have no Media literacy" accusation while they are nearly incapable of seeing anything through a non IRL political lenses
Someone should make a Skyrim mod that replaces the dragons with vertibirds.

Surprised no one made a G.A.T.E styled mod or fanfiction with Fallout and TES, honestly.

How crazy would it a nord party or Dragonborn coming across a Deathclaw and just having no fucking idea what it is since there is no record of it anywhere.

Ngl, the image of a beaten and cut Dragonborn charging and releasing a fus ro dah right as the deathclaw made the leap for the fatal blow, sending it flying away, is way too awesome to ignore.
He can't seem to handle that the NCR was canonically beating the BoS in a war of attrition by the time New Vegas rolled around, likens the Brotherhood's network of chapters to the McDonald's franchise.

He cant be that retarded...:story:

Oh my God, he is. :lossmanjack:
His retarded McDonalds analogy has already generated some shitposting and OC.

So what's the verdict? Bait or mental retardation?

Always bet on retardation. Always. Especially nowadays.
