I'm not going to quote it (as I cannot remember where it was in the thread, though it was recent), I think the original idea of what started the war was Vault Tec dropping a nuclear bomb on a vault door as a test and the US panicked and all hell broke loose. I like that better than "we dropped the bombs because of muh capitalism"

China dropping nukes first is the only thing that makes sense to me. They got pushed out of Alaska, and America was beginning to invade mainland China. They didn't have much to lose and maybe had a little to game.

Vault tech kicking off the war for the meme is the most retarded option, even above America snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by nuking first, so of course that's what they'll go with.

The whole point of who dropped the bombs is that man would rather blow himself up rather than admit his wrongdoing. all that matters is that hubris doomed the world, and both sides are dead because of it.

speaking of fallout 4, are the enemies supposed to tank 6 combat shotgun shots before dying?

Its just like in real life.
If you're using a shit combat shotgun or it's a high-level enemy, yes. Welcome to Skyrim Scaling!
tl;dr Base Shotguns are useless in the bottom third of the map and also against hostile PlayerFactions above level 70 globally, above level 50 for BoS/Institute.

Basically if you strike someone wearing nothing but a loincloth with the gnarliest most powerful looking weapon imaginable but they happen to be 2-3 levels higher than you, this happens

Kind of reminds me how the star wars sequel trilogy destroyed the new republic, thus destroying a LOT of world building possibilities and bring us to another basic ass setting with nothing to show for it.

And the defenders of this sort of modern writing (because yes, it is a modern writing trend) are even worse as they keep trying to find excuses and even make ones basic on faux intellectual/philosophical nonsense about the nature of society, humanity and etc, even bringing up "War never changes" as an argument.

I dont think it dawned on them that the issue isnt that the NCR/New Republic/literally any faction worth a fucking damn is gone, the issue is that the world building got absolutely butt fucked and for what? What they have to show for it?

The New Republic is gone and as far as we know, the galaxy is left basically without any sort of government body afterwards, realistically setting up a pretty fucking grim future ahead.

The NCR, Legion and Mr House are gone, whatever is left of them are almost a mockery, and all thats left is the BOS that demonstrates itself to be incompetent, corrupt and divided among themselves (and yet somehow we are to believe they came out ontop and that they are so vast and in control of it all). How was this all achieved? "They just did."

Word of advice from a creative type, a phrase that kills world building is "just because" or "they just did/didnt" or "it just never happened". Because people are willing to suspend their disbelief on a lot of things as long the world building is given fair share of details that go a long way because the lack of leads to breaking of immersion, thus your setting and plot and characters wont be taken as seriously if at all.

It leaves nothing and we are left with a creative equivalent of learned helplessness because nothing that came before ultimately mattered so why bother rebuilding again if it will just come down again according to the "new and improved" creators and their cult like defenders?

nothing good is allowed to happen ever.

people being happy? not allowed

people making progress?* not allowed
*marine?
happy endings? especially not allowed.

and there is no philosophical debate, it really is just people who make media now are evil and they hate you.

I'm giving Fallout DUST a shot, and I just have a quick question - is a sub-optimal framerate normal? I usually run at 144 fps even on a recent TTW run, but with DUST im getting around high 90s-low 100s.
The Viva New Vegas guide has some supplementary addons for DUST under the "mods to avoid" (lol) section. Maybe they'll help.

I would love to see a post Disney star wars trilogy movie that actually follows what they have setup. The universe in flames, pirates hyperspace ramming people and holding whole planets hostage or they will hyperspace ram their planet. First order slowly taking over the galaxy as they only stopped the final order not the first order in episode 9. Rey slowly becoming Palpatine as killing her grandfather fulfilled his plan. Jedi all dead, Republic all dead, Skywalkers dead.

And the same is for the fallout show. Want to know what happened to your favourite faction/person, there dead.

The problem with what you've said is that, despite it being true, it gives Amazon writers an excuse to insert their agenda narrative.

Correction: Anything OTHER than bethesda's content is allowed to progress (barley), have happy endings/good things happen. Everything else has gone against the word of our lord and saviour todd howard, and thus must be destroyed to make room for TRVE FVLLOUT.

No, I'd argue against that for 3 and 4, and 76 to a lesser degree.

I was more so talking about the show and Star Wars.

Yeah I have all those already, someone has a DUST installation guide for 2025 that was pretty straightforward. It just seems like low framerate is unavoidable.

That's actually not true, there is absolutely still a government power left in control by the end of the sequel trilogy.

The First Order.

They were never defeated or overthrown by the end of the sequels. It's established that in-between TLJ and TROS the First Order expanded it's influence across the galaxy and became the new major power, with patrols on basically every planet just like the Empire in the OT. The galaxy all banded together to defeat Palpatine and his "Final Order" super-mega-ultra Star Destroyer fleet on that one planet, but they never say anything about the First Order's rule literally everywhere else.

The movie just forgets about that faction like halfway through and focuses on the second, much smaller faction once papa Palpatine shows up.

The only First Order ships/forces that got killed by the finale are General Hux for being a traitor and General Pryde and his one ship, the rest are just Palpatine's forces. By the end of the sequels the logical conclusion based on what we're told is that the First Order just straight up won. They're still in power.
