I cannot believe people look at this and go "yep is this better than vanilla"
What mod is this? This looks terrible, its like the old talking heads of Fallout 1 without the charm, the faces look like they were sculpted from playdough.

I get modding and making characters look better, i know FCO and Brave New World does decent jobs at it but even they sometimes look uncanny sometimes with the odd NPC or two, this one seems like they went out of they way to do it.

The armors are on point, but the faces... lmao.
I'd have to look but they didn't do much with the animations either. Just imagine the entire Mojave came down with Marcus's or Ulysses' "I have a higher poly face but have the same expression regardless of what I'm saying " just complete lifelessness

There's really no way that it should be done because they always fail at making the characters more expressive then the already low-expressive characters of vanilla FO3/FNV and oblivion because everyone has the same issues that Ulysses' does

Reminder that the Prydwen canonically had children on it, so when the Railroad is jerking itself off about freeing 100 sterile robot vampire bodysnatchers just know they're doing so by burning a bunch of actual human children to death.

The funniest part is that we know that the Brotherhood could've been convinced anyway. If you stand up for Dance to Maxson he's willing to let him live.

Literally the most zealous mothefucker in the faction and he can be speechchecked into letting a synth go, but no you need to murder the entire brotherhood because they might be mean to the toasters that they are incapable of identifying.

The railroad is an insane faction made for the sort of person who thinks ramming an ICE officer on behalf of Somalians is a great idea

Well to play devil's advocate, you blow up the prydwen in the RR questline AFTER they raid the RR HQ and kill one of the head honchos, so it's more of a "let's strike now before they find us again" Granted it's absolutely still a terrorist act, don't get me wrong. An escalation of massive proportions that should tell you everything you need to know about Desdemona, but I digress. From a gameplay perspective, if I have to pick one, I will absolutely take "let's blow up the Prydwen!" over "let's find another base and try to plead our case to the BoS"

I said this earlier but if you want to LARP as a jihadi terrorist fighting for a cause on the same level of stupidity as "the deathclaw preservation society" as that one guy in Bunker Hill puts it, there's plenty of content for you in the late game.

If anyone wants an excellent mod, do what I do and use this updated version of New Vegas Redesigned 2 Revised. It only touches NPC looks, so changes are minimal overall and while you do get an Asian Daniel in Honest Hearts you also get Tyrone made into a proper nigger to match his name, side occupation (smuggler) and voice acting.

Yeah, too-realistic faces just don't work at all with the rest of the game's art direction, from textures to even shading.

Also, every so often there's one meme mod that's so terrible yet so fitting for what it does it deserves to be given some consideration:
Picture it, Courier! SALVATION!

a plinking .38 pipe rifle that does 3 damage makes the same noise as Mr. badass's assault rifle that's been pre kitted out with the best mods.
I cannot describe how pissed off I was when I switched my combat rifle from .45 to .308 and it made the exact same fucking noise
Just recently played Fallout 4. Feel very looter shooty and I find the settlement and loot for too tedious. Might play it just it again and ignore that part of the game.
I did that like a month ago and am already burned out. Save yourself the time, dude.

This is why I don't fuck with graphics mods. It's an old game, having updated models with the same janky animations and engine funk gives me serious whiplash. I also have the wonderglue and scrap electronics models diamond-etched into my hippocampus and don't need to do that twice.

seconding NVR2 as a whole, but it does remind me that NVR3 used to be derided because of not only the crappy/uncanny FCO textures, but im reminded of all the changes that they did to NPCs and how some of the female corpses were given naked meshes to imply rape and some of the slaves were given battered textures\meshes. Reading through the comments tells me that apparently its still the case of the currently available version of NVR3R, iirc, you could find some of these as early as the Sheriff's wife in Primm.

To give my 2 cents on the best ending debate, I personally always go NCR for my New Vegas playthroughs. As I see it, Caesar's Legion will only last as long as Caesar himself, and when he eventually dies it'll probably split into various subfactions that'll war between each other and regress into gangs and tribes.
House wouldn't last against a organized army, hell the Boomers could level Vegas if they wanted to at the start of the game, not even counting their ability to once they get the B-29. He's probably best for Vegas alone in the long term, but the Mojave at large won't be any better off with him in control, it make actually be worse off.
Independent is impossible to call good or bad given the fact it fully relies on what the Player thinks they would do to Vegas post game.

The NCR, in my opinion, is the best chance for a stable wasteland even if the NCR itself may end up collapsed eventually.
House with the militarized Securitrons could arguably be the equal of any of the big powers in the Mojave, plus he has the knowledge and intellect to actively rebuild. Or so he claims. He could always just be bugfuck crazy, is the thing, and you don't have any real means to determine how full of shit he is. Or rather, I think it's pretty clear that he's bugfuck crazy given that he's been in a pod for centuries, but less clear is whether he could pull off restarting an industrial base sufficient to get humanity back to pre-war conditions. So I place the House ending about on par with the NCR for the likelihood of the place not going straight to shit. Taking the place over yourself, much like the Legion ending, dooms the place to fall into anarchy once the local dictator kicks the bucket.

The upgraded Securitrons, while strong, are still just robots. Realistically a Anti Material Rifle would one shot those fuckers in a instant through their TV screen, and this is without including any sort of artillery or mechanized force. (The NCR, at least according to the Fallout bible, has a small force of Tanks and other vehicles, the Fallout show possibly confirms this as canon with a M4 Sherman seen in the ruins of Camp McCarran.) The Brotherhood could also probably beat the Securitrons in a straight up fight.

I wish nothing but bad things upon Reddit and Amazon
The acting is decent, but the character is such a shitty Gary stu.
>Lived pre war
>fought in the grest war
>saw a deathclaw in alaska
>knew about the plot to nuke the workd for money
>agent for the anti capitalists
>met house in a bathroom
>model for the vault boy
>saw the nukes get dropped
>became a ghoul
>interacted with every faction in the wasteland
>visited every locatiom in the wasteland
>one shots power armor
Dude is every fallout protagonist if it was one person

Considering the rumor he was actually the Courier too, he really is the main character of the show. In the worst way possible.

Now if that Redditor said the show specifically, yeah he pretty much is since he's the only mildly interesting character. But the franchise? Yet another reason I don't take anything a Redditor says seriously. Original post if you want to reinforce your opinion that if the internet vanished today and never returned it would probably be a net positive.

Every time I come back to this game as a Guns character I've always forgotten what a good gun the Hunting Shotgun is, and am pleasantly surprised all over again. It's not flashy like the Anti-Materiel Rifle or Li'l Devil, but by God is it reliable. Just enough range to be useful at medium distances (with the choke mod) but absolutely devastating when sweeping buildings and urban area like the exterior of Vault 3. It also sounds awesome, like BLAM!
I ALWAYS pick up The Dinner Bell and get the two Shotgun perks

Turns anyone into a Deathclaw murder machine.
