Always said that a Fallout TV show should maybe be animated or a comic.
There is a lot of 90's edge mixed with 50's retrofuturism, like stuff you'd see on Tank Girl mixed with Mad Max and other nuclear aftermath medias so work with that identity by having it be an anthology series.
Like, how awesome would it be to see a Marcus episode, following the aftermath of F1, leading to him fighting and befriending Jacob? Just show things that were only told or implied to us. Maybe show us Frank Horrigan's origin, make it as grim and metal as possible. Maybe the early years of Arroyo. Maybe Tandi's journey over the years between F1 and 2.
But the main characters should be kept at a distance, keeping a mystery to their presence as thats the PLAYER's journey, not the main character of our current tale.
And dont be afraid to have some bleak conclusions, not everyone gets a happy ending.
Still makes more sense than the actual fallout series
Now I just want a Fallout fanfiction where Dumb and Dumber are just "low Int/maxed out luck" characters that are just able to get away with annoying the fuck out of everything and everyone.
Bullets miss, swings miss, whatever hit just gets followed by a cartoonish sound effect and reaction with the attacker absolutely confused as to what the fuck is happening.
A fucking huge explosion goes off, you'd think they are dead but one finds the other inside a toilet
"How did you fit in there?!"
"It was easier than I thought, there was already a bunch of smelly grease here so I squeezed in !"
"Uh, idk if thats grease..."
They fix situations on accident and then fuck them up the same way, leading to them escaping or getting kicked out.
"We respected the players choices by making our own original choices"
Dinky being backwards (and the pool but Novac even just having a pool is a whatever retcon, all that really changes is they might have a garden or something now) just summarizes the problems with the show connecting new vegas lore, its accurate looking and in the right place but its changed just enough in dumb ways that ultimately no one wins.
It is "close enough" to satisfy normies that played the game.
You see, in the days of yore, normies didnt play video games, they actually looked down on those that did so most adaptations had to begrugingly adapt it to actual fans, which led to poor results most of the times.
But then normies got into the hobby and completely sloppified with their wretched bland presence and now most adaptations know they need to appeal just the normies who will "vaguely" recognize Novac, the factions, locations and etc. They wont remember/care that Dinky the Dino is in the wrong position or that there is a pool now, they just remember Novac was a thing with hotel rooms and shit, therefore, it is perfect.
The normie lives in automatic pilot, from crib to grave, enjoying only what others want them to enjoy because they are herd animals. Schizos like us, who never cared about the opinion of others, why should we?, we do notice when they dont give a shit about what they are working with, we have too much "noticing" within us for that shit to fly, therefore, of course, the normie centered propaganda pieces will focus on demonizing us as "toxic fans". It is all rather simple, actually, nefarious but simple.
And most of all, it works. Because normies dont change.
Already mentioned in a previous post about how paradoxically dystopian it is to make merchandise about a dystopian setting about the horrors of souless corporate overreach, too much big government and how the nature of Man will always bring conflict.
It is one thing to like, wanting to have a pipboy device or something. That is neat but all this food, collect cards, dolls? It just lacks...sincerity if thats the right word. It is clear that these arent a celebration of Fallout but of "insert brand".
Space Balls made fun of this with merchandise joke and that holds up indeed but with Fallout? It just feels extra worse.
Not that you cant make this out of an apocalyptic setting, hell, we got a lot of TWD merchandise but with Fallout? It is kind of doing happy meal toys out of 1984, you cant help but feel oddly uncomfortable with it.
I can excuse the Capital Wasteland being a shithole it is Washington DC after all. The Chinks probably bombed the shit out of the place that it almost got terraformed into a desert.
I find it weird the fanbase struggles to accept TCW's state even after 200 years, if there is a location where that was somewhat excusable, it is there as it is one of the most bombed locations (in retrospect, it is shocking anything is left standing).
It would have been neat to see New York's state in a TV show but that didnt destroy pre-established classic lore, so alas...

If 76 is the game he is most proud of, then that explains a lot about Starfield...
