Fallout series

You are gay.

I always thought the gameplay was the weakest part, which is why it had VATs as a crutch.
Yeah, that's why as much as I was able to enjoy it for what it was I wish Bethesda had done more to make the gameplay stand out. The seemingly intentionally terrible accuracy was really bothersome. Would it have killed them to fucking add iron sights to the weapons like Obsidian did? Honestly, VATS should have been some sort of lock-on style system instead of "Automatically shoot here" sort of shit.

Wow, Fallout 76 sure has a lot of diversity in it's audiologs and whatnot...

Bit odd for a West Virginia game.

Am I the only one who unironically likes the 1st and 2nd game? Because they're really good.
The gameplay didn't age well, but it didn't age as badly as a lot of other games out there. But when it came out it was fucking godly. Shit, I still replay 1 & 2 every few years. The stories were great, the humor was great. I wish someone would do some sort of overhaul mod to update it a bit graphically and make the gameplay a bit smoother.

I'd have to agree with the gameplay not aging and well but at the same time, I can see it working to this day, they really need to fix up the critical hit rate, especially since that's how I died everytime I ventured into the powerplant.

So far as I am aware, f76 is unlikely to be canonical and that was giving Bethesda more wiggle room. The problem is they are really stuck between a rock and a hard place with the lore. Mostly because if they didn't include familiar shit people would whine.

We all know it. People would whine in the same droning way a lot of you folks have here in this thread.

Now I think Bethesda did a good deal right with the BOS, with the east coast being significantly more fucked has let them rebuild in the east while they die slowly in the west. The compromises and successes Lyons had set the significant groundwork for Maxson to empire build. The brotherhood is pretty much the techno Templars by this point ruling the capital wasteland enough to build a new airship. Though it is taxing their resources to go to the Commonwealth and they won't be there forever.

The BOS is also not some magic faction which doesn't have casualties and this has been canonical from the start. If anything they've always been shit to a degree because they rely too much on tech. Something this micro chapter probably did before being ganked by the scorched. Roger was a shockingly charismatic man, so it is probably going go be more they are adopting some aspects of his ideas as a sop to the fans who will complain about no stompy power armour dudes they recognise.

I now struggle to envision this remotely established and operated "microchapter" as little more than a literal BOS fan-club. A bunch of Appalachian hicks and methheads that just sit around eagerly listening to BOS radio/satellite transmissions from the other end of the continent like it's some in-universe radioplay serial drama and think it's so exciting that they take to LARPing as knights in power armor themselves because there's nothing else to do in West Virginia.

I didn't know "ironically" liking the games was a thing. They're both (well, mostly the first game in my opinion) really well crafted games both for their time and by today's standards. The writing was on-point, the music was atmospheric, the worlds were well-realized, and while the gameplay is somewhat clunky, they did provide a lot of depth and character build variety leading to high amounts or replayability.

No, there is no group of people on the Internet who love the first two Fallouts. It isn't the golden goose of RPG's or anything.
The gameplay didn't age well,
Yes, unlike 3, of course. :story:

Shut up, you insufferably queer sped.
