Fallout series

It looks better than The Frontier mod, that's all I'm saying as someone has only watched the trailers and browsed through the screenshots every time they post a news update.
The area they picked is the least fleshed out in terms of lore and unadded content. Fucking why.

I assume they did it to avoid contradicting existing lore and give them more flexibility to do their own thing
Which is gay and boring.

You answered your own question
I'd rather mods flesh out good ideas developers couldn't fully realize, not super mutant deaathclaws.

After all this talk of F76 lore raping, I kind of respect the New California team for doing their mod in such a way that it keeps lore raping to a minimum by setting it somewhere with little existing lore to rape.
I'd rather have Van Buren's cool stuff be explored......

They could have added some interesting lore (well, by Bethesda standards) in 76 it being the soonest after the bombs dropped, but they look to have decided to make something hollow.

I'm worried that 76 will be used as an excuse to just ignore Fallout in general for awhile.

Honestly, I'm not even sure I care anymore. Bethesda could shelve Fallout permanently at this point and it'd still be less of an affront than what they've done to it.

Of course it is, it's a fucking Bethesda game. This is like rain apologizing for being wet.
Thing is, they shouldn't HAVE to apologize. Why? Because they should have learned from their last half dozen game releases that they really need to do more testing to root out and fix all those fucking bugs and actually fixed the fucking bugs! No bugs, no need for apology. But Bethesda is Bethesda and they've proven time and again they're incapable of learning.
Lazy pieces of shit.

They can afford it because they have pretty much no competition.
Who else is there that makes big open world rpgs like they do?
The only hope for that atm is cdprojektred.

Also, why the Hell is the Frontier called the Frontier? Out of all the places, this should be the least like a "Frontier" for the NCR. It should have pretty easy and consitent control over that area.

I'm guessing it has something to do with all those snowing weather effects they were so eager to show off in the trailers. The snow so far north being like a barrier to further human habitation or something. It looks kind of silly at any rate, with all those Fallout Tactics tanks rolling around with janky pathfinding.

The frontier is going to be a fucking technical disaster, do you know why cars don't explode in New Vegas like they do in 3? It was disabled after testing revealed NV's janky engine couldn't handle them without crashing and that's vanilla unmodded NV. There's no way even a third of the visual effects portrayed in the Frontier trailers make it into the release.

I've been playing Wasteland 2 the last few days (The computer I had when I bought my copy was utter shit and wouldn't run it very well even at the lower graphical setting, and I just remembered I had it sitting in my GOG account unplayed) and it just makes me think "Fuck, I wish they had finished Van Buren." At this rate I'm looking forward to Wasteland 3 more than I will ever look forward to another Fallout game.

And I guess I'll be waiting until they hammer out the bugs in New California. My overmoded copy of NV fucks up enough as is.
