Fallout series

It looks like they really looked at the modding community for ideas to put into the game. I'm more than curious about a few things.

Can you only build settlements at predefined locations? How often do your settlements get attacked? Can I disassemble entire towns including inhabited one? What faction is willing to vertibird you around? Or was that vertibird on autopilot? Why are the super mutants original green? Does the minigun still need to be reloaded and disappear when holstered? Can the protagonist change their name? Is the Dog always with you or can you tell it to stay at home? Is that set of power armor special gear that isn't for everyday use?
Ok I'll stop now.

The fact that I can have all these questions is great. It means they are mixing things up and it won't be fallout 3 in Boston with better graphics.

Stayed up till 3 am here in the uk to watch it, no regrets!.

Overall impressions; very good. In fact the whole conference was good overall.
As for Fallout, yeah it's definitely a paradigm shift. If I'm gonna play the cynic, I'd say that some of the new features are in danger of making the player too op, and will dilute the struggling to survive aspect of the Fallout universe.
That said, weapon crafting looks superb. Interesting observation about the power armour is that it looks like it functions more like a vehicle now in terms of gameplay, and I would imagine it comes with some trade offs or drawbacks.

Roll on November.

MODDING FOR FALLOUT 4 ON XBOX ONE CONFIRMED
Microsoft conference was so good, but that part kind of fucking blew my mind. I honestly wonder how it will work, that seems like a weird thing to do.

I want DLC in which you explore other parts of New England. Particularly Rhode Island because we need representation. Imagine seeing all of our treasured landmarks like the Big Blue Bug or... Come to think of it, Rhode Island wouldn't really be a good idea. Maybe New Jersey.

I don't know how to feel about the game, for one hand it seems more polished compared to Bethesda's previous RPGs, and it seems that they focused in making the gunplay more satisfying compared to Fallout 3, in which the gunplay was probably one of the worst aspects of that game, but at the same time i really didn't liked that they simplified the conversations between the player and the NPCs, it seems that they are trying to do something like the Telltale adventure games with the conversations, which ends up feeling more restrictive in a game like Fallout.

The construction thing was actually pretty neat, but at the same time i don't see myself using that kind of stuff in the game, yet on a technical level i really liked it, and it makes me question if they are still using Gamebyro or not.

Oh well, i think it's just better to wait for the final product, overall it seems to be good, but the simplification of some things worries me at the same time.

As far as gamebryo goes, I did hear the creation engine they use is a modified gamebryo engine. As you said, the way dialogue was did come off as something derivative from a Telltale game (or Mass Effect if one thought it was kinda like that). It does make me wonder how they would handle dialogue though since it seems they only put in four options compared to other games where you had more than four if I recall correctly.

So I tried out the Fallout Shelter App. Sadly it's a buggy mess that crashes every few minutes (typical Bethesda). However I've noticed some interesting things. There are unlockable dwellers, weapons, and outfits (for your dwellers). Some of these are from FO4.

So far I've seen the T-60 power armor and there's a special dweller named "Laura Pratt" a high intelligence dweller who wears a "Republic Outfit" which is a Roman style toga with a leaf crown and golden arm bracelet. Since I can't find anything on her in the wiki I'm assuming she's a FO4 character. Looks like FO4 will have a Roman Republic-like faction.

The entire Fallout part of BE3, including stuff like concept art and the showcase of weapon modifications, armour customization and the construction system. Note the latter - you can literally disassemble whole buildings and construct new stuff from it.

I know it won't be possible but I want to deconstruct one of the skyscrapers, reprocess it and restore a pre-war town. :P

I can't wait for Fallout 4 it's getting me so hyped to play it and especially play with the power armor with a a F****** jetpack!!The dialogue does however look weak but it could be good with further gameplay footage idk. However the weapons and shit you can do to your gun and armor looks sooooooooooo amazing i can't wait to kill some Bawston Rawidas in my suped up power armor.

Also the song they use for the weapon gameplay is godlike.

EDIT:Brb gonna play New Vegas and kill some muties with the Solid Snake mod.

Unfortunately it looks to me like FO4 is streamlined in all the worst ways (dialogue, skills, etc.) making it even less possible to roleplay this time around than in 3. Bleh.

Yeah, I'm not liking that the dialog options gives you that "oh here's a vague two or three word description of what you're going to be saying" thing instead of the usual FO3/NV style where you know exactly what you're going to say before you click on it.

Super excited for everything else, though.

Oh, I don't know about the dialogue. New Vegas and FO3 gave you like four or five dialogue choices and half of them gave you the same result (I'm looking at you, Low-INT dialogue). As long as the spoken lines are good I won't complain.

Hyped Fallout 4, would love to get the Pip Boy Edition but it's looking like it's going to turn into another Majora's Mask Limited Edition NEW 3DS XL.

While I'm saving for a PS4 I'm trying to Platinum Fallout 3 before November.

Finally watched the full gameplay reveal from E3, and I am so hyped for this game now.

I'm a sucker for extensive customisation in games, and Bethesda really seem to have gone overboard in that particular facet of the development.

I really hope that this does not disappoint.

It's going to weird to say this, but I'm kind of looking forward for Fallout 4 despite having only played a little bit of Fallout 3. From the footage I saw of it, it looks rather solid and I really hope it doesn't have a noticeable amount of bugs ruining it. Also, I'm rather happy that they're not going to kill off the German Shepard.

(Woops, sorry, I read that as "I hope they don't kill off the German Shepard". That's what I get for not reading : I )

I doubt they will be scripted to die, but being the protagonist's dog is full of hazards. Force fields, Ian's SMG fire, the Enclave, and what have you. It's not easy being Dogmeat but at least you can build him a dog house.
