Anyway, I found myself scrolling through the back pages of the Nexus when I stumbled across this. What appeared at first to be a "lighthearted" joke quest about killing young Maxon then derailed into a mess of political spergery and a literal hit list of all the "fascists" in Fallouts 3 and NV. They also linked their podcast, which I'm not going to touch with a ten-foot pole tonight.

Getting my modlist ready for a NV playthrough. Anyone know if Theoverseer's quest mods are any good? I've heard them described as discount Someguy2000 mods.

They want to download a killable children mod just to kill that little shit Arthur Maxson? Are they that stupid?

The evil option for Broken Steel exists for a reason. You can nuke the brat and his ancestor's fanclub in one stroke, and it's an option available in the game, no mods required. Not to mention the fact that you can go around and kill all the BoS and Outcast forces you can find if you so much as wanted to.
 
I like siding with House because you don't get into discussions about ethics with someone faceless online. It's just straightforward stability and progress. The only complaints I usually receive are how people interpret words like "progress" thanks to current year well-poisoning.

For me, the Legion is the most interesting to discuss, because they're the most heavily misunderstood. I understand why that is, they never quite shake off that first impression of "hey, I slaughtered an entire town for the fuck of it", and that means that a lot of people never bother to really examine them beyond "something something right-wing Roman LARPers".

That mod just reads like both a shitty fanfiction written by an edgy 10 year old sonic fan on deviantart and a total cope over any Bethesda Fallout game. You also missed their other mods which are totally not fetishes pretending to be lore friendly expansions. There's so many fucking spergs on nexus and a couple of them are nearly worthy of threads of their own.

These 2 retards have been shitting up the nexus for a while with very bizzare "mods" that just devolve to lore sperging or adding in "sex positive" drivel to fallout

this sums it up pretty well, its a magnum opus of very dubious patches that try to make all sorts of shitty and outdated mods work together by doing pretty much nothing, including shit like New California and TTW
they're a great read and dig into because i cant quite tell if its a big autistic troll op or if they're honestly retarded

they had a big black list of meanie fascists at some point that included people who just told them to fuck off or that their mods didnt work, that got them banned until they cooled their tism and removed everything

Might make a small write up, their autism is very entertaining

The rest of their mods that dont involve copious amount of sex and rape are just fairly autistic and "innocent" patches that are very pointless like the ones for new california, or explaining lore for pointless reasons like so

These mods are mostly just more or less empty or useless scripts that do nothing besides awkardly bridge together mods that most of the time end up breaking, or adding very small and autistic explanations for every single minute detail of quests and sidequests, like dogmeat's name or support for very old, niche and terrible weaboo/gameplay mods

i for some reason cant get the fucking google doc manifesto they did to justify their playthrough, but it exists out there and i need to find it

I actually chuckled at "Being raped adds +20 to Survival." If you look beyond the name of the skill they're essentially saying that getting raped makes you a better cook.

As someone playing an ex-militia survivalist, I really wish my poor guy could get raped so I could tan all these damn golden gecko hides I got trudging through Crescent Canyon.
 
Started playing FO3 again like I've been wanting. Spent an hour troubleshooting to get it working then downloaded a bunch of mods. I end up quicksaving every 2 minutes since the anti-crash/stutter mods work pretty well but there's still a CTD now and then. Didn't install Fellout since the nights are just too dark and that piss green/yellow filter is just too nostalgic.

Loving it; I feel like I'm home again.

Can't wait to do it all again for New Vegas.

Details don't matter. They don't matter, they don't ever matter, and unless it's apart of the fucking story, it WILL NEVER matter unless you can somehow weave it into the greater narrative. Star Wars had this fucking problem and it shows all over the place. I don't need to fucking know where Han Solo got his fucking boots. You don't need to explain EVERY MINUTIAE. That's bad fucking writing, in an attempt to cover up your own shortcomings with "world building" instead of letting your story and characters speak for themselves. I'm not gonna ask where this one random waster npc you made for your mod got his fucking scarf. If theres a story reason for it, you will make it come up at a reasonable time.


Sorry about that. I've just come across so many badly written mods that do this. This autistic attention to details that offer nothing to me, or the person who plays it. Not even Americanweirdo, that goofy dumbass modder with a penchant for the strange and 4th wall breaking, does this.

NV is buggy as hell, but it took little effort to get it running even with the fan patches.

The latter. New Vegas was even worse than 3 at launch, but more love has gone into unfucking the back end.
