If she has bipolar, like some people on here suspect, would an SSRI even be an appropriate drug for her? Aren't antipsychotics the kind of drug usually given? (Not a doctor IRL or the internet!)

I could see Hamber huffing and puffing her way into a drop-in clinic and saying she was on "this and that" when she was a teenager and the doctors just prescribing her something similar or even the same pill. Lots of American doctors seem to hand out pills like TicTacs, especially to people who have medical coverage. I suspect she is on some sort of Medicare, so the doctors see a sack of money when she waddles in.

I'm not a doctor either, but I want to say it depends on the type of bipolar and it's usually a cocktail of drugs including SSRI's, anti-psychotics and anti-convulsants. Oh, and from what I seem to remember she doesn't carry any form of insurance. She couldn't qualify for Medicare or Medicaid and from what I remember she definitely didn't sign up under the ACA because people kept suggesting that she do that when the gov was trying to repeal it.

When did she ever tried to get those jobs she talked about in this video?
- When she was living with Kasey, his mom told her to either get a job or go to school. She chose school, enrolled for a semester, got the money (that she "didn't know she had to pay back") and that was that.
- When she was with Kristle, she was too busy enjoying the money Kristle's parents were giving them. According to Amber (which means it might be a lie) K's parents even paid for a personal trainer.
- With Destiny, she was busy forcing her to take her to her job, and bumming there all day. Allegedly Amber was eventually hired part time, and then they moved to KY where she proceeded to leech off Destiny's mother until they moved out. (I suspect she only got a job in KY because she was nagging Destiny about getting their own place, and Destiny probably said that for that to happen they both needed a job).
- She sure as hell didn't try to get a job at Torrid after moving in with Becky. It's a two hour drive each way.

It's interesting when you list it all like that, it becomes clear that the only successes AL has ever had were ones people forced her in to, kicking and screaming.

It definitely could be, but keep in mind she didn't pay taxes until this year and you have to apply with tax returns to prove income or lack thereof. She would definitely qualify for the ACA which I'm fairly certain is the third option, but I just don't think she bothered because I think she would have mentioned it. She puts every other boring thing in her vlogs that happens in her life. I think she's on Lexapro now (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and the generic of that is a little over $7.00 and considering the magical singing doctor gave her a clean bill of health (allegedly) that's all she takes.

The main point is this, who gives a shit what some rando called you? It doesn't negate the fact that Amber lacks a thick skin. By acknowledging that so much, all she's doing is letting people know that getting under her skin is just as easy as calling her a 'beanbag'. She doesn't seem bipolar to me. Bipolar has very clear delineations between the manic and depressed states. I think it's another one of her self diagnoses, along with the supposed OCD and binge eating disorder. I think with her we're looking at personalities issues stemming from her foster childhood. Personality develops in childhood, and becomes stable in late teens. Only a therapist could help with that.

When she got the antidepressants prescription, it's likely that the doctor asked if she would get an appointment with a therapist, and she lied and say she would, just she like routinely stalls and lies to her viewers about the mystical therapy appointment that never comes. The lack of responsibility, the denial, the eternal stalling, it's a big core of all her issues.

Typically, an SSRI can cause mania if used on someone with bipolar disorder. As some others have said, I don’t see her as being bipolar as much as I see her just being delusional about her situation or faking it for the camera because she’s GOALS, GORL

She didn’t notice what the guy said though. One of her “friends” on Snapchat asked her about it. She made the video because she was called out on Snapchat, but not because of the dudes. In a way you are right-she’s letting people know her thin is skin. But because she thought the Snapchat people admired her. She doesn’t care about those men.

But tbh, I don’t think her skin is that thick. I think the Snapchat person just made her realize she had a topic to chat about. The fact that a 500 lb chick didn’t think of the topic of being made fun in public until now shows her skin isn’t that thick.

The girl loves herself. She blamed others for noticing she’s fat, not herself. She doesn’t see the disgusting thing we see, she hadn’t looked in the background of every video and watched people do double takes like we have. To use a word she loves, Amber literally has nothing to talk about anymore. That was probably the only reason she made that video.

Yes, the words captured on camera did give her pause, but this isn't the first time, nor will it be the last, that Amber hears comments that might or not be related to her. It happens when you're 250+lb at 11 years of age - kids are way meaner than grown ups.
She never mentioned it before because:
- she has a tiny pea-brain, and
- has heard similar and worse things before which she ignores (otherwise her tiny pea brain wouldn't be able to hold any other info and she'd need to hire someone to tell her when to breathe)

In her own head, Amber is a sassy bitch with sharp wit. In real life, she's a blob with the mental acuity of an amoeba. She's heard mean-spirited comments before and her reaction is probably the same we saw on the video in question - she'll look around to find her posse. If they're around she might snap back, otherwise she'll "make out like a ninja" (her words when she left the restaurant).

The doctor did suggest therapy (probably also suggested further testing). Although Amber assumed it meant the doctor would do the work for her - schedule with a therapist and then call Amber to let her know. I wouldn't put it pass Amber to expect the doctor called her, in person, on the day of the appointment to coax her to go.

Ironically, it's those who CAN change their physical appearances that whine and complain most in the Body Positive movement. What is annoying are those fatasses who shame people who are dieting and trying to get healthy for not being "body positive". It's as if they don't acknowledge health and fitness as a form of body love. Just a complete victim mentality and utter self-delusion.

I think its difficult for people like Amber to defect from the convent of Our Lady of Perpetual Victimhood. In my opinion, when a person finds some form of tragedy to use as a crutch it just becomes a convenient excuse for them not to succeed in certain aspects of their life; when in reality it's just perpetuating their own failure.
I would say that someone needs to explain to Amber (not that she would listen) and others who adhere to this line of thinking, that it does nothing for your self-imagine to define your whole existence and self-identity around your life's tribulations. If it's not being used in a positive way, example John Walsh's son being kidnapped and subsequently beheaded, and Walsh basically starting a revolution in regards to laws affecting child trafficking/ missing children etc then keep your trap shut and stop waxing-emo about how hard life is for you.
Not to preach but join the fucking club, everyone has some facet of their life that was fucked up at one point, and still managed to not let it drag them down into self-immolation via the self-kindled dumpster fire that has become their life.

See, the 89 pounds I 100% believe, but (if I remember correctly) she omits a huge fact about that situation pretty much every time she brings it up: that she only lost that weight because at the time, her diet was being controlled and restricted, not because she actually has/had any semblance of self control or strength of will. She clings to that number but not the truth behind it. So she spouts "89 ELBEES LOST U GUISE" to try and prove that she has done that and could do that again if she wanted, without actually being honest about how she got there.

While I agree with what you're saying, I'm still confused. How does all that mesh with Amber constantly being in denial about her weight? If in her mind she's "not that bad" still "dainty" still "cute af" etc. then how does she at the same time have an identity that consists of nothing more than being a struggling oppressed fatass? How can she be in denial about that which she also uses to define herself entirely? wow
