The Father Call. (Who played him, btw?) The Matthew Noble one was good too, although I don't know if that counts, since it was Borb, rather than Chris.

I don't think it's Liquid. Matt has some sort of speech impediment that Liquid doesn't.

Matthew has a speech impediment? Elaborate. I've listened to that tape many times and I've never heard any sort of impediment.

I think you might be mixed up. Matthew and Liquid Chris' real life person speak well, while Liquid Chris speaks in a manner that imitates Chris' own impediments.

Haven't you noticed that Matt echoes the last words in some of his sentences?

He was probably talking/joking to Kasey, who was standing next to him during the recording. Haven't you ever called someone in the presence of your friends and repeated what you've said to them right after you've said it? If you listen to the whole call, you can hear him break character several times to laugh at Chris.

That was Liquid Chris. If I recall correctly, the Matthew voice is closer to his real voice than his TRUE and HONEST Christian Weston Chandler voice
Nah, Liquid's real voice isn't that deep. Matthew wasn't anyone that the public would know. (Or, maybe if you were really into the IRC (and later mumble) scene, back in the day, you might, but that's unlikely)

And I'm going to be honest, but I do laugh at the prequel to Julie reveals herself and the actual call. Bluespike telling Chris to cut himself, burn his house down and shove the medallion up his ass isnt't funny and I turn it off before then, but there are some real gems before it that I think get overlooked.
It's been a very long time since I've listened to the Max/Julie calls. Mostly because I can't stand listening to Chris literally whine into the phone for minutes at a time. Like, he's not even saying words, he's just making strange, whale-like noises. There are some choice moments, but I really can't get passed the howling.

Huh. you know all this time I thought he was Liquid.
Liquid wasn't a small guy, necessarily. Heh, I'm a small guy. But the guy who was Matthew was a big guy and he definitely matched his voice.

Like others have said, the Father Call and the ABL calls are definitely the best among them all. In them Chris reveals so much as who he is as a person: his insecurities, his lies, his warped views, his core values. It's hard to pick "the best" among the ABL calls because each one of them has good moments, but...

From ABL Call #6:

Alec: So you're going to violently kill Simonla, right? And show it?

Chris: That will happen, yes.

Alec: Okay. Um, I suggest fire. I think that's always a good way to go to deal with characters that you want to get rid of. It's just, it's very visually, y'know, draws people in. Everybody loves fire. Sometimes I light people on fire in my comic, and every time I do, I get ALL this fanmail, just praising that one panel or that one page.

Chris: Yeah.. well, I will think of tha- I will think of something. I will think about it. Alright...

Oh, that's delightfully evil.

I liked the Lars call. Hearing him trying to talk to someone so out of his element was both offensive and hilarious.

Fair enough. From memory, the male voice at the end of the Kacey breakup call (the one where Barb calls her a bitch), Liquid Chris, sounded a lot like Matthew, but my memory could be playing tricks on me.

But if you say he's not, so be it.

I'm no badass, I'm just a sperg that hoarded and saved and bunch of shit. I'm the Barb of CWC audio and Asperpedia comics.
Well, all the same - thanks for holding onto these. Speaking for myself, it has gotten me through many hours of long, hard torturous work in the office.

Chris seems waaaaaaaay to eager to show his dick.
Also, I think one of these days I'll make an abridged version of the Kacey calls. Cut out all the bullshit and leave in the gems...
I REALLY like that idea. If you want to spearhead that possible project, more power to ya. If not, I might just have to take a crack at it.

Like everyone else, I do love the Father Call, but the post-Emily-Date call was telling as well. But I really like the Matthew Noble Call--while Chris wasn't involved in that call, it said an awful fucking lot about Bob'n'Barb's conspiracy theories and how their decrepit brains were interpreting the trolling and Chris's behaviour.
