Favorite cut content in games

The fuck is a "Bunko?"

Swindling people with things like fraud, forgery, counterfeiting, fake goods, stuff like that. I guess you were going to investigate that too.

I wondered if that was a cut department when I played and on being promoted to a new desk a guy said something like "So you worked your way up here from Bunko?" or something to that effect.

The entire video game "Prey 2". You know, the one that got canned in favor of another system shock clone because of Bethesda trying to pressure the dev into a buyout. The first video comment box has comments from an ex-dev explaining part of what went on.
Duke Nukem Forever 2001 is another candidate, apparently some 3d realms people have the beta stored on some archival HDDs and Randy Pitchford is looking into releasing it apparently.

Its not exactly cut content but you gotta love that Space Station Silicon Valley folks messed up and made the final level of their game (which, bear in mind, was a N64 era 3D platformer so you only got like ten total) un-enterable unless you had a Gameshark or played on emulator.

The rapey voice content in Portal 2 that makes it clear that GladOS was forcibly uploaded into her form from Caroline and that is why she hates absolutely everyone. It's good it was deleted because it made it more obvious than it needed to be. It was better to have to figure it out slowly, but it was pretty fucked up content.

According to rumor, there was also content that J.K. Simmons, the voice actor for Cave Johnson, refused to record because it disturbed him too much, and this was a guy who tattooed a swastika on a dude's ass and raped him in Oz.

What they had originally was more interesting than the final product.

Far as cut content goes, Demon Souls had some interesting things in terms of cut conent. There was a world they would have included and some enemy models such as snake men (which would predate Dark Souls though still being second to King's Field: The Ancient City) and other furries you would have been able to fight.
Speaking of Demon Souls, Father Gascoigne in Bloodborne has unused lines linking the two games.

Those fucking mimic enemies scare the shit out of me, and it's great. I'm having flashbacks to the shambling reaverbots from the second Megaman Legends every time I look at them.

Souls in general is the king of cut content, but as much as it pains me to be taking the opportunity from @Jaimas , I feel compelled to bring to light the more recent case of discovery coming the dedicated prospecting community of Bloodborne. I can't recall at this time whether or not it had been specified back on the Soulsborne thread, but a loosely connected team of miners managed to use the Chalice Dungeon system to generate several dungeon zones full of dummied enemies, bosses, and unused environments that would have hinted at the Dungeons themselves being far more interwoven with the story than we got at release. Nothing especially new of course for this series as a whole given may games tend to go through multiple builds of story and gameplay before the team will eventually settle on what they agree upon as being 'most complete' due to either lack of time or drive.

What was found did not fail to pique the interest of the fans.

Ah yeah, Gascoigne saying umbasa. Had From Software kept it in, either it would be a very loose link or an easter egg. Shame they didn't include it in. Speaking of Demon's Souls
One cut item was "soul of Father Gascoigne". That honestly could give us the idea this would of been a DS sequel before being its own game with Lovecraft instead of demons.

No secret that I have a BULLY obsession, this only seals the deal for me since the game had SO MANY features either taken out or left hidden in the code for modded access.

It was supposed to have deaths (alternate outcomes) but given that you play as an adolescent child, never would have made it past the censors.

my fav cut content is like all the stuff locked away in Ocarina of Time, esp the whole Ura Zelda thing, thats always intrigued me.

Stop and Swap in Banjo Kazooie also intrigued me, esp after learning how to get the eggs and key
To this day Ura is still like my Holy Grail. I simply need to know what happened to it.

I'm still unconvinced that this is what came of Ura considering how big the plans for it were and considering Master Quest is just a bunch of redone dungeons.

The thing is, The Master Quest is basically what happened when the 64DD version failed to materialize.

Nintendo had the 64DD thing set for some really high expectations, I remember reading Nintendo Power when they were blowing glitter up the 64DD's ass.

When that project crapped out, they salvaged what they could from it and The Master Quest was it.

The cut content for Crash Twinsanity is almost heart-breaking. The game has a whole section in the concept art dedicated to all the stuff that was cut. There was supposed to be a bunch of different dimensions instead of just the two in the final game, a lot more Cortex and Mecha-Bandicoot levels, some added vehicle sections, and entire characters such as Evil Coco. I distinctly remember one piece of concept art in which Crash was wielding a massive sword. And what makes a lot of it bizarre is that there does exist character models and voice recordings for all this cut content, indicating that much of it was cut really late in development.

By itself, Crash Twinsanity is a fun but very, very short Crash game that's probably the best post-Naughty Dog game, but when you look at all the stuff that was cut from the game, you begin to realize how deeply unfinished the game actually is. What we got was good, but it could have been so much more.
