I remember my first intro to Google was back in '99 when my dad told me about this cool, fast website he heard about at work called "Google" that just looked up websites.

You reminded me of something else, invites to GMail.

If the chans had their own version of a Greek epic, it was HWNDU. Being there to see the whole saga live, from Queens, to ABQ,, to the capture-the-flag op... nothing else can compare to the amount of effort and man hours spent by a bunch of autists just to troll one shithead actor and his dumb "art" project.

Netscape.

I remember having to do history reports and I had to research online without Google. It was interesting.

Hell, I remember the first time I used a computer in the 90s (I was looking up the movie Tombstone), I remember coming across IMDB, which is crazy to think about.
 
StumbleUpon and finding Doodle God.
Playing the various Papa's flash games, the restaurant ones.
And all sorts of other flash-based games.

When search didn't have goddamn sponsored posts.

I was in the room when my friend's little brother tried to download hacks/cheats for Counter Strike: Source. I walked over to try and warn him just in time to see him discover meatspin dot com lol.
