Favorite Youtubers?

I also like Defunctland and the guy who does the Nick Knack Retrospective
Both channels are excellent picks, though I don't care for the Nick Knack guy's stance on certain shows I loved (his Wokeness shows through).

CallMeKevin. Hes so handsome and funny.

I also like Defunctland and the guy who does the Nick Knack Retrospective

I second both CallMeKevin and Defunctland.

Defunctland: I really like his style of videos and he has the ability to make me interested in things I don't really care about when he covers them.

CallMeKevin: He is legitimately very funny to me, he made me actually want to watch gaming videos after a long hiatus from them. I don't really like RTGame despite their similarities. If you haven't already I would suggest checking out GrayStillPlays he is an american who makes a similar type of content and I really enjoy his stuff.

Someone else who I like though I wouldn't really say he is my favorite youtuber is Company Man. He has a few different series, one where he talks about the decline of companies that are on the verge of completely shutting down, a series where he talks about how big certain companies actually are, one where he talks about fads, company comparisons, the turbulent histories and various scandals. I found him less than a week after his first video was uploaded "The Decline of Kmart..What Happened?" at that time I with an unexpected tragic event in my life and it was a good distraction from what was going at the time and I do find his videos really interesting.

A shitload of previously mentioned channels (Ashens, Oddity Archive, LGR, Technology Connections, Fredrik Knudsen, Defunctland) are so good that they deserve yet another shoutout.

A few great channels that I haven't seen mentioned yet (tbh I'm a little surprised that a couple of these haven't come up in this thread until now):

bald and bankrupt - British travel vlogger with a hard-on for the Soviet Union. Speaks fluent Russian. Gives zero fucks.

Life of Boris - the Slaviest Slav that ever Slaved. Has several ongoing video themes, including cooking and coding. Formerly a gaming YouTuber.

Retro Man Cave - reminds me of a British Bob Ross, mainly due to how chill he is in his videos. For those of us that spurge over retrogaming hardware just as much as we do over the games themselves.

Daniel Ibbertson a.k.a. DJ Slope - retrogamer, video game historian, crowdfunding enthusiast. Has been known to collaborate with Ashens, as well as Larry Bundy Jr and RMC. His Kickscammer videos often include lolcows. I'm genuinely surprised that he hasn't rated a mention yet.

TechMoan - another Brit, mainly into retro hifi gear. He also owns several Muppets, which he uses to great effect in his outro sketches.

AvE - potty mouthed Canuck. I don't even know how to begin describing this guy, although he refers to himself as Uncle Bumblefuck. That's probably as good a description as any. Mainly tech, engineering, power tool teardowns and creative profanity.

The Critical Drinker

Brief Case (Some will find his monotone narration irritating but I don't mind it)

tgfbro videos might look from the thumbnail and titles like trashy normie "challenge" shit but they're unironically the most powerful channel on youtube

I found this guy by a chance recommendation, and I gotta say, I haven't laughed so hard at Youtube videos in such a long time:

Funny and insightful.

I like Tommy C to some extent, but his streams can get kind of annoying, especially his laugh. Quite frankly, if we're speaking of "white noise" to listen to in the background, here's my recommendations:

^ Checked out Criminally Listed and it's good but I can only stand to listen to the videos on 1.25 speed because the narrator talks so S L O O O W W W.

Well here's a bunch of shit I'm subscribed to for anyone who is as bored as I am.

I've been listening to Doug TenNapel's (Creator of Earthworn Jim etc) videos with Charls Carroll (formerly of MDE) and they make for some interesting background noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgqq5hIIFA0&list=PLc5u_2IKTg0qKYpH5-IPKg5-CgtR18CCI&index=3

Charls Carroll's YouTube channel is also good background noise though I believe he is more active on Twitch which I don't really use.

William Maranci makes weird and wonderful mashups of popular songs.

Jrose11 has recently been doing videos where he beats the original pokemon red/blue using only one pokemon and rates how good they are for this challenge. Pretty autistic but hey, nostalgia and lockdown boredom I guess.

TheRealJims makes videos analyzing Simpsons (mostly classic Simpsons thankfully) again, I mostly like this because nostalgia and lockdown boredom.

Genosamuel2.1 is posting Chris Chan Comprehensive History videos. I think they're well made and worth watching even if you've been following Chris for years.

Trash Theory talks about music n sheeit. Doesn't really post that often but the videos are usually of a high quality.

I've got more but that's probably enough for one post.

Yeah, the narrator's weird, monotone voice is regular gag among the comments sections usually. In his older videos he tended to sound normal, and then he randomly started doing this dull, slow voice. Like if you look up some of his stuff from 2017-2018, he just sounds like a normal Canadian dude.
