I love all doggos (except for Shit Bulls), but I do have a few favorites.
Small breeds: Dachshunds, Toy Fox Terriers, Corgis, Boston Terriers, and Bulldogs.
Large breeds: Great Danes, Bull Mastiffs, Irish Wolfhounds, Leonbergers, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Dogue de Bordeaux, English Mastiffs.
But lately I've come to favor designer breeds, especially for large dogs since there is more genetic diversity and less likely to have genetic health problems. I really like Gladiator Danes, North American Mastiffs, American Mastiffs, and especially Great Weimars.
I currently have a two year old Great Weimar and he's tied for the best doggo I've ever had. Great Weimars are pretty much 50/50 Great Dane/Weimaraner with a little Labrador added in early in the breed's creation. They were bred to be a flexible companion who is happy to do whatever with their people, from lounging on the couch to hiking in the mountains, just so long as they're with their people. Some have even been trained to be gun dogs, since Weimaraners are both retrievers and pointers.
My Great Weimar is named Odin. He just turned two on 1 May. He's just the best dog. He loves everyone he meets, he's got a sweet goofy personality, he loves to go for rides and on adventures, and he's great with my kids. He will let Baby Dude do whatever to him and just patiently sit there. He's also really smart. It only took me about a week to housebreak him, and he's the first dog I've been able to teach to "shake", and he shakes with the proper/right paw.
