I have particular color requirements on the torsos, legs and hips, and Scratchy's Tail is perfect for most of their tails.
Sonichu
Handmade in America to the most exacting standards since 2000.

As other people have pointed out, with his tugboat, maybe augmented by the occasional eBay sale (if Chris gets smarter about running his "business") Chris could scrape together enough to be able to afford a studio or 1-bedroom apartment, especially if he looks in the smaller towns surrounding Charlottesville, where the rent is likely to be a lot lower.

If Chris were a little better with his personal hygiene, and less obnoxious over all, he could probably find a roommate or two and get a nice larger apartment, maybe even a small house.

Getting away from Barb would improve his life immeasurably. From what we've seen, Barb can take care of herself without Chris, and she'll be just fine if he leaves. If he ever wants to salvage what's left of his life, he should leave as soon as he can. This should be his priority. Barb is toxic and she's ruining any chance Chris has of living a normal life.

If, by some miracle Chris managed get his finances sufficiently in order to pull this off, then a lot of us here would be cheering him on and wishing him well, myself included.

Made a new post
With the recent bullying I am receiving yesterday and today, it is the comic book forced ending and early retirement all over again.

All of these most vicious vibes, I am feeling less inspired to even consider going back to the comic books and all of that.

Why do you all have to bully people so viciously and needless. To the Left with ALL OF YOU.

Because new Sonichu was ever a possibility.

Uh oh, now Chris is threatening to retire his eBay shop, JUST LIKE DA COMICS.

This. Can't stress enough how pivotal Barb making Chris deviate from the norm is. It goes back to Chris begging Cole to take care of Barb. It was never something he had to deal with while Bob was still around. He was able to do his childish shit routine whenever and however he wanted. Now he has an added responsibility in the form his mother, and it is making his ability to do his normal pointless routine rather difficult.

I'm amazed that Chris hasn't thought of nagging Barb to leave the couch and actually go out socializing in hopes of (yes, I'm well aware that this is a ridiculous idea) finding a new husband-slash-caretaker just so he can go back to his routines of endless vidya, Lego, and loitering in malls and department stores with a freshly made new attraction sign.

...

...oh my god, the thought of Barb parked on a mall bench with her own attraction sign just came to mind.

Is that what he was going for? I thought he was going "I won't make new comics." Because if so he REALLY fucks over people that paid for commissions. Not sure what ebay could do but they better request refunds now.

Thought insurance covered that for at least another month

I suspect that either the insurance company turned off the free rent spigot, or he's referring to the payments that still have to be paid towards 14 BLC, even if it is nothing more than a mildewing pile of lumber now.

Okay, I think I finally found out the origin of "to the left".

http://history1900s.about.com/od/holocaust/a/auschwitz.htm

Families, who had disembarked together, were quickly and brutally split up as an SS officer, usually a Nazi doctor, ordered each individual into one of two lines. Most women, children, older men, and those that looked unfit or unhealthy were sent to the left; while most young men and others that looked strong enough to do hard labor were sent to the right. Unbeknownst to the people in the two lines, the left line meant immediate death at the gas chambers and the right meant that they would become a prisoner of the camp. (Most of the prisoners would later die from starvation, exposure, forced labor, and/or torture.)

I think we may need to reexamine that "Chris is not worse than Hitler" rule.

Of course, he didn't include any apology to the folks that never received their merchandise and made no mention of refunds.

Still. let's be realistic. Chris isn't going to be any less well off. He and Barb were managing before he tried the whole auction thing and they'll manage even if Chris throws in the towel. Who knows, he still may be able to buy Lego after all of his financial obligations are met; just smaller, less frequent purchases. If he want's one of the larger sets, then he'll just have to learn how to budget his money so that he can save up for it (like most of us do).

At least the commission crash is finally starting. I'm surprised it took this long.

Chris could have just announced his eBay auction and left out the whole thing about needing money for bills and Barb's teeth. (Most eBay folk don't tell you what they intend to do with their proceeds.) If he did this, he would probably have sold the same amount of merchandise, and people wouldn't be bitching at him.
It's just not Chris if he isn't fishing for pity and sympathy, though.

 "Hmm, yeah, that ev- lying, slanderous JEW Michael Snyder is, uh, responsible for my current misf- my curren- by bad situations that are happening now."

Taking peoples money and not delivering what was basically promised = A Ok
Demanding money from total strangers to fulfill unmet promises = A Ok
Requesting a refund for unfufilled order = BULLYING

Not a bad theory, but given Chris's shaky grasp of history, there may be an alternative origin. Based on what we've seen of his schoolwork, it looks like he slept through most of his history class.
