FB 1/8 - Chris hates Sega for forcing him to attack somebody

I wonder how many people who saw this news-clip twenty-odd years ago suspected that the cute little boy in it would end up committing felony assaults over Sonic?

Anchorwoman: Well, we've got a little more for ya, including what Sonic the Hedgehog means to a very special Charlottesville man. And the significance goes way beyond the high score and videos.

Finally, tonight, Sonic the Hedgehog is running wildly in the Chandler household this weekend. Thirty-two-year-old Christian Chandler of Charlottesville was the loser in an unprovoked pepper spraying spree. Christian is the only tomgirl nationally to receive a weekend in jail for violating a store ban in the pursuit of new video game equipment. For his mother, it’s just another example of how "well" he's doing. According to his lawyer, Christian is an adult autistic child. This past fall, of his own initiative, he began freaking the fuck out about a minor change to a favorite cartoon character.

So I guess if we're plotting Chris' life against NIN's The Downward Spiral, we're in the middle of Big Man with a Gun (Big Girl with a Can?).
This is a very interesting theory to me. Perhaps my favorite album, I can see some interesting parallels here. A Warm Place could be his stay in protective custody, Eraser could be his emergence from jail (or prison) and the deterioration of his relationship with Barb, Reptile could be one final gal-pal that genuinely touched him just to crush his spirit, The Downward Spiral could be the moment he takes out Barb's SNS and places it in his chest, and Hurt could be the moment of clarity that shock, pain and impending death give to OPL.

I am no psychiatrist but I am fairly certain that our boy Chris may have Schizophrenia since it seems he cannot discern what is real from what is not real and his paranoia, even further back when he stated he kept hearing "Chris is gay" in his head. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizophrenia I would say this is probably a little bit accurate quite possibly pairing itself along with his Autism.
