This is so retarded. The “concept” “cha bu duo” is the mandarin phrase 差不多, which translates to the English phrase “more or less”. It’s a phrase used in Taiwan and in China. It’s not some grand philosophy of the mainland Chinese.

The reason Chinese manufacture junk for export is because that’s what western managers are asking them to make. You really think western managers are going to pay 10% more for better quality goods? They don’t care about quality, they’re just going with the lowest bidder or they wouldn’t be buying from China. Chinese manufacturers know this and behave accordingly.

IIRC last time someone did the math the complete gender change process starts at $150,000 all included but it can easily go above that with all the complications and the usual malpractice.

Needless to say its a huge business.
