The leading theory is that he purchased the fake leg for his short lived Project 7 series he filmed. There were other props he bought and never used for the series and the fake leg is believable because the plot of the series is that DSP was kidnapped and the leg could have been a future prop.

Steve should have just called his bluff on wanting to be paid to take the polygraph tests. He grumbled about how he'd be even more out of pocket after flying over, paying the FBI guy etc then needing to pay phil on top. What Steve should have done was open up the floor to the detractors so they could pay phil's faggot fee to Steve who could transfer over it to phil after the deed was done.

If you're asking why detractors would want to help bankroll it and actually give phil money.. most probably wouldn't but some would and they'd also be convinced he'd fail. The bigger picture would have been seeing phil agree to it, starting to squirm and then obviously cooking up some other bullshit excuse so that he could back out of it. Because there's no way even if he had been paid there on the spot that he'd let this guy into his house to "prove" he's a not liar. Not just because he himself knows he's a liar but also because that's one of my fav phil quotes of all time "I can't prove I'm not a liar because it would ruin my life!".

It would just have been funny to see him consider taking the bait of detractor dahllurz being told you're gonna own the haters so hard king cuz they're gonna pay you to redeem yourself. they're paying the king to felt themselves it's the greatest comeback story. And there is absolutely no way he is that flexible without tearing a ligament and destroying that knee. I don't think gymnasts can even turn their own leg upward.

I dunno. I just sat down in a chair and tried to do this and I can do the same thing with either leg without really straining or feeling too much of a stretch. It's just a really weird looking maneuver so I think that's what throws people off when they look at Phil doing it. I didn't find it particularly difficult or feel much of a stretch until I pulled my foot in closer to my body so it was touching my sternum.
I did take like 8 years of gymnastics lessons as a kid and do a daily full body stretching routine, but I think other people could probably accomplish a similar position if they were wearing loose pajama pants. Just sit in a chair, cross your legs with your ankle at your knee, and then use you hands to pick your leg up to mid chest level.
