Nice, Fatal Fury is sick. Glad to see SNK is finally realizing how to put background humans in stages of their 3D games and have it not look like shit (though those background fellas are still noticeably at a lower kinda jumpy framerate). As much as I like KoF15 and I think it's models for characters improved alot they look great + animate very well... it's stages fucking suck. Which is a shame because SNK games historically have had some of the most, if not the most, beautiful stages. But KoF 15 stages are like "lets put some cheering guys in the background, but they'll be 2D renders of 3D models, make them run at like 1/3rd the rest of the games framerate then also give them like only 7 frames of animation. Yeah that's great. Okay, now lets take those groups and to simulate crowd diversity, lets just run them all back at different speeds. Ohhhh nice". It honestly makes my eyes hurt, so I just stick to fighting at the Chinese pond stage.

SNK characters animated well in KoF14, but were modeled kinda poorly by the standards of other 3D games. In KoF15 they figured out modeling and the animation is still nice, but stages blow. But with Fatal Fury, SNK might finally have entered the modern age of 3D visuals that they entered so late because of what a - gorgeous - but fucking expensive, time consuming, detriment the KoF12 and 13 spritework was.

Those Fatal Fury stages though don't only look good, I'd say maybe great. Now their next step is to make it look like the characters are actually fighting in the stage. Alot of games fuck this one up, where stages just feel like backdrops we're fighting on top of rather than environments the characters are in. I like to be hopeful of new releases though. Null always says nobody likes a negative nancy, so those people who always shit on SNK games for "looking terrible" just because it's mainstream to shit on SNK can be ignored, I'm hoping the new Fatal Fury is cool.

If anyone is not too well versed on the history of KoF12 and 13 artwork and are interested, you should read this page about it. It's really cool and impressive what they did with 12 and 13, but man it was such an undertaking that the games are infamous for the cast missing half of their specials and every character missing like 1 normal they used to have, at least. As gorgeous are 12 and 13 were, there's a good reason they don't go back to it, so the people saying "they should just make games look like 13 again" don't know what they're talking about.

I feel like older games never had an issue with making the characters feel like they're part of the stage and like it's an actual environment, but for some reason, around 2007ish, alot of anime games started doing 2D/3D mixes for stages, and the clashing styles between characters and stages just looks wrong and off. Or they use sprite work for both, but the characters and stages feel like they're not using the same artstyle or resolutions or something, and it fails to feel like environments rather than flat backdrops. The only game I can think off of the top of my head which does 3D staged with 2D character sprites very well is Under-Night. French Bread really have beautiful spritework, and the modeling of the stages is so well done that it really does feel like an environment that those characters sprites are a part of. The art design of UNI is really wonderful. Wild that Melty Type Lumina tries to do the same thing and fails because the stages being 3D really really stands out and it just looks wrong and fucking bad. For some reason they've pulled it off the 3D stages with 2D sprites better than anyone else for UNI, and it looks so off in TL. Though, the character sprites in TL are still gorgeous. French Bread really do have the best modern character spritework and animation of 2D games, IMO.

First of all that ass munch doesn't even know what game Terry & Mai are from, Fatal Fury.
They just also appear in KoF.
Second, that terrible "Saudi money" is what lets SNK stay relatively unscathed unlike DEI enriched diversity fighter 6.

Mohammad bin Salman is the Saudi prince that bought something like a 90% stake in SNK.
He's apparently not a nice man if you do a search for his name.
All I know is he's so far let SNK keep it's japanese identity and that's how we like it.
Far as I'm concerned capcom hasn't had any good new characters since Juri and C. Viper so may as well let your roster start having "imports" to keep it interesting barely a year into it's existence.

I mean even before 6 they were doing the imports, it's just that before they were doing it with their own IP's that don't get touched anymore (Final Fight, Rival Schools). Now their dipping outside their bubble, and in hindsight, KOF/FatalFury makes sense since everyone's fucking starved for another CvS game.

That, plus Terry's been quite a whore lately. Smash Bros, Fighting EX Layer, Gal Fighters as a Rule 63, and now this.

Saudis don't like troons, but Salman had some journalist killed and he's also a weeb. Whenever he gets involved in anime, ANN loves to mention it any chance they get. Funny how they forgot to mention that the Biden Administration didn't want to risk their interests him. At least SNK won't water down the fanservice like Capcom did:

SNK lost its identity since it was bought by the Chinese before going to the Arabs. Every SamSho game after V Special doesn't feel like SamSho, especially the 2019 game. With all of the characters in the SF and even Final Fight World, Crapcom shouldn't resort to guest characters at all.

Don't know how many of you keep up with the drama; but months ago, some nasty girl accused semi-notable FGC member Shinblade (Who bitch this is?! guy) of sexual assault/rape. Sorry, her friend accused him and she carried the water, but like most accusers, she couldn't keep her story straight and there were a lot of holes, but Shinblade was already labeled dangerous, and you know what modern day organizations do about "dangerous" people (keep them around until outed). Shinblade stayed relatively quiet about matters, and released a statement today where he's lawyering up.

My Response

On December 31st 2023, Shadow20z made a decision to come to Twitter and post a statement along with a video saying that I sexually assaulted his best friend Angel20z at Combo Breaker 2023. I did not do what I’ve been accused of doing. Because they perpetuated and spread this lie, it incited others to “share” an “experience” with me of their own on Twitter. More lies.

I decided not to comment publicly beyond my initial statement about these allegations because I refused to argue on social media; especially about something as serious as sexual assault. I will not go back & forth about lies with people who don’t know me and who have made their minds up about me or with people who no longer hold value in my life and who clearly didn’t value me in theirs.

There were very few people who literally reached out to me and asked my side of things. I told them what happened and I’ve never changed my story of what happened that day. I was accused of changing my story and gaslighting but the accusers NEVER provided Twitter with what MY story was or provided the changes made to it. But changes were made to the story originally posted about me several times.

I am a Military Sergeant, I am a father and I have a life & career outside of the FGC. Because my life has been impacted by the malicious actions of others, I did what I said I was going to do and secured legal counsel. After more than 6 months of constant, unprovoked harassment (based purely on words from mouths), my attorney has been able to solidify a case of libel and begin the legal process as stated in the original cease & desists served at the beginning of the year against the people named and unnamed above to restore my innocence and reputation.

For the last 6 months as a result of this lie, I have had mobs formed against me, I've been talked about like I was charged, prosecuted and found guilty by a court of law, my relationship & significant other has been ridiculed, and I've been banned from a few tournaments.

I've accepted the decisions made and positions taken by people I've known for years over a lie that was told by a woman who could not accept rejection. Again, I did not do anything she alleged in her videos or statements.

To those of you who have taken the time to view this situation with logic and reasoning, who didn’t jump on the bandwagon off merely trigger words I applaud you and I thank you for your support. For everyone else, just because it’s on twitter doesn’t make it true.

I am learning discernment doesn’t equal distrust and there is a blessing in every lesson!
