I took a long hiatus from the FGC and started going back to locals a couple years ago and I only lasted a couple months. It was not what I remembered. Oddly enough, there was also a hyper skinny white tranny being led around on a leash by a 6'4 400lb (fat) black guy. They both wore covid masks in 2024.

I don't feel a damn thing for this dude. He didn't even try to fight it, didn't defend himself or contest the allegations (basically confirming them), then cried on social media for last minute sympathy and internet social credit. In all honesty, I hope the nigga does a flip. This is like the fourth weirdo sexpest that somehow infiltrated the Strive community, and their presence is what made me drop Guilty Gear all together as a series. These people need to either take that weird shit to the Smash community, or play Russian Roulette with an SMG.

Thanks for allowing these assholes into the FGC, Maximiliandood (Even though the FGC has always been a shady group full of slimy assholes like Justin Wong and Marn).

The default response is probably the Bridget retcon since a lot of these 20-30 year old men in dresses think of themselves as being cutesy and quirky instead of uncanny and repulsive. Guilty Gear has always been a little faggy though. Venom is my favorite character, but he's also a scorned homosexual. Maybe the accessibility of Strive just allowed people who would be wallflowers in other games to get a little more clout than they would've been able to get in Accent Core or Rev 2. Strive also came out in 2021 which probably had trannies at the height of their influence. So several factors combined I guess.

though your second point, I think the skill floor to be considered a high-level player has dropped tremendously within the last couple years because fighting games have been slowly losing their complexity or high-level execution skills.

I’ll probably one of a few people who will admit I’m terrible in street fighter four but I think it’s a fair combo system.

A good amount of them probably don't even have jobs and choose to get involved in the FGC hoping they become the next e-celebrity. And yeah player worship has always been retarded whether it's the FGC or Counter Strike or speedrunners. "Communities" like those attract the dregs of society because they think it's a ticket to easy money and fame and in the process they corrupt a hobby by becoming the loudest voices

What’s worse is that besides the typical predators. You also have female cosplayers that specifically go to events in the skimpiest cosplay known to man just so they can gain a following social media or their OF. An it’s such a low level cosplay that a Halloween spirit outfit has more effort in it. But no one cares to judge them because you know tits and ass are hanging out. I’m just surprised those slatterns haven’t drained the hell out of the FGC’s money.
