I play a female au ra and strangely no degenerates have bothered me in the year or so since I started this game. Doubly surprising because my server is Balmung-adjacent, I see a lot of them running around.

I wonder if it's because I maxed out the height slider. I don't think I've ever seen another female aura as anything other than minimum height.

From what I can see, most of the people who are like how the OP describes tend to be obsessed with minimum height regardless of what race they are. Going back to the previous convo, the game is infested with min height catgirls and Lalafell. It's probably a pedo thing.

If you really never wanna get bothered... do what I do, play a male elezen. I don't even get those annoying FC invite spams, no one wants us.
It's a peaceful life, as it should be.

Male anything tends to get bothered a lot less than female ones. Elezen doubly so.

Husband and I tried out FFXIV for the first time yesterday. His male Elezen got four different people harassing him in the first two hours. It was obnoxious and kind of spoiled the fun of the game for us, especially since we intentionally picked a less popular server in the hopes people would piss off so we could just enjoy the game.

That is strange, I've been trying the game and I am 20 Hours in and I have yet to get a whisper..from anyone about anything.

Bold of you to assume that people do the MSQ. Most "players" are still in Stormblood or Shadowbringers at the latest, and have barely any time to progress the game since their burnt out dopamine receptors seeing "Boosted EXP!" means they have to do all of their roulettes before doing anything new in the day, and they're complaining in VC together that The Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 1 isn't popping after 5 hours when it only took 1 for Shiva EX.

Yeah, we've been noticing that it isn't ideal. Which is a shame. We've been playing MMORPGs as a couples hobby since way back before we got married. I'd hoped FFXIV could be a new home for us to play in but it doesn't really seem like it so far. Maybe once we start doing dungeons.

I've been playing since 2.0 and my FElezen has gotten random tells maybe four or five times ever. I guess it helps to be on raid servers and never glamour like a whore. Heavy armor gang rise up.

I don’t receive that many tells as a FMiqo (there are so many FMiqo that it’s easier to pass unnoticed imo especially if you don’t dress like an attention whore), but whenever I hop to Aether, I will get the tells almost every time I’m in Gridania or Limsa, especially on faggot tranny Faerie. I never go to Crystal ‘cause why the fuck would you?

everyone told me this game has the nicest community ever but i never met more antisocial people in my life, for an mmo it felt very lonely and nobody seems to care that much about interacting and i thought these games were supposed to be more social, i would never pay 10 bucks per month for this though i think these people are crazy

i had some really horrible interactions and i got invited to a group chat made up of random people and they started arguing with each other not even 5 minutes in so i just left and i deleted everyone who added me and i changed servers at that point, you cant delete people in this game, they get removed from your friends list but you stay forever on theirs so people can pretty much stalk you at any time

the game is not that great but it was fun to wander around for a while but something about the people who play this is a bit off

i think half the playerbase might genuinely be insane
