Unfortunately, we've already got something similar to a Gambler in FFXIV: Astrologian. Makes it a bit unlikely that we're going to get a proper Gambler in the future, though it would be nice.

I think in FFXIV they are but not because people dislike DoTs. I think DoTs were causing a strain on bosses when they would get flooded with them, often hitting the actual debuff cap though mainly in alliance raids and hunts. The other issue is DoTs don't really work well with the engine nor the way bosses were designed. When bosses would jump or become invulnerable it felt bad that you wasted your damage. If you were summoner and a good portion of your damage was from DoTs you were kind of fucked. Same for if you didn't correctly apply your DoTs during raid buff windows. I think they prefer DoTs to be just another time you're meant to upkeep in your rotation. They're also not totally gone either since most jobs have a DoT.

Personally I love DoTs. The whole reason I loved monk was because they never had a burst phase, you were always doing maximum damage even if it didn't peak like other jobs. DoTs can be so much more interesting than set and forget. RIFT has a really great DoT class that punishes you for letting them fall off at all. You're meant to refresh them, they can proc to let you use other spells, you can even store all your DoTs from a target to reapply them, you can even spread them like how bane used to. Honestly I find it far more interesting than generic attack that does a number and other attack with a bigger number.

Oh yeah this dude is absolute ERP garbage unless this is somehow a legacy alt. No savage clears at all that I could find in his achievements, looks like he gave up during second coil and never tried again. Very few extreme clears, none of them on content, and just generally gray parsing anything even slightly challenging.

Faerie's already a high-pop congested server with limited/disabled character creation because there's already so many faggots inhabiting that server.

When every other server fills up, the people will have to pick the other servers. Especially when you have handfuls of other fags hopping ship to your lowpop DC and continually talking about how nice and quiet it is there.

Honestly i wouldnt be surprised if they their hrt hands on each server, but we dont see it. Then again we arent RP people or frequent limsa in such way to notice it.


I don't interact or follow the ff14 community in general, but how pozzed is the community?
