From what I know, Lyse did not get a great reception when Stormblood launched and the dev team adjusted things in post-Stormblood content, which is why she effectively fucks off from that point on.
Since Wuk Lamat is getting the same reception, I'd imagine the same thing is going to be happening, assuming that anecdote is true.

Considering the official FFXIV twitter account just put out this tweet today promoting Wuk it seems they are ignoring all criticism this time and will likely double down on her involvement in the story.

I'd chalk that up to shilling for more people to buy yawntrail, unfortunately you can't disassociate the expansion and Wuk Lamat since the entire thing is 60+ hours of you playing a shitty dating simulator with troonlion.
Wait for 7.1 and see, that's going to be real test for her getting shelved IMO.

What I find interesting is how the video has blown up in a mere 6 days, as of now having 17k views, 1.2k likes, and only 77 dislikes. The youtuber who made it only has 142 subs making it even more amazing. I'm shocked the GCBTW hasn't descended on this and mass dislike-bombed it yet (or maybe that's who those afformentioned 77 dislikes are). Or perhaps this is further indicative of just how much Wuk is truly hated.

Yeah most likely. That’s how they’re able to get all their budget for FFXVI, ff7 remake, and foreskin. No point in putting more money into a game that’s already a money printer.

Real key is if the JP side hates Woke Lamat as well. And so far, it's looking like they're giving her the good ole' JP silent treatment, because I seen fanart of almost every main character from Dawntrail except Troon Lamat. Even Jotaro Lizard apparently has his fans.

This is actually a hilarious thread. I wasn't expect the SEnix own official forum of all places, to be critical of Dawntrail.
Yoshi-P should be pissed the writing team dropped the ball so bad. It's the one selling point of XIV for many people. (Gameplay is very subjective, but I sincerely doubt anyone plays XIV just for the gameplay, unlike WoW, where I hear this sentiment expressed much more often). If the writing continues to devolve to a GW2 or later WoW slopfest I don't think there's anywhere to go but down at this point.

I hate Dawntrail.

FFXIV was never Shakespeare but it had one thing going for it all this time: it was Japanese, and therefore, I thought, immune to the woke mind virus. It was written by people who were themselves immersed in the fiction of the world, and lovingly translated with attention to not only the lore of the game but greater creative concepts that kept things feeling cohesive and believable even when they got strange.
Everyone is rightfully shitting on trooncat but trooncat isn’t what made me hate Dawntrail. What makes me hate it is what trooncat symbolizes. Woke Lament is practically the harbinger of the very doom that the Endsinger was trying to mercykill the universe to avoid. That doom is prioritizing virtue signaling above quality and shit writing from people who are incapable of thinking outside their echo chambers, a mindspace that is toxic to quality fiction from the onset.
The subtle poisoning has begun with things like seeing NPCs refer to characters they know as “they” instead of the very obvious “he” or “she” that is literally demonstrated by the model used for the character—the most recent example I can recall being the aether current quest in Pelupelu land with the mamool ja merc that is clearly male. Then there is using script voices that are completely indistinguishable, clumsily rehashing Koji’s choices of “ye olde” vocabulary without artistry or intelligence and in ways that blend everyone’s lines together, the picture of lazy imitation by less talented commie faggots who think they’re as good as or better than everyone who came before them. Retarded plot beats that are completely unacknowledged, unexplained, like they think you’re too stupid to notice if they don’t mention it. I used to respect how far out of its way this game went to explain little details. Not everything made sense, it never can in fiction, but the authors and translators used to understand the importance of the suspension of disbelief and the role that regularly addressing small doubts or questions plays in keeping it going, and making the player’s intelligence feel respected.
I know the playerbase is full of troons and fags superficially attracted to catgirls and cock mods but that is a nasty infection caused by the game existing in Current Year. They were players only so I could ignore them and enjoy a world that did not acknowledge them. I am actually devastated that the devs looked at this embarrassing scourge upon their work and thought “we need to give these fags the shit they’ve literally made up and raped our world building with” with things like multiple modern street glams and an entire endgame hub that caters directly to the nightclub niggers and basically writes them into the lore of the game. There are other troons in Solution 9, characters with model/voice acting mismatches on the same level as fucking Dragonflight. This shit is never a one off and unless SE does something immediately it will only get worse.

i finished MSQ during early access and just finished catching up on this thread. i cannot get out of my head how absolutely shit and jarring S9 is as well as Living Memory. i think if they had not shown off S9 during liveletters and in the trailer for dawntrail i would have just been absolutely in a state of shock. i think its... cool? but i don't like it and it is such an overplayed and tired trope/aesthetic i am just really sick of it. SUPAHCOOL NEON CITY is just such a nigger-genre at this point. the veneer of it is quite enchanting to look at and be like "wow, this is in xiv! thats crazy!" but then also, "wow, this is in xiv? that's crazy." i share much of the same sentiment as Herr Flick from several posts ago.
also something that really stuck out like a sore thumb to me is during the Rite of Succession, when we were learning about X'braal food customs. i was really thinking Koana would get paired with Bakool Ja Ja and Wuk Lamat with Zoraal Ja. or vice versa. you know, the interesting choice? i think it could have expanded wonderfully on their dynamics and given some good, proper growth to these characters. i was honestly gobsmacked they went with such a safe, boring route? they made such a stink about points of conflict with our friends in Dawntrail and there was just absolutely none of that. also, i have never liked the Scions and i am sick to death of them. i was so excited for this xpac to perhaps be an adventure with Erenville, Krile, and G'raha, but no i got slapped with trooncock and told to like it. i don't even care for G'raha that much but didn't we promise to take him on an adventure...? i actually felt sad for him. and i felt like it was actually just fucking rude of Alphinaud and Alisaie to shoehorn themselves in like that LMAO.
a shining point at least in all this muck and filth is how they're straying from orange puddles more and going back to physical tells on enemies. i love watching coombrain ERPers and general dogshit retards smack the pavement.
all and all i love Hades but why the fuck did he send us to cyberpunk troon island
