Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I don't think there's any grand postprocessing conspiracy here because this is exactly what you'd see from someone recording with a headset mic with high gain.
It's more that the entire cast has these same weird issues. I mean, maybe the whole cast was just using really shit microphones that didn't pick up on the upper-lower registers, and that'd be hilarious... but it's hard to believe that a professional VA studio signed to a multi-billion company's flagship product would try a stunt that brazen. Stranger things, I guess.

I've got plenty of footage from the game so I'll eventually pore over it to see if I'm right in guessing that whole areas have been squished to shit.
e: and actually trooncat seems to avoid fricatives which is what clips really bad when you do this.
holy shit that actually explains what the fuck that weird accent was

Sena Bryer makes their own avocado toast and therefore has become mildly superior to Taylor Lorenz.

If he can make avocado toast he could at least make up some screenshots of the death threats he's supposedly gotten.

Do these clowns know that people use they/them to refer to other people without even attempting to misgender a troon or talking about a troon at all?

Oh wait my bad, it's reddit so they're just looking for reasons to ban you and lord it above your head, that's the only way their mods can get a stiffie that doesn't involve children.

Im surprised it took them this long to oy vey shut it down after people were primarily clowning on and making fun of the shit voice acting, especially in direct comparison to the other dubs

Also it will never not be funny to me that these people put misgendering next to death/rape threats to themselves and family. True brainrot.
My favourite one is when you see a great big 80-page expose about a content creator being accused of sexual assault and the first fucking thing they mention is either that they said "nigger" 10 years ago or that they didn't use pronouns correctly, because that is absolutely the first thing you should put into a document trying to share information of a potential sexual deviant.
Dawntrail feels more like a game developed and released during peak Pandemic than Endwalker ever did somehow
Content-wise, debatable. That said, this raid tier does have one major issue: the HP is too low. The final boss was killed 40 seconds before enrage on day 1 by world-race groups using substandard gear and strats.

Speaking of content. CN fanfest gave a screenshot of the new Ultimate coming. This is probably the most information we've ever had about an encounter before release.

That new tell behind Fatebreaker looks like it might be used for something else. Right now, it just looks like it's going to be three dashes happening simultaneously, so you need to potentially create a safezone with lightnings and set up to knock back into it with fire?

Here's what I don't get with voice acting and direction and coping from people on behalf of Sena's dogshit performance. Let's take the "SPHEEENE" line for example. Wouldn't the script have that line elongated with an exclamation mark? Wouldn't someone reading that line interpret it as yelling or shouting? If all those elements are there, why is it the director's fault that Sena didn't emote at all aside from telling him that the line read sucked and to do it again? Don't get me wrong, the director is probably also dogshit. As for the others, from what I've gathered, Y'shtola's VA just had a baby so she recorded from home and Graha's had done something prior that fucked up his tongue or something. If I were the other scions' vas, seeing my amount of lines go from probably several pages to like, half of one, I probably wouldn't give a shit either.
I remember hearing that G'raha's VA's been going kind of big and popular lately, so schedule might have dictated only a small handful of takes.

His Japanese VA's been in a lot of anime for the past couple of seasons (off the top of my head Villainess Level 99) and his English VA has one of the lead roles in Bridgerton if I recall correctly, so they're both pretty busy at the moment. But I'm not sure if that would affect their number of lines, given how obsessed Hiroi (or whoever wrote this travesty) is with Ookla the Mok.
