Well, that's shit.
We don't have the ability to SE-sanctioned dress up as the Dawntrail NPCs in Sneaky Hollow.
(Note: I have been around since December 2022 so if you were able to transform into Endwalker NPCs in 2022 call me a retard newfag)
this outfit is going to be a goldmine of cringe and popcorn
there will be a veritable onslaught of "my OC is half voidsent" between the horns and wings of this outfit. hell hath no fury like an FFXIV RP'er scorned. "you copied my chara" is common, but funny drama.
the ffxiv RP community is one of the most unhinged out there.
i lurked them for a while, but i'm banned from the major ones because i got drunk and talked shit to a munchie regular who was whining for the nth time about how hard it is to be a fat adult NEET that lives with a dad that says "you should go to a doctor" and makes her do chores. but even the spillover communities have almost daily drama.
i lurked an ffxiv community for a while where the owner (mtf trans, 50+) had a very public meltdown over the fact that he gave $600 to fly his (18 year old, co-admin) discord kitten out to be present for his cock chop, and she just refunded the ticket and pocketed the money lol. cue 1000 page blogpost about how 'she' always knew 'she' was a woman, because she played with barbies as a kid or some shit, replete with a half dozen selfies of him in a ghillie suit hunting deer lol.
There is already an onslaught of "My OC is voidsent/half voidsent" and most of the community accomplishes it with the most overdone scale mods on female Au'Ra + copious amounts of black shit tattoos + eye and fang mods. This will simply be another drop in the bucket and gpose material for those retards to goon to.
Also I'm stealing this from @Hiphopopotamus to repost here because it's oddly relevant.
I must be masochistic or something because I'm actually having a decent amount of fun with PVP.
Hit PVP rank 23, series rank 15 over the past three or four days. Got some nifty achievements and some new armor that I think looks pretty cool. These aren't bad modes, just super grindy. Thankfully as an EVE Online refugee I have a high tolerance for long periods of tedious grinding interspaced with frequent loss.

Yeah, that's 100% fair criticism. My jobs play completely different in PVP and it was really disorienting at first. There's zero carryover as far as muscle memory is concerned; It took me a bit to get past that.
But now that I've got a better idea of how to work with the PVP skillset I'm actually having a good time. I wasn't expecting to get any enjoyment out of CC/Frontlines while grinding achievements so maybe my expectations were just low enough for me to be pleasantly surprised.
Eve is overhyped as shit. Only reason I stuck with it for so many years was the people I played with were fun to be in teamspeak with. The actual game is not that great and never was.

An IRL friend once got suckered into it years ago and half the time whenever I'd hang out with him, he'd have his cellphone on hand ready to respond to corporation fuckery at a moment's notice and sometimes had to cut social engagements shorts to log into EVE Online. Not to mention I saw his spreadsheets a few times.

This kind of thing was very common in nullsec alliances ten years ago, back when I first started playing. It's super unhealthy to play any game that tries to intrude into your actual real life for sure. Nowadays the game's become a lot more casual even among the bigger political entities but you'll still hear horror stories about people getting bitched at by corporation leadership over missing a CTA or weekly staff meeting because they were in the hospital or at an actual real life job instead.
Thankfully I avoided all of that by virtue of what activities my alliance partook in (lowsec piracy). I have zero interest in ever taking what should be a fun hobby and letting it dominate my existence.

Turns out there are more than 3 people farming an absurd number of irregular tomestones.
The people in here are doing it in parties with other dalamud addicts with their mains. This can only go well.

I have nothing against the Elpis crew, but "goofy tsundere" Emet-Selch just isn't the same character as "magnificent genocidal bastard" Emet Selch. Plus removing the mystery of the sundered world, making the ancients basically the same as ordinary humans personality-wise, retroactively hitting Emet with the amnesia stick to invalidate all his arguments, etc.
It's emblematic of Endwalker as a whole generally being more about sentiment and adventure than worldbuilding. I can recognize humanizing the Ancients probably was the right decision to bring everything full circle. If Heavensward and Shadowbringers are well-written fantasy novels then Endwalker is more like the great last season of a tv-show or an anime
one anime specifically, the second half of TTGL is basically Endwalker's first draft
To be fair the Emet we meet in Elpis is pre final days Emet before he becomes a genocidal maniac. It doesn't change his character around or retroactively undo his actions in ShB so I really have no problem with it.
Also I personally feel humanizing the ancients was the right choice. It's hard to really understand the ancient society and its people when they're all shadow figures that make weenwoon noises at you. Putting a human name and a face to them gives their plight more impact. Hythlodaeus in ShB was just a shade that exposition dumped and gave you the Azem crystal macguffin. I never actually thought much about him back then. Then we see the real guy in EW and he made much more of an impression on me. He really surprised me in EW and I didn't expect him to end up on my list of favorite XIV characters prior to Elpis.
Speaking of the Ancients I wonder if we're ever going to encounter the last set of Ascians that have yet to make an appearance. I wonder what happened to them now Zodiark is gone. There are four more left of the Convocation if I remember correctly.
