Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

EX3's biggest "pain in the ass" mechanic for me is Theological Fatalism. The one where there's five heads and you need to quickly figure out the safe zone based on the number of rings around each head can be really tricky to do on the fly. Thankfully I main healer so my easy-as-fuck rotationless buttons means I can usually focus a bit more on mechanics and give callouts to mates if needbe. Savage/Extreme really is the cure for healers being fucking easy to play since you get that extra complexity from dealing with mechanics and the retarded BLM who decided that they wanted to greed uptime and got hit by the seventh AOE this fight.

my group finally cleared p3s after months of prog. that entire fight sucked and i hated every moment.
p4s is going to be a nightmare

My group couldn't even clear P1S, not for lack of trying mind you but one fucking dancer just couldn't understand the Fire/Ice/Thunder stack mechanic.

I legit just found a PF group and did it in an hour.

Intemperance doesn't even seem like a difficult mechanic tbh. You assign positions, and you need to start and end on the same square, flipping elements only if necessary.

Arguably the only difficult part is the flex, but only if you're the MT/Flex DPS. And even then, you can just have the tank take a damage down and ignore that altogether.

for some reason my static and myself have the hardest time on super easy parts of the fight(s), but the hard mechs are easy?

we were able to clear p1s week one and had a bit of trouble with p2s but i worked on progging it alone once our raid time was done so i could work on my heal timing.

This person was legit retarded and there was no way anyone was going to kick them beacuse "They have autisim so that would be ableist" I ended up leaving and the whole thing fell apart pretty soon after due to a mixture of drama and the inablity to find another Off-tank.

Especially since Intemperance is an "E7S portals" level of solved mechanic if your clock spots are correct. Either the healers and tanks go south + DPS go mid or vice-versa and anyone in the party can call it for everybody else. How is this person able to do any content at all, even normal-mode stuff?

Tbh, P1S intemperance is baby's first savage mechanic. If you've not seen a savage before, it's a pretty good introduction to the co-ordination that is required later on by every member of the party, without throwing anything too hard.

It's harder than most MSQ content, but not all. Getting duty finder parties to deal with the Titania adds properly is way more difficult.

If saying "old MSQ is better than new 6.1 MSQ" is enough to set off the troons in the Novice Network... would have done it earlier. Even volunteered to shoot one of them in the head saying "I would rather shoot myself than go through old MSQ". Left before it gone absolute autist, plus remembered that Novice/Mentor Network's a mistake. Plus RIP Livia's Magitek Armor and the lulz it brought.

But if I have to grade the reworks, Ultima's probably the best of the 3 and Castrum's the worst. Livia, and the 3 mech bosses do have mechanics now but it's all unga booga "Baby's first advanced mechanics" that just drag on. Nero's kinda the same, but feels dull now he can't dish out knockbacks on his regular attacks. Gaius's alright, but doesn't really feel much different than Regula besides a couple of changes. Ultima actually feels like a final boss, but some parts tend to drag out. But with the Castrum and Prae reworks from what I've noticed is all the areas where most of the trolling/salt comes from, they've completely removed it. No elevators, no skip mechanics, nothing to break streamline from one mob to another to boss, not even the DICBAG survived. All no fun allowed with no longer to chill, and that was for me the fun part about MSQ was being the best excuse to watch a stream or Netflix in the background as well seeing the all kinds of stupid shit happening no matter if it's cringe or full out shit slinging that you can't help but laugh. Also seeing all the ways people can fuck even with the basic of details and mechanics, it was enough to make my day and laugh at retards.

A friend wanted me to join their FC so I left my old dead one. Their discord is full of retards self-diagnosing mental problems off webmd, self-important FC officers, and trannies.

It's been like this for every single big FC I've joined in the past few years.
So far I've gotten kinda lucky on my current FC, but it's been on-and-off dead for the most part. Has it's touch of spreg, but on a barely noticeable amount.

But at this point, might as well say "fuck FCs" at this point and just put in your info that you're not interested in joining in any FCs.

I personally found P4S to be easier and more fun than P3S so I wouldn't worry too much. Pinax is a bit of a pain sometimes and Akanthai Act 2 is confusing the first few times you see it (or was for me at least) but once you learn them they're pretty comfy to execute imo.

In defense of the reworked fights, remember that they are designed for sprouts who haven't even beaten ARR MSQ, not people who have finished endwalker and various extremes/savages/unreals/ultimates.
Before the reworks, all those fights were just a gang of 8 kicking a poor little garlet's shit in without mercy. I prefer the new versions where they actually fight back in a tangible manner. Yes it extends the duration, but they cut back on more than enough of the clutter to make up for it.

Agreed. From what I can tell these changes for ARR content were both for streamlining and also to get sprouts used to later game mechanics. It's like how the last boss in haukke manor now teaches you about looking away from enemies.

I never once touched the old MSQ roulette because Prae and Castrum were such stupid clusterfucks in the 8-man versions. The new variants are boring, sure, but they're not quite that same level of clusterfuck and so it's a roulette option I'll now actually take from time to time.

In addition to hopping back on to check out the new stuff, I'm replaying through the game on an alt on a different DC. Recalling all those fun, quaint little moments of bizarre storytelling and a ton of names being thrown at the player. It's more coherent than I remember it being, but more because I can actually attach concepts to names. Good lord did I forget how bad the voice acting on everyone but Bobobo Bo Bo-BoBo is. I'm also frankly sour about the warrior overpower change. It was the one braincell I had to use on that class, and it feels like it reached further than the circle AoE does, so now some of the pulls require me to float around for a little to make sure everything's been hit.

So I've just ran Castrum for tomes for a relic I'm working on atm and I've ran into this GNB (who's of course M!Viera troon), kinda shooting for a bit until I get to the bit about comedy and I've shot with "So you're one of those who thinks comedy is -insert here- types?" and followed it up with a Andrew Dice Clay joke, the "So I had my finger up this chick's ass OOH". That got him fuming and just rage bringing up windows while me and two BLMs were going at the boss.

Course I got rage booted, but still got my point on Castrum is and was a spreg far. Didn't get rid of all the DC cutscene skippers as intended though.

The reddit thread has some funny things in it.

For the first time in 14 years of raiding, I had problems with overstimulation on a few mechanics in P3S as an autistic person.
Without the mod that turns boss attacks purple and the one that simplifies the textures on the number orb mechanic at the start, the encounter is an unplayable accessibility nightmare for me that leads to physical unwellness.
"I need muh big tittay mod (and all the other stuff) because otherwise I become physically unwell."

I didn't realize they reworked not just the level 50 content, but a lot of the lowbie content that was complete fucking ass as well. And now that I've finished up the role quests, the little series that comes after them is dealing with some pretty major figures in the lore at long last, which was a pleasant surprise. it's bizarre how time has only made me dislike the EW main story's content and pacing more, but the side stuff has been pretty stellar
I need muh big tittay mod
the mod that makes warriors not have that stupid goku aura when there's rage in the tank is necessary, i am otherwise triggered by the stupid particle effect

Is it still worth getting into this game? I have an URGE to play an MMO again since WoW is dead, Everquest is way before my time and too old, and I did play FFXIV briefly two years ago...and liked it. Just not sure if I should get a subscription to it now or not.

The free trial is pretty good and lets you play through the entire base game and first expansion. If you like that, you'll probably enjoy the rest of the game.

Oh I already played it, I am willing to start again though. Just not sure if there are some troubling things on the horizon or not.
