Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I found hunt trains to be a pretty reliable way of getting some cash for little effort besides following the death ball and not dying. You get a nice amount of materia clusters which are always in demand, plus can buy more materia at the nut vendor for even more money.

I ... I didn't think about that. Oh well, we'll see.
It's really not that bad.
I was one of those people when I played WoW too. I'd have one of each class per faction bare minimum.
At first it irked me a little, but as I got used to it? I wholeheartedly prefer this method, no contest.

Yeah, to each their own. I might eventually change my ways too. For now, it's just something to do, while playing other games. Gives me a chance to relax from work and listen to a podcast.

Sure. I guess I'm just saying I'd give it a chance. I didn't think I'd enjoy it either. It almost felt restrictive at the time. But that feels so paradoxical in hindsight.
Idk. Either way, hope ya enjoy the game.

Still deriving some schadenfreude entertainment from the SEETHING Venat hatred among the community. They're still banging that "Glorious Amaurot could have been saved if that genocidal bitch had told them!" drum.

Fuck literary themes, I want my emo murderer husband back I  mean the Ancients deserved[ better *treatment* than the hoooooooorrible Endwalker story.

What an autistic fanbase, I swear. Writing their own fanfiction about how they'd avert tragedy instead of realizing that bad things happening to good people is THE POINT.

Sorry, I don't know about your potato jew trickery.
Never trust any (((lalafell))) lies. For all the shit the Harry Potter goblins get, I'm legitimately surprised no one's sperged out about the lalas.

A good map run can rake in the gil too. Between some chests with a really high payout and the loot you can get, it's really not hard to rake it in there. Didn't even get to the end of any of the dungeons when I did some maps with my FC over the weekend, but still got a bit over 500k after I sold the loot.

I've gotten to the point now where I have got the relic gear I wanted and finished all the stories, so I'm quickly running out of content to do unless I want to join some savage progression group, and I don't think I'll be doing that shit

It was mentioned earlier in the thread so I didn't bother bringing it up. But yeah, I run maps with 2 other people to maximise the cut when a good item drops (We FFA but evenly share gil earned from the 1mil + items).

All you need is 2 dps (highly preferable to run with at least one RDM/SMN for res) and a WAR and you're good to go.

Damn, legendary armor with a garter belt. Does the FF XIV endgame transition from fighting to a straight up hentai game? Can you grind epic legendary crotchless panties next?

You can glamour your gear to look any way you want as long as you've got the gear, basically. There's all kinds of stuff.

There certainly is a lot of players in FFXIV who think ERPing is the endgame.
I'm not personally there yet, but what's the point of having a female player character if you can't wear garters with your armor?

I am so incredibly happy I've just stopped engaging with this discussion regarding anything in this story on any sort of grand forum, because holy shit Emet simps are some absolutely insufferable people who can't fucking read. My favorite was when one guy explained how he refuses to ever interact with people because he's afraid they'll die, so Emet murdering millions to billions of people is fine because then immortality is a thing and Emet is literally truth incarnate and he can never ever be mistaken about anything. Like this man tried to explain that something some over the top as a good thing. Such as if you for example killed 90% of the Earth, and the other 10% live in Gay Amarout Utopia forever and we never get those 90% back, then that is a good trade because the 10% live happily and the 90% dead don't have to live to suffer anymore. Sheer absolute lunacy I swear.

I then pointed out how one of the most common things in FFXIV's story is people getting overwhelmed by their emotional trauma/prideful driven delusions to "fix things" that they end up fucking up almost immediately and it blows up in their face when we put their shit down, which is why the playing god shit in EW is considered a bad thing. See: Ilberd, Thordan, Emet, Yotsuyu, Gaius, or just about every major Garlean besides Zenos really, and Eldibius. Then went on some emo shit about how "Yeah humans ruin everything, you're right.".

Playing god is universally a bad thing in this story, because 99.9999999% of the time it sucks in real life too because humans are too retarded to play with such powers and Amarout might be well learned immortals but they are ultimately humans anyway. Which is why Lahabrea got yeeted by fucking HW pope, and Emet in EW chastises his own actions to ShB as a mistake and even a disrespect to the people that died to save the world. The whole fucking point is that no matter what type of good you think you can accomplish by forcefully changing the world because you believe you know best based on whatever personal problems you have with it, you are laying out so much collateral in your wake that your good intention endgoal stops mattering. You're not a hero or a god, you're a murderer. It isn't the freshest idea in the world, road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that, but it is a theme that people can learn something from if they could read.

Endwalker story was shit, period. I no longer care for the MSQ and skipped most of 6.1 because of the absolute fan service snoozefest that was 6.0. It's going to take a lot for me to be invested again like I was during 5.0. (Garlemald/Tertium being the exception for EW)

I really think delving deeper into the ancients was a mistake, I loved Amurot because of how little we knew and the implications made it interesting, but now we know too much and have seen that the ancients are just giraffe twinks with danger hair, it's hard to give a fuck.

It's the way they handled it, though I agree there's not really any need to go beyond Aumarot. It was phenomenal, and it's honestly tarnished for this game's writing.

It's in the wrong place for the story - and it doesn't introduce anything worthwhile. If Elpis was explored in ShB's postgame, it'd be fine. If you ripped out Labyrinthos and moon rabbits, you could place it after Zot and before Garlemald and the pacing wouldn't be too bad - the WoL returns from this quiet, easygoing section after resolving the postgame's dilemma (and finding a means for the grand company to do more in their stead) just in time to get in on the action. And then you keep rolling with that action - inoffensive.

But in addition to being tonally incorrect and placed in the worst place for the pacing, it's also completely fucking pointless. The entire reason we go there is a macguffin in Labyrinthos. The only thing we learn from there is DYNAMIS, which is its own macguffin, and that there's some new big bad that will get approximately 3 levels' worth of "development." Meteion is completely fucking pointless - every single element on nihilism and hopelessness she touches on could already be explored in Zenos, this guy you fucking brought back from the dead and focused on in the ShB postgame and who has a quality voice actor that knows to just ham it up. Instead, he kicks around some rocks pointlessly for 90% of the story and takes back-seat to a nobody that you're supposed to care about... despite the fact that the WoL suffers and sacrifices exactly nothing. It's all tripe.

If Elpis really needed to be in the story, why don't we explore what ascian Zenos was sharded from? We're a whole lot of Azim, after all, right? So why not trace Zenos back to someone whose utter nihilism and despair was the source of the creeping final days - oh wait! We had Fandanial for that, whoops! Might've been cool to explore what happens when two shards interact - but nevermind! And given that Elpis mostly builds on Fandanial's character, it means that the "big bad" gets one zone - ultima smegmos - to be characterized, and it's the one in which the entire party pratfalls and then gets up in the most contrived, idiotic, BORING fanservice imaginable. All of the themes the narrative hints at in Thavnair and Garlemald and Sharlayan are all utterly, irredeemably betrayed. It's a far worse narrative than Heavensward, made all the funnier because everytime "the sacrifices we made" is brought up in the dialogue, it's talking about characters who were killed off in Heavensward. Because that was the last time they had any fucking balls.

I ultimately rate EW about as bad as SB. It has higher peaks - Garlemald is better than anything in SB, but Ultima Smegmos is worse than a hundred hours of Lyse.
