Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Man, I really want to do savage/ultimate shit, including old content with minimum item level. Sadly my FC is currently dead and all I've been doing is leveling classes and PvP. You guys do anything along those lines?
I want to as well, unfortunately I am just straight up terrible at anything moderately difficult, and I know I should stay in my lane and not make 7 other people's lives miserable.

My FC just started prog on ultimate last night though, was fun listening to it. :)

Mostly I am focusing on crafting and making gil so I can still be useful.

Just recently finished Eureka and now finishing up Bozja. With those done I'll just have to grind out that edgy pvp armor.
I need it to make my adventurer plate even more edgy

Wew lad. Either way I got a chuckle from it. There can't be a fetish for pool noodles right?

It's not the shades I'm disappointed by, catnigger. I still appreciate your autism though.
At least I'm a cool catnigger, I use war paint (its a little hard to see without getting close to my face) and I purposefully never dress in slut glam so I never look like some cutesy fag cat. I'm in big armored coats for life on every tank I play, was a proud wearer of my Alexander coat I got back in my a12s coat before Stormblood until I got the Bozja set.

In the end, my shades and war paint transcend me above the average slut cat and I play better then all of them combined. I am an elite catnigger, so you better check yourself and recognize.

Thanks babe, your autism is also good.

I am thoroughly disappointed by most of you and your in-game avatars.
You better take that back. My Elezen is the best Elezen.

But seriously, alot of player Elezen are fucking ugly. A friend of mine told me that many trannies play as them. After I looked into it, he was right.

Okay, in your case specifically, I will rescind my disappointment because that is a far more flattering visual example of your in-game character.

Still docking arbitrary, absolutely meaningless points for the possible "dude playing a girl in an MMO" stereotype though.

I know this is another GCBTW kvetch post but I’ve been, to power level a little bit, playing a game called VRchat and both communities seem to have relatively the same kind of people who play it; weeaboos who love cat girls and catboys and animu shit. There are some people like furries and meme avatars but majority is anime stuff.

The difference between these communities is that VRchat has no moderation at all and FFxiv is aggressively moderated. As a result people in VRchat are range from aggressive trolls to people who are just chatting. The surprising part, and maybe this is because of how long I’ve spent in ffxiv absorbed in its community, is how thick skinned people are in this game. You can say the word retard and no one will bat an eye. You can say nigger and no one will bat an eye. I’ve been called spic in game jokingly and i didn’t bat an eye at all and in fact I almost felt refreshed.

VRchat also has trannies in the game too, but they are also not as bad as ffxiv. But I haven’t met a lot of them so idk if other people had bad experiences but they seem chill from what I can tell. Some didn’t even get offended by the word tranny and almost internalized the word like how blacks use “nigga”.

RPers are prevalent on my home server on ffxiv and I thought maybe that was the problem and why ffxiv’s community was the way it was, but from videos I’ve seen of VRchat rpers, all of them, if there’s a joke avatar in the server, will play along and laugh along with it. Meanwhile in ffxiv if you play as a moogle clad roegadyn and try that shit in an RP venue you’ll either be ejected or worse case scenario reported.

I play ffxiv and I play with its community and it feels like I’m surrounded by sociopaths, turbo-neet communists, and BPD stricken women. Why am I saying all this? Because at one point I said the community was unironically going to be the downfall of ffxiv and someone disputed saying that people would remain loyal no matter what. I didn’t respond because I didn’t really know how to counter it. I think i might now, there’s a point where you get exhausted having to kowtow to people who just want to control you and take advantage of you and I finally found out that was the reason why I hated playing ffxiv. It wasn’t solely because of the game itself, but because of the community and moderation.

I have a feeling in two years time, GCBTW’s image of being a welcoming and diverse community is going to eventually decay and people will get utterly fucking tired of putting up with mentally ill trannies and tranny moderators breathing down their necks if they happen to call them retarded for not playing their job right. People are going to be exhausted by leftist anarcho-commie acab kvetching in shout chat while anyone speaking out is shouted down or reported for harassment. People are going to get exhausted having to deal with discord suicide posts and crying about transphobia or being told transitioning children is okay and if anyone disagrees they’re made pariahs to ffxiv’s community.

I’m calling it now and I’m placing my bet that ffxiv’s community will be what kills the game. I’m going to bet something big is going to happen within ffxiv’s community where someone who has influence will be banned for a frivolous reason or a giant fc has a grooming scandal that leads to several people getting banned for speaking out. FFXIV’s death will probably be a slow burn, but it will die. People are eventually not going to want to deal with the community and move on.

I wonder if JP servers are as bad, because that would be a really good motivation to learn the language.
To get away from all these fucking trannies ruining the game,

They are not, played on Tonberry for 3 years.

It's very quiet there. I don't speak JP but there is generally no mess and clutter in the area chats. If things get too loud sometimes you will get someone say "annoying english".

Fairly certain I'm the one who told you that and that's a stance I continue to maintain because XIV has been in this sort of social state since even the earliest days of ARR. The stranglehold the community has on its public image has never once let up in all that time, because the people who are most social in this game are the mentally deranged sort of people you're complaining about, and the people who are interested in breaking into the social hemisphere of the game are generally just as mentally deranged themselves.

It's all one giant hugbox/echo chamber, and going just the slightest bit against the grain gets you shouted out or otherwise disregarded with immediacy.

I would argue that was then when ARR onward to about 4.0 Stormblood was when ffxiv was a niche mmo that wasn’t breaking new ground and wasn’t a commercial smash hit like it became during mid shadowbringers. Now that veterans of other mmos are starting to jump on the next big game, will they eventually go away because of post-abuse clarity for a lack of better terms? Would people eventually become tired of the sterile community it makes itself out to be constantly? I feel like newcomers who arrived now, in a couple months maybe a year and a half’s time will eventually jump ship once they realize how depressing toxic positivity actually is.

Like I said, a lot of people who come into XIV tend to be either easily mislead or just as mentally deranged as the people who run the social hemisphere. There will always be significantly less people who are put off from the game than the people who continue latching onto it and its community, and among those who are run off, I've personally found that hardly any of them have the awareness to realize they were dealing with a toxic social atmosphere to begin with. Most people I've talked to honestly think they were dealing with an isolated case, even when they see the rest of the playerbase acting much the same way.

Your biggest potential social problem unless you can truly pretend to be a native is dealing with hardcore Japanese nationalists who will try to fuck with you through 2ch autism or some shit like that. Their are some insano "JAPAN NUMBA 1" types in JP communities who basically treat gaijin like the plague and needed to be reminded of how their Samurai Nippon blood gifted gamer skills are number 1. Some will stalk you, find passive aggressive ways to fuck with you, or just ditch you if they see a gaijin name in an instance or just think you're a foreigner for any reason. I know in early ARR-HW era I recall stories of the latter happening fairly often to people with EN names in JP servers, I assume they stopped due to Tonberry players being too relevant for a long time so it became too self harming to ditch gaijin.

JP has some really diehard fringe nationalists types in all age groups and communities, and they treat invaders as scum. At best they'll act with an air of superiority like "Ah yes, you gaijin like JP server? Very good, it I'm sure much better then your stupid American server." As I've heard this type of assumption and sentiment that "Westerners must really want to honor and respect superior nippon culture, and we graciously allow this." in various topics for awhile. These types hated Tonberry being the AU server and likely drank themselves sick with rice wine once the gaijin aussies were shipped away back to kangaroo country where their filth cannot defile pure nippon digital grounds.

On the plus side PF is way better for obvious reasons, so little give or take. Also random DF queues for EX+ content is used for clearing hard content, not practice, which is another unusual JP cultural difference.

Question: what do you guys think of purchasing level skips? I ask, because I was seriously considering picking one up for a Black Mage; while the game is certainly fun, I just don't have all that much time to be able to play these days due to a variety of factors, including school and work. Additionally, while the early levels look somewhat promising, DPS classes in general have both poor que times and can be hit-or-miss on the entertainment value; for instance, I picked up Samurai a while back, got it to 60, then dropped it - plenty of people have been telling me that it gets more fun when you get to the really high levels, but the level 60 gameplay for sammy just bored me into leaving. I keep getting told I should pick it back up, but...

Anyway; what do you guys think about picking up a level skip for Black Mage?
Don't know for any other classes, but Samurai is absolutely a fun class.

At first it kinda looks complex but then you see the the way the combo splits and gives you different buffs, but you cycle through them all anyways for its biggest moves.

Later it gets a ton of OGC's which is where it gets way too fun. You use your main combos to build up a bar to 100 and then go wild with your OGC's.

And later still you get skills which go ontop of your original big damage skill.

It's actually got so many skills and stuff it's hard to stuff all your skills and job traits onto your hotbars.

Super crazy fun class when you get to pop off.
