Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I just had a revelation that for some reason a lot of africans play in my datacenter. If you think the casual xiv gamer is bad. You haven't seen the african super tank who doesn't understand anything. Did sunken temple of qarn with one of these superstars last night. In the rock head "puzzle" the guy just refused to bring the rock to glowing spot to open the door. Had to wait like five minutes for him being bored and going to explore alone.

I don't know who this guy is myself but apparently there's some streamer who crossed over from Lost ark and started ARR recently and he managed to fumble his way through praetorium without getting his job stone and I can't tell if that means the game is retard proof for being able to do that or not retard proof cause it doesn't force you to get a job stone.
He's actually button mashing. :story: What a lad.

To hopefully distract some people from general online degeneracy:

You guys got houses? I am currently sharing a medium plot with a good friend of mine and we are having a blast, just slowly building up a respectably looking house! The house itself is gonna be a sort of relaxing and small club house (I guess that's the right word). After learning the hard way how ridiculously restrictive glitchless decorating can be, we eperimented with some simple glitching to create a sorta open-air bath on the top floor.

Next, we wanted to create a party cellar. I wanted it to look a bit shabby/seedy with more of a standard fantasy vibe, but my friend wanted it to look modern, so we came to agreement to just mix elements of both together. I think it came out nicely.

The middle floor is still being worked on, but it's not gonna be too fancy, since we only have 50 items remaining until we reached the furniture limit.

I never imagined it could be so relaxing to just casually craft or buy some furniture and try and make something halfway unique and decent looking. Forgive my autistic need to share this kinda stuff with you guys, but maybe you find it a bit interesting, idk. I'm also interested in getting some inspiration from your houses, if you are willing to share.
I share a small plot with a friend. The friend designed pretty much the entirety of the bottom floor, turning it into a fairly cozy home space, I handled the predominant majority of the first floor, which serves as a sort of waiting room, and we kinda half-and-halfed the exterior design.

I recently did some redecorating on the second floor, though. My friend really loves Christmas, and I surprised them by going out of my way to add a bunch of Starlight decorations, from foodstuffs, to a couple mobiles, to a tree, presents, a wreath, that one wall-mounted light banner, and the Starlight wallpaper – along with that snow patch, a snowman, and that yellow star Starlight tree outside. I half expected them to yell at me when they saw it, but they, instead, spun their camera so fast to figure out what had changed in their surprised enthusiasm that they triggered their own motion sickness and made themselves nauseous.

I still consider it a win.
Alright, guess I'll PL a bit further about the interior design of my shared house. Please excuse the fact that I run completely vanilla with no mods or shaders.

Here's the first floor layout, with multiple angles. This is the one I did the bulk of the work on.

And here we have the stairwell, from top to bottom respectively (you can start to see where I made some seasonal, decorative changes).

And now we have the basement, which is what my friend mostly worked on, with some very small tweaks by me. (Yes, they really enjoy that one wall-mounted light, which is why they used it just about everywhere they could.)

It could still use a bit more work on the first floor, and I have my eye on acquiring a Queen's Rest to put either on top of the weapons display or the counter, but this is probably one of the comfiest pieces of housing I've ever collaborated on thus far in my time playing the game.

Looking pretty cozy! You got the light turned all the way to 0 or 1?
Cause to let the illusion work on my top floor, the light needs to be off so I need to place a fuckton of light sources on the remaining floors. But it works very well with your house, it looks like you are already waiting for Santa!

I do believe it's set to 1. Friend happens to be the mod user between the two of us and uses all the fancy shaders and such, and I know they specifically arranged the lighting around the second floor using light level 0 as this apparently gives the most accurate representation of how light would be cast around the room from light sources.

I have a small house in Goblet as well, I want to move up but i'm broke as hell and need to decide where I even want to move to, what are some of your guys' favorite living spaces?
I kind of like Mists and Shirogane because they're by the beach. The latter even has a hot spring cavern if you're live near a corner. Lavender Beds is nice too if you like the woods aesthetic.

I almost cannot bother spending a huge amount of time in housing. I already don't like spending gil, but having to maintain payment sucks and forces me to pay a subscription just to keep a house up. I get why they do it that way. If I went all out on it, I'd waste many hours just decorating. Guess I could screenshot it all but eh, I'd be upset spending all that gil and time just to lose it because I didn't feel like watching players ERP at the New Gridania aetheryte.

Heavily consider finding a new FC. Mine has been dead, but I am not sure if I want to deal with strangers in this game. But damn I want to raid, just paying to level my classes at this point once or twice a week.

Mists aren't really for me personally but I can see the appeal to others. Shirogane is beautiful though, my old FC house used to be there til they moved to Goblet for a larger place- I have considered Lavender Beds though because I think it's gorgeous, very cozy feeling.

I have a cozy cottage in Lavender Beds.
I think a few of you guys have seen it already.
Dynamis, Maduin server. Plot 47, 19th ward. I'll screenshot dump soon for those of you who haven't or can't be assed to log in to see. I also have an apartment in the same ward.

Okay here's screenshot dump. I also don't use graphical mods. Also can't be assed to change the name of 20 screenshots. Don't care if people know what my ign is.

Finally done with grinding this mount.

I've been doing S rank and A rank hunt farming for some time, but me wanting to get this Garlean pug dog mount was something I really wanted as it looked wicked, but dedicating yourself to doing 2000 A ranks and 1000 S ranks to specific area's only (in this case, the Endwalker expansion area's) requires you to practically hardly play the actual game at all and be on standby for these hunts, especially with these S ranks as once you get a notification from dedicated hunt communities, you have to warp to different worlds or data centers ASAP lest you risk being stuck in a 50+ que line and most people only wait around 3 to 4 minutes after announcement at best before pulling and burning it down, and that's not even accounting for potential early pullers. You can't do most instanced content either since that lasts about 10 to 15 minutes in most cases.

It is in my eyes one of the easily most monotonous grinding experiences where you have to alt-tab or do content where you can easily warp back to one of the 3 main city aetherites ASAP. But I'm so glad this is finally done so I can enjoy riding this beauty.

WoW really is the twitch gold rush right now, ain't it? I'm wondering if FFXIV content creators will start jumping ship because FFXIV isn't profitable at all to stream right now.

It's quite expected, to be honest. There's just nothing to really entertain a streaming audience with right now in XIV while WoW did get new content. Normal players I know from my friend circles and my FC have been taking a break cause there's nothing to do right now and it's the same for me too. At some point there's inevitably going to be a content drought in WoW and streamers will come back to XIV for the new raid tier or whenever the new ultimate drops.

Holy fuck, that reply was back in August.

Were you in a coma or something?
Might as well have been. Was just away from the site for a while.

FFXIV isn't profitable at all to stream right now.
I fucking hope this is the reason. If we can get back to pre-ShB player numbers it inherently means less annoying faggots playing, so that's a net positive.

Housing needs a whole rework. They keep adding more wards and it's like putting a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound.

Moogle trove is coming next week, some fishguy necklace, sheep mount, and paladin barding are the hot items.
