It's so satisfying to see Kate and Sena's antics blow up so spectacularly. I'd like to give a shout out to the (now banned) official forum posters who tried warning people that Kate was an unhinged nutcase back in Shadowbringers.

I don't think anything will happen since Kate probably has major dirt on Koji/Soken/Yoshi. So we'll see more flailing and attempts to frame any criticism of Sena and Kate as 'bigotry' and 'haters'. All whilst cowardly ideologues rush to shut down and ban any and all discussion of what is clearly a dire problem for the game.

Well speaking of the troon, SAG-AFTRA (the VA strike against AI that Sena quit any and all voice acting gigs to join recently) just backstabbed all of them today by promoting "ethical AI" (literally going against the entire point of the strike hilariously):

So this could either mean the strike is over and Sena resumes his role as Wuk, or it has no impact on the strike at all and this just provokes Sena into going on another twitter tirade and he somehow finds a way to drags FFXIV's name further down into the mud while doing so.

I know Garrett, played with the guy and we've talked a good bit. He's not a super bad guy. While this take is a hard L, he has barely gone through even a fraction of the MSQ so his opinion on Wuk is irrelevant at this time as he hasn't had enough time with her.
I'm hoping (foolishly), that once he finishes the MSQ, he'll be able to better understand why people don't like Wuk and that unsurprisingly, Sena being a troon isn't the main reason.

Although dismissing people who are expressly clarifying that they are criticizing Sena's performance based on other factors rather than whether or not he's a troon is probably one of the worst retarded things he could have said. You're flat out disrespecting the part of your fanbase who legitimately does not care about gender bullshit and are honestly just giving their opinion of a character and or a performance that they found lacking. I did think of your post when I moved over, ngl. I made the mistake of giving it one more go on Crystal first and dipped after YET ANOTHER 'enrage' group failed before mouser1 twice in a row. It's truly dire. I get that there's 4 different ways to solve the first mech, but it's really not that hard to adjust from dps first to support first. Dipped to Aether, got the clear within 20 minutes. If I didn't have my FC on Crystal I'd straight up consider a transfer.

Saw this on the official forums. So you know that solo duty in Solution 9? Apparently you can just afk the entire thing, and Wuk Lamat, Alisae, and Krile will solo it. Even if Alisae and Krile die, Wuk (apparently being unkillable) will still manage to solo the the rest of the duty, even though she'll stand in mechanics. This is all on normal difficulty btw.

One of the most basic rules of the internet is to not feed the trolls. People don’t care how much you whine and seethe about cyberbullying, they’ll just find it funny and mess with you more. Sena dug himself into this hole, and I don’t feel bad for him in the slightest. The piece of shit deserves what he gets.

They're definitely tied together because Sena being a troon means he can't access a full vocal range because anything other than his squeaking will just sound like a man. Playing on French, German, or Japanese makes the experience tolerable because you don't get the faux spic accent and the character actually emotes. I think the JP voice actress for Wuk Lamat did a phenomenal job given what she had to work with.
It's not going to fix the writing aspect, but it's criminal how much having a troon voice actor fucked up the character.
It's not going to be allowed to discuss on reddit, but hiring a troon is exactly why the performance sounds so shit.+

If Wuk was more understandably naive or it was clearly done out of shock i dont think the scene would've been bad, plus, fantasy bullshit medicine can work for horrible wounds depending on the plot needs

Smile was an absolutely horrible song coming from Soken. The contrast between the dungeon music and the other music in this expansion is jarring. How do you go from songs like Dragonsong and Who Brings Shadow to… whatever the fuck this is supposed to be.

Honestly, it feels as if all the veterans were phoning it in for DT. Not to PL too much but I've been following Yoshitaka Amano for close to his entire career and this is the first time I've seen art from him that looks as if he was all out of fucks to give. The DT collectors box is outright hideous.

I think you can chalk that up to the average amerimutt's understanding of what English from the isles sounds like, they hear NORF FC and think "how quaint and refined".

Amerimutts don't quite understand that the "posh Bri'ish" accent is itself artificial (hence "Received Pronunciation"/"BBC Accent") and that actors and communicators have to be trained to speak it since it was designed for clear communication in broadcasting. It doesn't annoy me too much when it's some random "I just love British accents!" but dangerhairs under the delusion of being "world citizens" who don't even know that much are a very special kind of retarded.

I saw that on Xitter and I have to admit to laughing, mainly because the scene itself was an awkward wasted opportunity. G'raha could have recounted (or at least started setting up an off-camera retelling) of how he met the WoL. He'd still get to embarrass himself, Krile would have almost fallen out of her chair laughing her ass off, it would have given a nice jumping off point to showcase/explore G'raha and Krile's relationship, Wookie might actually learn something for once about the hero she's LARPing being "like family" with, and the writers could have scored some easy nostalgia points. Instead, Hiroi goes for a forced cheap gag because I don't think he understands the chraracters any more than meme animators do.
