Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

You people really need to train yourselves into the mindset of "everyone in dungeons is actually an AI controlled NPC", it'll do wonders for your player experience.

Even the developers seem to agree which is why they slowly implemented duty support. Savage? Ultimates? sorry what are those, must be some WoW shit.

go play in eureka/bozja
It's not the SAME.

This AI's busted because it gets vocal about how shit it is and if I dare say anything against it, I get reported.

This is a glitch, just turn the dungeon off and on (leave and requeue)

The Warrior of Light™ is supposed to lead the way.

Wait what? This game actually has a limit on the number of duties you can do in a period of time??
Yes, 100.
ONLY dungeons count towards this number (It's perfectly fine to do over five hundred guildhests or a thousand runs of Deltascape V3.0), but if you reach it, you're unable to do ANY content that uses the Duty Finder Queue interface. This includes other Dungeons, as well as Trials, Raids, Alliance Raids, Savage Raids, Ultimate Raids...
And then there's things that still use the interface like the Leap of Faith and Air Force One GATEs, Triple Triad Open Tournaments, Eureka, Bozja, and The Diadem, Variant and Criterion Dungeons, Deep Dungeons, Ocean Fishing, Chocobo Racing, and Doman Mahjong.
You're still able to do things in the overworld and world transfer if you're in this state, and you're actually able to go into Map Dungeons.
I'm not sure if you can do quest battles and i don't want to answer that question.

It's almost impossible to reach this limit under normal circumstances. Often you'll only see it if you're intentionally speedrunning that number (The Vault Gil Farming w/ Blue Mage), accidentally speedrunning that number (Spamming Aurum Vale for Zodiac Light), or doing things you shouldn't be (Oldschool Gil Farming in The Wanderer's Palace).
Pretty sure I'm the first person to reach it from Prae and nothing but Prae.

Random plot takes:
-I actually liked Hermes and feel he us a bit over hated by the community. I liked seeing how Fandaniel came to be and I did feel bad for the guy at times. That said the people who uwufy him and claim he did nothing wrong while vilifying Emet and Hythlo for opposing him are nuts. Speaking of I remember a Hermes apologist calling Hythlodaeus cruel and manipulative compared to him and I was genuinely confused.
-Zodiark was a band aid solution and the sacrifices were unsustainable. Venat’s plan was the lesser of the two evils. It‘s really funny discovering how most of the Venat haters are Emet simps who give him a free pass for all his atrocious acts while vilifying Venat.
-I don’t get why people got such a bug up their ass over a single cutscene over Graha eating a burger and how it supposedly ruined his character. It was literally a single scene yet people act like he is cramming burgers down his throat throughout the entire msq.
-The power of friendship ending in base EW was fine. No worse than the ending of ARR where the Scions and the alliance leaders use the power of friendship to shoot lasers of themselves at Lahabrea before he retreats. EW’s ending felt more like a call back to everyone praying for Louisoix to summon the Twelve in 1.0, in fact the prayer animations the Scions use in the 1.0 cutscene even match the ones they use during the Endsinger boss fight Just with some characters replaced. It‘s basically the plot of the entire ARR-EW arc going full circle. The saga started with us praying to Louisoix to save the day and then ends with everyone praying to us to save the day.
-I don’t see anything wrong with EW’s plot being about the fate of the cosmos as it‘s the finale of a ten year long arc. It makes sense to me to have a big send off for it. It’s probably why they also blew all their loads on the Ancients and Ascian stories in EW because it‘s basically the end of their major role in the entire msq.

I mean this solely in the interest of discussion and of no personal attack to you or your opinions.

I won't church this one up: Hermes is a massive faggot and I could never find anything likable about him. Instead of trusting in the people at his side and communicating his misgivings to the few people that would have been willing to hear him out (something which sounds naively idealistic on its face, but considering how much these values get preached all throughout XIV up to this point and do almost practically end up being a "cure-all" narrative solution, we at least know it's a viable practice in terms of narrative resolution), he instead continues mistrusting others and, in his misguided grief over "muh concepts", decides to commit to the very same thing he accuses the other researches of, but on a long-term, universe-threatening scale. Man basically elected himself the judge, jury, and executioner over the entire universe because he couldn't pull his head out of his ass. And whatever more redeeming qualities he may have had were stripped from him over time and through countless reincarnations. Whereas the other Ascians cling to some misguided notion of potentially restoring things to the way they used to be, Fandaniel's faggot ass continues to go full extreme nihilism and mentally degenerates to the point where he just wants everything to die. It's no longer about life proving itself worthy to exist – nope, it's all gotta go all because one idiot is suffering from the consequences of his own actions.

It's almost surprising the rest of the Ascians continued suffering him to keep existing unchecked, since you have to figure his motivations would have surely ended up becoming blisteringly transparent sooner or later.

Yeah there are a lot of fucked up aspects with him. I definitely should have made my post more clear on that part. There are times where you can see where he is coming from but he completely destroys any good will by burning bridges with everyone and fucking every thing up on a cosmic level. It‘s why the Hermes apologists who complain about how the other Ancients supposedly view the creatures of Elpis as disposable while being ok with him doing what he did baffle me. That said I did get amusement out of how unhinged and batshit insane Fandaniel was. I just found it interesting seeing how much someone can self destruct like that in real time.

I enjoyed Fandaniel well enough. Not my favorite villain but his batshit raving lunatic vibe had some good moments.

I'd argue most mechanics we have today have been built off of older mechanics.

Ah nah, for sure, my issue is with the inconsistency with which they're applied, and the wide range of punishment for failure. And I especially hate bosses that source like 3-4 PITA mechanics from the gallery of bosses and put them all together in some shitty amalgam that makes me actually have to think in a roulette. Dead Ends is one of the biggest offenders of this. I understand it's a 'final' dungeon and they wanted to make it 'hard', but it's just not fun to play. Like a fairly close comparison is Mt. Gulg. It's got big pulls with heavy hitters, similarly mechanic heavy bosses, but doesn't really go for the throat if 1-2 players don't know wtf is going on. I like that dungeon. It's fun. Dead Ends can eat shit. I got it in roulettes yesterday and wiped 8 times because 2/4 members were new. It's like that one ARR trial with Nabriales. An absolute shitshow if no one knows what's going on.

That said, I don't think the healer jobs are boring because I play with randoms all the time. I'm used to using my entire kit to carry braindead retards, dpsing for them, and in some situations also tanking for them. It makes the game more interesting.
Yeah, I like healing. I just don't like remembering which dungeons I actually have to heal in lol.

i mean look at old videos of people doing normal content, they were absolute dogshit

Edit: OK I'M SORRY IS THAT SOMEONE FROM BACK WHEN FREECURE WAS ACTUALLY RELEVANT LETTING THE PROC FALL OFF

Spoilers for the end, the POV DRK (Who doesn't know what Mitigation is) dies because people DPSed too hard and made the boss transition into phase 3 while people where in a vent, and that snowballs into everryone dying because the healers are dogshit
Song's an absolute banger, but that shitshow was comedy gold. Felt bad for that other DRK though, they tried to carry these healers

yeah the non-POV DRK is probably the only competent person in that video (the NIN too i guess)
POV DRK: Doesn't use Dark Mind, doesn't use Shadow Wall, doesn't use Shadowskin or Convalesence, has MACROED COMBOS, and spends far too long doing literally nothing while "soaking damage"... unmitigated
White Mage: Cure 1. I don't care if it was "good" back then, no it fucking wasn't and it especially isn't if you're using it on players who are at full health.
Scholar: Do they even case Adlo once?
Black Mages: *drops enochian*
Summoner: Doesn't use Resurrection

this would be hilarious to me just like the "watch pajeets get run over by trains" thread if it wasn't for the fact that as a former mentor i've had to deal with people even worse than that

Shit, I've never needed the mentor crown to run into exactly this kind of stupidity on a frequent and recurring basis, and I've qualified for mentor for the last two expacs now.

Probably a DC thing, plus since I usually run duties with friends i'm less likely to end up in Dipshit 3-stacks and have ended up in approximately 1 duty where a couple were flirting with each other

Because of the fact that my friends don't often play, I've usually had to solo queue most everything, so I've ran into plenty of stupidity on a constant basis over the years and Dawntrail seems to have the greatest retards per capita I've seen on average since ARR and Heavensward.
