I'm basically chasing this phantom of the fun I used to have playing this game.

There's tons of people dropping out because the content has been not that grand, the expansion wasn't much of a hit, and its the holidays on top of it. Not the first time its happened by a long shot but damn if it doesn't suck.

I mean, the reality is that FCs aren't really the basic social unit anymore so much as discords are. People are socializing primarily in those. I really don't think there's a plausible way to roll conveniently into one in-game that isn't infested with dregs and dead-ends, really.

It remains the case that making a throwaway Discord account to set up a Kiwi server is laughably easy, and even for those who don't want to expose their main accounts one could just as easily create alts to fuck around with. The use would less be to have a big register of character names, and more just to have a place to organize with people for this-or-that. Out-of-game-ing the potential for No-No Words and avoiding the Obvious Target that is an FC would make it harder for an INFILTRATOR!!!! to somehow get everyone shellacked, not that I think this is anything but wild imagination. It also simplifies the fact that people are on different DCs and can easily hop between them, but aren't really any-eager to forcibly congregate anywhere.

You really just run into the issue of people here naturally being antisocial and oftentimes being irrationally paranoid. Which fully explains why the idea never goes anywhere and why people trawl through the heaps of normies and whatever fucking weirdos actually go to nightclub-erp shit in desperate search of internet strangers to socialize with. The hedgehog's dilemma.

I'm assuming WGA hasn't DC travelled yet (Quote is 6 weeks ago), so this is Aether (The Raiding DC) vs Crystal

I did a little jumping after getting some replies and have been <<TRAVELER>> Status on primal for a good bit.
I tried Dynamis as well, Crystal and Dynamis seems to be about the same amount of PF groups +RP/ERP in crystal PF
Did my first unreal running Jade Stoah and The Zoraal Ja EX.
Not what im used to but wanting to have fun.

I tried to select Aether but that option was grayed out and did not let me even DC travel much less DC transfer which is what I preferrably wanted to do.

I'm not sure why most people seem to want that as their first time run of Coil.

I don't either, but I also don't understand why people want to run literally anything synced in this game if they don't have to.

If I had to guess, it's because of these factors.

• First expansion means more people do it before fucking off to an actually good MMO
• "lol let's see the jank"
• "Let's do it as the developers intended!" (I don't think that having to use a Healer LB3 and killing half the party by abusing server ticks was ever intended, though this is about A3S)
• Self-fulfilling prophecy of seeing it and wanting to keep the cycle going
• The story held within means there's more of a reason to do it other than pure masochism or "teambuilding exercises"

Mostly the "As the developers intended" part.

I have an FC full of fun people to talk to who are retarded at combat, a CWLS i'm not confident asking for help with who are fun background noise, and some italian guy who would more than likely have asked to EB me if i was on his home world.

I doubt literally anyone has made friends in nightclubs.
Late-night small bars or cafes, maybe. You get actual interactions there, too.
The actual best way to make friends in an MMO is by running content together. I met the italian guy doing maps.
So, and I am being as serious as I can be by saying this, Get your fucking ass to the Bozjan Southern Front.

other than his ESL moments, i actually enjoy being around him and i'm having fun running my backlog of maps with him


this plugin is called map party assist, it lets you track your map dungeon stats without needing a spreadsheet for it, also it can keep track of how many maps you've done in the current session and where everyone's maps are according to the links they posted in chat

They're absolutely phenomenal when you also add the GC turn-ins, levequests, and Custom Deliveries. Don't rely on the actual story quest, it's the hand-ins that have the real value

I have been relying on levequests with some GC turn ins primarily, the former seems stupidly good when I can gather/buy a bunch of materials for say, a circle of leather and get to the next level of quests that has similar items,

Had a lot of fun there, but I think I saw a total of two conversations in shout or in any of the three dungeons over the course of 3 relics ground out.

I had someone earlier mention my adventurer plate (which I completely forgot was a thing and completely forgot I set) and that's probably the most I've seen a human talk in this game since the release of Dawntrail.

Barring, of course, SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENS during Interphos.

Probably. I used to play as one, this character is a Miqo but I have a mod that removes the cat ears and tail because i prefer the face shape.

Depending on whenever it was you tried, I know cross DC travel was disabled for a while after DT launch. You could only travel to Dynamis on the NA DCs, although that got lifted after like....a month?

Aether's still got hard lockdowns because it's debatably the most populated NA DC.

Which still makes me question how the hell so many people transferred off Primal to Aether for raiding back during the height of the restrictions.

Oh, I thought the 100% restrictions for DC travel lasted only a little while and then it was basically just during periods of congestion.
