Ill ask since im sorta confused about this, does being e-stalked by a retard even matter that much? I keep seeing more emotional responses to why the stalking is bad but is there an actual game disruption? I have been meaning to take alot of whining as retarded hyperbole because the XIV fanbase kinda is very faggy and sensitive

I can almost guarantee most of the people whining about being stalked were never actually stalked. They probably heard or saw once or two instances of it ever then figured it's a quick way to get attention. This is the same community who all claim they have some trauma or PTSD because they think it's cute and it's how they get attention. These people just revel in the idea of being a victim in any way, shape, or form.

EDIT: Not to mention so far a nice amount of people I've seen whining over it are cheaters who try to hide via alts. They scared they gonna get exposed now.

Short answer, no. It makes no difference in game and only applies to other retards who are sucked up into XIV's social bullshit.

I imagine there's at least one weirdo like that in any of these degen circles who can make your time in game miserable if they feel so inclined. If they're dedicated enough to track down your alts then you probably don't have much recourse except to stop playing the game.

There's several of them in any given group based on personal observations and experience. And the recourse at this point is just to maintain a tidy blacklist in order to avoid them. It's really not that big of a deal ultimately unless you get suckered into putting any weight into the gay social dynamics XIV's player community likes to foster.

As others have said, it's probably a non-issue if you aren't a degenerate ERPer and/or hide your power-level in game. But then, as other posts in this thread have shown, the terminally online can't help themselves.

In a rare conversation she decided unprompted to explain to me that she and her "bunboy" (who I believe later left the group and she started talking about him like an abusive ex shortly before I realised I'd be happier without any FC) had left a previous group because an even weirder tranny had been stalking them and using mods to make random porn of their avatars and sending her screenshots

I recall a friend playing a MMO and being good buddies with this other player, months later I asked him what happened to that guy and he told me how the dude would use mods to strip his character naked and take screenshots, he was disgusted and stopped interacting with him altogether. I don't recall the specifics but this wasn't a one off thing, it was constantly. He may also have asked my friend to ERP.
Lastly all of this was around 2013 so cumbrains like this have been around since forever.

I knew a guy who did this once. Never underestimate the sheer amount of mentally unstable people playing XIV. It's like a singularity.

You can bet someone probably seethed about that for a good while to their FC or private friend group.

Slight EDIT: I still miss the earliest 2.x days when I could get away with making fun of these people to their faces.

The community of this game will have a meltdown over literally everything because most people who play this game live such privileged lives that they wouldn't know real hardship if it slapped them in the face a couple times and violated their assholes and their desperate need to have any sort of excitement in their otherwise boring and worry free lives has them sniffing up any tiny "drama" their goblin noses can pick up.

Wuk Lamat not only has the most dialogue in Dawntrail, she's 3rd in dialogue ranking for the ENTIRE MSQ, just behind the twins, almost more than Alisaie's entire script since ARR. The claim of being the "most cutscenes for an MSQ ever" really pulling its weight.

As an aside, I'm surprised to see Y'shtola looks like number 1 for Endwalker, since I don't really remember her talking our ear off.

Just saw this myself. Fuck me, I knew Wuk Lamat was a problem but the third highest number of lines in the entire MSQ is frankly insane. I know a lotta people also point to Zero but I think that maybe the patch cycle meant it wasn't nearly as much of an issue, plus Zero being a slightly better character.

I'm glad this guy published the data though. So many people have been saying shit like "well of course the main character of an expansion is gonna have the most lines" and shit. This is good solid proof that it's not just "you're not the main character", it's far more than that.

Also I hope to god they fire the lead narrative writer for what they did during Dawntrail lol.

Story about an experience a dear friend of mine had with FF14: he played male Miqo'te, with glasses and the cute face. Me and the group of friends I started playing the game with left our FC on one server and moved to this other one, and joined this international FC. After a while, the FC leader approaches my catboy friend and tells him that "He sold him to a friend of his, and he got some furnishing for the FC house in return."

My friend was shocked at first, laughed it off, and went to this "date". He basically got gifted free shit from this dude, who was another catboy (note: the FC leader was also a catboy), and he stuck around with this dude up until he got asked to do more "spicy" stuff, at which point he got the fuck outta dodge and disconnected right in front of him.

When he relogged back in, he promptly blacklisted him and ignored him.

This happened around Stormblood release.

Another quick note: every character mentioned in this story, in-game and outside of the game, is male.
