Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

being an omnicrafter is now I don't need the Credendum gear
Tbh you don't need poetics gear for levelling unless you're doing only 1 job at a time. (And you don't need the level 70 stuff and to a lesser extent level 80, just head to bozja till you're level 90)
Lv89 gear and some accessories from doing sidequests (plus a EW EX7 weapon) is more than enough to level one of my jobs through the Pelupelu, but if I wanted to hardcore level it i'd do some of the level 91 dungeon on a different job for gear to get said job into the level 91 dungeon.

Omnicrafter?
Omni = all
Omnicrafter = All crafters max level
There's levels to it, you have the guy who has all of them levelled to see the number go gold and doesn't do anything with them but self-repair,
then the guy who has last tier's gear with melds because scrip gear is expensive if it's still Artifact Armor and the thundersilk set is all you need for anything before Master Recipes XI,
then the guy who has the current tier's gear with melds to be able to craft stuff for the market,
and finally you have the pentamelded faggot who is almost definitely using Artisan to hammer out as many items as possible whenever he isn't raiding.

Almost all omnicrafters also have level capped gatherers.

Crafter Autists, got it. Eventually i will start with culinarian first but i tend to get distracted in the game. Looking forward to it because it is something that isnt doing dungeons/content and i can just sit in my corner and mellow out.

Pretty much, yeah. Now that i'm done with Mentor Roulette, I'm going to see how many items in a list it takes for Artisan to crash my game. (It took 200 for Teamcraft to have a stroke and die.)

I've been leveling Pictomancer lately so I just went fuck it, I'll get by on regular crafted gear and worry about the Archeo-Kingdom gear when I get there

Archeo-Kingdom gear
Depending on the cost of the pieces it might be better off just buying 7 tops (or legs. Technically weapons too but they're always more expensive.). Since we're in the odd patch, you can turn them in for tokens, and those tokens in for any piece of Augmented gear.

Tbh I just have not bothered to gear the rest of my jobs. I mean I could if I wanted but I just don't care enough lol

Omnicrafter?
Are you telling me you've gone this far playing the game and you don't know what an Omnicrafter is?
Omincrafter just means someone who has all their crafting jobs maxed out so they can craft basically anything in the game that can be crafted.

I have barely interacted with Crafters in any capacity. I only know they exist and occupy public space. But i do plan to get more into crafters since you autists have made me curious of crafters.

Better make sure you got a shit load of time because crafting and gathering is a massive time sink completely separate from PvE and PVP. Leveling is the easy part. After that you have to worry about overmelding if you want to be halfway decent, memorizing what a lot of your toolkits are and creating crafting rotations to actually craft a piece of gear. A lot of materials to craft endgame stuff is also locked behind gatherer books and are on spawn timers to top it off so you can only gather a limited amount of mats each time. Even when you're fully overmelded, you still need end game crafting food to still even have a shot at crafting some things. You'll also need to farm scrips which is the currency used for crafting and gathering to buy mats, materia and tokens for books to unlock gathering nodes and crafting recipes. Lastly, some crafts can only be done when you're a "specialist" in that craft. You can only be a specialist for 3 crafting jobs at a time. You can switch them but you need to pay 1000 scrips for an items to do that.

Also if you fuck up your rotation and fail the craft, say goodbye to the mats you spent lord knows how long it took for you to collect unless you're super lucky and manage to proc the trait that lets you recoup the mats. Most people just look up guides and create macros for rotations which makes things really easy. But be mindful trying to craft during server hiccups or DDoS attacks because the lag can and will mess up your macros and you will be forced to manually craft everything until it passes.

If you do become an onmicrafter, if you're really autistic about making gil, you can farm the high end raiders by crafting end game gear, food and pots that they use for raids. Those who don't have dedicated crafters to make all that stuff for them just go to the MB and they pay quite well. You can craft and sell popular housing furniture, craft and sell chocobo barding. There are like 2 mounts you can craft and sell on the MB. You can craft particle effect weapons from the extremes and sell those for glamor. You get the point.

Game is in maintenance, teamcraft is too poorly built to handle more than 450 items in a list, my only option is ffxivcrafting.com and that doesn't have a way to automatically filter out the Master Recipe items.

anyway fun fact the only crafted weapon series that have unique names rather than [Gear Series] or [Material] are the 50* (Needed for Zodiac Relic), 50** (Darksteel), and 80** (Facet) ones.

use Raphael to get your macros, also the server hiccups only affect players who play vanilla because crafting streamlining/automation software (there's a slight difference) sees the macro and presses the buttons immediately as soon as you're out of animation lock rather than when the macro's <wait.2> is up.

Good to know. Im a lalajew so i am interested in making Gil. I will keep what you peeps said in mind. Any resources that i could use for gatherers in general? Aside from the macros of course

I swear, we've talked about omnicrafting enough times in this thread that you think you would've picked up on the meaning by now.

Can't really give as much advice with gatherers, sorry. Just know that you can use your retainers to bring back specific items you need every so often.

If you're down for add-ons there's one that gives you an at a glance price of an item. I believe there's a site that does similarly but I cannot recall.

The money isn't the greatest with crafting unless you're making shit at the start of expansion/patch cycles. You can make a slow, steady drip of income. Pots and food might be worth it if you're using automation shit, although I imagine that's fizzled out a bit as more people discover shit.

That said there are benefits to having crafters leveled, one of which simply being that you can repair your own shit with dark matter.

If you're wanting to get into it, I recommend:

- Use levequests, the leveling quests, tribal quests to level MIN/BTN and do Ocean Fishing to level FSH. Leves aren't great for combat jobs but are great for crafting/gathering (moreso crafting, tbh.) Once you get to Custom Deliveries, you can do that as well. I think they unlock in Heavensward, although there's a proto-version with the Ixali in ARR.
- You can also do the Diadem, which is another source of solid XP. That's also unlocked upon completing HW.
- Have at least one of your retainers be a combat retainer. You can send them out on hunting missions to pick up crafting materials. More important with I think pre-Shadowbringers (as you can buy those mats with bi-color gems by doing FATEs) and especially important for fucking LTW.
- A corollary to the above, don't try to farm monster materials (eg, bone, leather, etc.) unless you are absolutely bored out of your skull and have nothing else to do. It is slow and not really efficient.
- I believe there is an automation tool called Gatherer. I'd have to ask my friends who use it. There's also another one called Autohook (again, I think.)
- It generally isn't worth trying to upgrade your gear every few levels unless you're doing tribal quests, as you do need to be level relevant. You can level FSH from 1-100 just from Ocean Fishing and don't need anything beyond the starter gear (although having access to better gear gives you more overall XP, but it is still stupid amounts of XP per trip regardless.) I'd upgrade gear at level caps (eg, 50, 60, 70) with scrip gear or just get the NPC vendor shit if you need to get over a particular hump.
- DO YOUR QUESTS FOR EACH ROLE. There are a number of very useful skills that are unlocked via role quests. I only emphasize this because it is insane the number of folks I know who have crafters in like the 60s or 70s and haven't done a single quest.

If you're wanting to make money, Bozja and Eureka are both fairly reliable/consistent ways to generate a starting cashflow (there's cosmetics, dyes and just straight gil in the case of Bunny FATEs, plus some big ticket items like the Cassie Earring, although those are super rare.) The easiest/best way to make gil is through Free Company subs, which require your own dummy FC and an FC house. It's something like 12M (I think) a month on average once you're set up, but it does require something like 20M or so for startup, unless you're crafting a ton of shit for sub parts in advance.

Also, don't over gather unless you plan on selling the excess
Patently false. You will always overgather and you will always fill up your retainers inventories because you will eventually have a reason to either use or share those mats. Not having those mats when you needed them will make you want to kill yourself.

Price Insight. It gets its data directly from Universalis.

I believe there is an automation tool called Gatherer
It's GatherBuddy Reborn from the Combat Reborn repo. Or you can just use Visland and Pandora, lol. (That or you're thinking about Forager, which is a paid addon for MMOMinion. If your friends are paying for botting software they're fucking retards.)
There's also another one called Autohook (again, I think.)
Punish repo, and yes. Though it takes a lot more setup than GBR if you're trying to go for specific fish, and it won't anti-AFK for you.
It generally isn't worth trying to upgrade your gear every few levels unless you're doing tribal quests
You can, and might want to, level yourself from 55 straight to 90 through HW collectables. I'd stop at level 80 if you don't have the Road to 90 though.

Said skill is called Manipulation. It is incredibly fucking important for lategame crafting rotations.

Patch notes are up. What the fuck is this emote supposed to be?

Clouddark Is can now be turned in for IIs at a rate of 5 Is to 1 II.
Seems like the Dawntrail Master Role Quests are going to give you the Bright Bustle Orchestrion Roll at the end. (The jewish theme from the role quests.)

Also Lateral-Core and Core-Lateral have been replaced with each other in Cloud of Darkness. Thank you SE for messing with literally everyone's muscle memory for the fight because of one german bitch on the official forums.

Eh i just skipped through the discussion because i wasnt interested in crafters unlike now.

Appreciate the tips and advice. Ill be sure to take them to heart(i copy pasted them into notepad) when i embark on this project.

God, I can't tell you how many fucking times I got rid of excess only to realize 5 minutes later that I needed it after all.
Then I have to take my ass all the way back to the node and fucking wait until the window opens again. It's as painful as pissing battery acid.
