I very much enjoyed the Arcadion raids this tier with the exception of M6. I don't *hate* the music but it's competing with overall good music from the other raids and the EX, and overall just not a memorable fight at all. For one thing the lala is supposed to be a graffiti artist, why is the fight based around her creating landscapes? Not saying you can't make graffiti landscapes but it's the last thing I would think of. They say she's the one who put most of the graffiti around True Vue and there's nothing that looks even remotely like a landscape there. Just felt like they had no ideas past copying the sugary Honey B Lovely look again.
I wasn't sure if I'd bother with Savage but I'm tempted just to see how hard they go on M7S.

Don't even need to set up a VPN, just download TOR browser and bookmark the onion address. Costs $0 and is about as hard to set up as installing anything.

Well, I finished the MSQ line. I didn't try out the raids, but I did try out the new "design" for BLM. Jesus fucking christ.

The timers for me the thing that made BLM not braindead. It gave you a rhythm of sorts. With it out of the way you can turn your brain off. Thank god im close to finishing leveling it to 100 and then ill fuck off to Warrior.

New DoL/DoH gear means I can just fuck off and grind the scrips I still need(3600 purple for the last 3 books, 4000 orange for the rest of the tools, and 4500 orange gatherer for the gear). Need to flip my low level materia and buy more grade XII

Yeah, without the timers it... doesn't make sense as a job. It has no decisions to make, and Umbral Soul has no point: it's there to give you umbral hearts in downtime, it no longer pauses the timer (or refreshes, even, its original point). But... if you have a single F4 stack on, it just makes sense to sit in AF during downtime to not lose it, since there's no consequence anyways. Paradox is literally just a button you press because it lights up. Firestarter no longer has any skill expression - you transpose out of ice to AF1 and press it, every time, without fail.
The cast times being so quick is so forgiving, and two stacks of triplecast is entirely too much mobility for the class. Instant despair no longer needs to exist or has a point, since it was only added in because whoever did the 7.0 changes was clearly using the firestarter proc to extend their second fire phase, never saving it for the gain when transposing. The changes were clearly made by someone who didn't play the job and didn't understand the job, and they STILL did not fix the fucking AoE rotation (if anything, the cast speed buff to flare makes it even worse). The fact that they went out of their way to spite nonstandard lines that no longer even make any sense was just the icing on the cake.
If massive job overhauls are being made by people who don't even play the job at a competent level, where does it go from here? How did it get there?

I felt that paradox already took take of renewing AF before it expired for more Fire IV's. The fast cast on it now is kinda overkill. Im interested to see if BLM finally is able to out damage Picto or its RIP at this point.
Gonna wait for the next patch to renew sub since the perception isnt too hot rn, plus tight on cash.

Okay I finished the MSQ. Here are my autistic thoughts about it that no one asked for.
-The real Sphene is great. I actually like her, unlike her illogical facsimile. I think they did a good job building her character and while I'm not a fan of "bring a supposedly dead character back to life" trope, I'm happy that we got to see what the original Sphene was like. The mystery surrounding why she was put in cryo and why Preservation lied to the people about it is neat too.
-Wuk Lamat is finally learning how to step aside to give someone else the spotlight. She's noticeably less annoying this time around.
-Blue lizard is being more proactive.
-Trial was amazing.
-Slight glimmer of hope that not all Alexandrians are ultra speds.

The whole reason why it won't work is because endless require a steady supply of aether to continue to exist so even if you take all the aether throughout the multiverse, that supply will eventually run out without any way to replenish it, we've been over this already in base DT. Yet this yuppy inists that it's for the EVOLUTION of mankind. What's evolutionary about dooming the universe to permadeath once you run out of batteries? What, he thinks because he no longer has to worry about a sickly body that it means everyone should turn into disembodied piles of memories? He is a SCIENTIST and proported GENIUS. How is he this fucking stupid?
-Reusing plot points that should have been resolved base game.
-New dungeon was meh.
-That's twice now that Alexandria has had their own drones turned against them. You'd think they'd be smart enough to move away by now or I don't know...develop a method where they can just disable any attacking drone. They're surrounded by lightning aether. Just zap the things, for fuck's sake. Or have some sort of failsafe for shutting down combat units in case of emergency what with being surrounded by hundreds of machinenery that can kill them at any moment. Seems like a massive plot hole that these things can just be hackerman'd at any point by anyone and turned into killing machines.

The last patches dungeon was so much better so this one is a disappointment. On the other hand, the story of this patch is a bit better compared to 7.1 so I guess there’s that. Better though, not good.
Might be my memberberries speaking but Beatrix’s trial has been my favorite for this entire expansion. Music shapes a lot of what I think about something though and that song was fantastic.

this continues to bother me. early on it's established that aether is never created or destroyed, only transmuted or briefly trapped in a physical form before returning to the planetary supply. but in DT, in a total reversal from all the talk about aether beforehand, it's offhandedly asserted that the Endless are unsustainable due to the aetheric cost. why? what's the difference between supporting a digital body with aether and a living body with food? wouldn't it be more efficient since the Endless don't constantly need bodies and can be put in sleep mode at will? if the kingdom's resources could support that person while they were living through the extremely complex process of producing food, why can't they be supported in death with the logistically much simpler process of channeling power through electrope? how are the Endless destroying aether? it's never established or explained. why do they need to outsource aether production when the area inside the dome doesn't show signs of being aetherically depleted, much less the now-uninhabitable area outside the dome - which consists of at least the entire continent, and presumably might extend to the rest of the universe more or less - which consists purely of volatile lightning aether? if it's truly a crisis, wouldn't the vastly more expedient option be to harvest aether from the land, or to destroy living things such as plants and animals to convert their corporeal aether into power? you're telling me that even if we take for granted that the Endless are somehow irreversibly destroying their reflection's aether supply, that one city is destroying so much aether that the energy remaining in the entire fucking universe is not enough to sustain them indefinitely, or even for the foreseeable future? that they've apparently managed to nearly drain their entire reflection's aether supply to the point of desperation (without meaningfully altering the severity of the lightning calamity) in the span of a four hundred years, but the draining of aether from other reflections - judging by the reactions of the characters involved - represents at most a morally questionable no-no rather than a severe existential crisis for the entire fabric of reality? this story is fucking stupid.
