Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
It appears that doomer channel ran by someone skinwalking as Athena is indeed ran by a Zodiark Trancer, note the like from them on this comment from one of their videos:

Athena Trancer.webp
Trancers have a hatred for Venat but a hypocritical love of Athena (who is literally everything they believe Venat to be) . It appears they abandoned that Echoes of Eithrys channel (which Emetchad exposed them for effectively viewbotting, using their dozens of members to artificially inflate the viewcount by watching the videos on repeat endlessly using multiple accounts each, and further boosting engagement with these sock accounts with likes and comments):

Zodiark Trancers artificially inflating their video views.webp

Though, it should've been obvious to me when I watched that one video where the channel admitted to using addons to moddify NPCs like the Scions to make them "more attractive"

_AthenaAreia modding Scions.webp
_AthenaAreia modding Scions 2.webp

Which happens to be something the Trancers have bragged about doing before). One specific thing this channel owner showed in said video is how "she" modified G'raha's face to look more "masculine" which is something I've seen another Trancer do on Twitter before (but I can't find the screenshot I saved of it, but I did save this one:

This is 100% a Trooncer channel, and this channel appears to be the Trooncercord's latest project. Expect "her" to do a sudden hard pivot into whinging about Venat and why she's the most evil creature in the universe and forget about criticizing Dawntrail and everything else that actually matters.

I always had my suspicions with that channel with how fast it grew and amount of likes the videos would get even a short time after going up. Not to mention the extreme WoW shilling.
I believe Highlancowman was one of Aveyond’s many accounts, he makes new accounts every time he gets banned or when 4chan users discover him. You can tell if it’s him because he’ll be retweeting bara art and pics of muscular men in between crashing out over XIV and XVI.

Taken a break from FF14 and im even considering if i should even care about the new patch. I dont know if the colored crack rocks grind drained my energy for the game, but i cant be fucking bothered to come back with the same enthusiasm to play. Will probably use this time to try out a different mmo, maybe that will raise my motivation to play ff14 again.

I stopped doing relics mid Stormblood because it felt like a waste of time hardcore grinding over a weapon that will become irrelevant and nothing more than a glamour piece in the next expansion due to the vertical gear progression. Relics are much more meaningful in FFXI because Relic/Mythic/Emperyan weapons from old content can still be upgraded to the current ilevel 119. I wish they would do what they did with the HW relics where you can trade in a fully completed weapon from the previous expansion to skip a few steps for the current one. I liked being able to trade my ARR Zeta to skip the first few HW relic steps because it felt like I was making a weapon and have it grow alongside me throughout the expansion. Shame they didn’t continue that.

Then there's the wintraders in Ranked PvP, which is why the same 5 names are always at the top every single season because, once you get to a high enough tier, you will be gatekept by these trannies who will throw the match if you end up in their team to knock you out of the ranking. Same kind of shit happens in Frontlines too, with mass-premades that que together and one team will deliberatley throw the match for the other.

I'm aware of the wintrading shit and of a couple idiots who were pulling stunts in CC like you described, but not in the sense that it is super widespread or a problem.

This shit about 'mass premades in Frontlines' who will deliberately throw the match, though? Nah, the community of people who actually enjoy Frontlines is pretty small and people would rather try to stunt on people they know than throw matches.

You can only queue in with 4 people maximum and there's no way to guarantee getting other groups to queue with you even if you queue sync. Some of the discords do organize queue nights on various DCs and do gimmicky shit but there's no throwing.

It's just folks who either shotcall and people listen to them and either streamroll a team of clueless retards who are 'just here for the XP' or match up against teams where people know what's going on. It's especially bad during mogtome season.

That said, there is some drama between these retards (and it is worse in CC) where they get on each other cases. There was some dude who was babbling on about how he had a huge document and how this one PVP regular is a groomer and was arguing with someone who was friends with this person. There are little cliques and dumb bullshit but it usually manifests in folks tunnel visioning on them or trying to grief them if they're on the same team.

I've tried to keep my eye and document this shit but I don't have anything I can really archive or share without potentially revealing my character.

CC is a little different as there's some guys who are just straight up retarded and potential lolcows, but nothing really interesting. Usually just inane drama typical of any online competitive game. The top 10 last season was actually pretty competitive but it looks like the win traders are back at it this season.

Funny enough he made a twitter account and this is like 90% of what his feed is

Also Llamatodd discovered the channel after he made a video defending him against the white knights (after he got blasted on twitter for criticizing the state of the game)

6d2fa0fa-037e-4864-b7ee-58dcf721e4a1.webp

I'm not sure if Todd is aware of the other content on his channel (where he goes very mask off with his politics), let alone his Twitter where he's even MORE mask off, but this could be a mistake for him, once the Xitter crowd discover Todd being friendly to an openly racist/tranny-hating channel he's probably getting excommunicated from the XIV content creator sphere and blacklisted from SE sponsorships or any media tour invites. The Xitter white knights are already on his ass lately (for being critical of Dawntrail, but also for his associations with Rich Campbell and Tectone), this will be what ends his career in XIV if this get's out.

I used to help out a static which had the main PvP win trader for the elemental DC in it, and my god was that guy the biggest fucking loser I have ever met online, dude sperged out for a solid 20 minutes about how he'd win trade triple triad tournaments just to see his name on the leader board that fucking no one cared about.

As a WOW player I have never fucking understood why the Relic weapons were remotely a popular mechanic.

Like I have specific issues with Artifact Weapons and the like but at least you get something interesting secondary effects out of most Legendary weapons that you have to go through hoops to get/grind to empower, in FF14 your big grind is just...a stat stick. The Etherial Cloak that we are getting in WOW is kinda lame but it will still at least occasionally blast someone in the face.

Relic weapons are well, a relic. They are only in 14 because they were in 11. They were massive grinds in 11 so they are massive grinds in 14. The venn diagram of 2.0 and 11 players in almost a circle. Pretty much everyone I played with when ARR first released was an old 11 player.

At least they had special effects in 11 and are still relevant even now.

Relics were also in 1.0 as the ultimate end game weapons and they were extremely difficult to obtain even compared to ARR and beyond relics.

Does anyone know what's going on with demolitions? A friend of mine who's been out of the game since 7.1 got me to check on his house, as it's well past the renewal period since he logged in, to see that it was still there.

Apparently demolition has just been paused ever since November in EU servers. I know they sometimes do it in response to emergencies in different countries but I've heard no reason why at the minute.
My working theory is there's so few new buyers for houses that it's more beneficial for them to wait for players to come back than it is to resell the plots.

Part of it consists of players who are big into glams. Part of it are for people who want some sort of 'phat lewt' but aren't wanting to commit to Savage. Some are collectors (the number of 'I've completed all the ARR Relics / all Relics / all Relics for this expansion / etc' on Reddit is pretty high.)

They are at least addressing that with the Crafting/Gathering Relics as they've been given some interesting secondary effects, but I would agree that this is a bigger overall problem in MMOs in general -- I really want to see item diversity, niche case uses for items, etc. instead of everything just being stat sticks.

I think back to early WoW, FFXI, Everquest, etc. and there are items folks got that were not only powerful, but had unique qualities to them (even if some of them were just kinda 'meh'.)

The Cleric Rez stick, BFG, Tolan's Bracer, the OG Epic Weapons (which, honestly, is what I think the original FFXI Relics stem from) are all items that immediately spring to mind from Everquest.

Kraken Club, Elemental Staves, Joyeuse, are ones from FFXI.

The AV 2h mace (I think it was the Unstoppable Force?) pre-nerf, the dragonscale breastplate that could sleep folks on hit, Felstriker, Thunderfury, etc. were all notable items from WoW.

Everything is homogenized, and I get it from a balance perspective that it'd be a nightmare to try and continually account for like 800 different random items that could trivialize an encounter, but I really think that sort of stuff is missing from current year games.

And that's not even getting into just silly gimmicky items that are cosmetic or whatever. Crap like the Mask of Deception, Dartol's Rod, etc. WoW still has that (I would assume, at least) but it'd be nice to see in FFXIV that aren't just like 5 second animations that play over your head and are a consumable.

Well like i can understand not wanting to try to balance a billion different things, but if you have an expansion long set of quests for your big weapon I think by the end it should do something...MORE.

Like Mists of Pandaria just launched, and you can complain that everyone gets a legendary...but the Expansion Long Quest..that gave you lots of tiny rewards and ended with a big ass Cloak that lets you unleash the power of the main Gods of the Expansion..is COOL.

I agree 100%.

And to be fair, the last time there was an 'epic quest' for your Relic was like 3 expansions ago, or ARR if you want to be really anal. Generally they're just grind fests where you dump currency and move on.

Nah, that stuff is cool and having that sort of vibe would be interesting. I think someone earlier in the thread suggested tying Relic quests to the Job quest lines, which would make a lot of sense.

Bottom line, item diversity is a good thing in MMOs and gives people a reason to be playing as it gives a tangible goal to work towards.

It's content for casual/midcore players to get a cool weapon.

The issue with WoW they're trying to prevent in FFXIV is simple - if the Relic is better than the raid weapon, then "hard core" raiders will have to do non-raid content to be competitive in raiding. You (used to? IDK) see it in WoW with raiders doing Arena to get the PVP weapons that were better then the PVE ones and vice versa.

Relic Weapons are usually boring but I appreciate FFXIV having content that doesn't penalize you for not doing it.
