I was always skeptical they're gonna re-run FF7, given how 1.0, and ARR was replete with VII's references. (If the entire Golden Saucer and Meteor thing didn't clue you in.) They even dug up the Weapons for ShB.

My guess is that if they ever do a "FF7 expac" it will be more about Jenova (or a similar entity) and a sephiroth expy.

I do wonder if the upcoming expac will be about alien threats, there is a whole universe out there and we are still dealing with the ancient niggas, yeah I get it entrophy and dead civs everywhere (and the birds speed up the process in some instances) but there must be some long forgotten experiment siting in a basement in some remote planet or a planet eater/destroyer chilling inside of an Asteroid, or hell just in a parallel reality (not a shard).

They already have, the black Auracite, also known as the Heart of Sabik, was sent to this world by the Ultimicians, of which Ultima, fought in the tactics raid is one, Athena was somewhat manipulated by the Heart and hwr super form is similar to their design aesthetic.

They are space parasite demons, will the Heart show up for a 4th go around? In actual MSQ? Who knows

God I would love a parallel reality kind of story. My only fear is CS3 not putting their heavy hitters on it and doing it a massive injustice ala Dawntrail.

Unrelated note: I found out by pure happenstance something about the regulators on the Solution 9 population; they used Dried Oldrose flower head glam as a base. Fits perfectly in the spot.

We are getting hints of that on Oizys (most recent Cosmic Exploration zone), as we basically excavate these ruins and power up one of their gizmos that shows a course they had charted. One of the rabbits specifically states that they want to track them down.

The next planet we're going to that was previewed in the Live Letter is a lush, non-hellscape type place, so we may be getting introduced to a new race/faction/whatever. I'm guessing we're going to get some story about them dying off and they left a message of hope or whatever.

It would be nice if narrative beats can pop up in different areas rather than everything being tied to the story. And if you have no interest in gathering/crafting there's a a small catch-up quest that explains things if it does get tossed into the MSQ.

I would say get whatever you don't have, then buy either Gold Saucer VIP cards or 100% guaranteed portal maps, they're only maps that can stack.

Looks like my hunch about the Cosmic Exploration zone is looking to be correct, as the remnants of whatever civilization was there have all their crap grown over/abandoned.

I like the visual flair they're doing with the Phantom Summoner, and the FFXI PLD glam is nice.

Your only real choices for NA DCs are Primal and Dynamis. Aether is always fully congested and Crystal's reputation as the main hub for all the ERP shit precedes it. Primal I don't hear much about personally, I do know Dynamis is a nightmare for queuing for anything so you are almost guaranteed to have to DC travel to do much of anything,

Aether is 100% locked down due to raid trannies, Crystal is infected with AIDs (as is Faerie on Aether and Seraph on Dynamis), Primal is infested with Hispanics, and Dynamis is a dead DC only good for parking alts and raking in cash from subs.

You just right-click on the character name at the selection screen and choose the Data Center Travel option, then select your destination DC and server. Like all things in FFXIV it's more obtuse than it actually needs to be.

It's blocked to new character creation and paid transfers. As far as I'm aware DC travel is allowed. They usually will only block DC travel to it during the initial rush when something like a new Savage or Ultimate is released. Otherwise the most you might contend with is a queue.

Gotcha, wasn't super aware of how it all worked. I lucked out and rolled on Midgardsormr on Aether ages ago. I know I had to watch like a hawk for it to become uncongested so a friend could gtfo from Primal a while back.
