There's been a lot of leaks surrounding The Balance discord, which is the biggest raiding discord for FFXIV resources. Specifically about the admin, who's face I posted earlier in the thread. Coincounter from AV getting its moves visually telegraphed in 5.3 is generating a massive salt pile. I find it funny that people suddenly care about AV enough to cry about one boss getting “dumbed down.”

It's a XIV-specific "grognard" thing, I'm sure. People like the few times the game expected you to have proper situational awareness when progressing instead of just "here is color marker on the floor for bad things, move out of the bad spot".

True, I still think people are overreacting to a boss in a dungeon that nobody even likes. Besides Coincounter is one of the easier parts of AV and its reputation of being a noob filter is overblown. If you really want an example of horribly nerfing an actual noob filter look at Amdapor Keep and the removal of the bee adds in the Demon Wall fight. And that was a (previously) max level dungeon required if you wanted to make a ARR relic.
Though it is weird that Coincounter gets this nerf but the Chimera in Cutter’s Cry is left alone.

If you really want an example of horribly nerfing an actual noob filter look at Amdapor Keep and the removal of the bee adds in the Demon Wall fight.

I still believe the most heartbreaking nerf they ever made was turning the Steps of Faith trial into a total joke after the first couple of weeks because it was "too hard" for most players to pull their heads out of their asses and coordinate dragonkillers and traps properly.

I'm glad I actually got to do it on release because it felt like a real challenge and accomplishment to take down Vishap.

I do it too, AV and Vishap are insta leave for me.
If I'm doing roulette it means I'm bored out of my mind, and I sure as hell dont ahve the patience to tard wrangle people through 2 of the most boring and tedious duties in the entire game.

Speaking of leaks, call outs and degenerates. I was reading a thread on shitpostxiv where Xenosys got a 10 day ban and one of the comments talked about an SQEX community rep for the game that is abusive to players in game and IRL. http://archive.md/d1CGz

Because troons with few exceptions are hyperprogressive. The only people that hate jews more are legit nazis and Black Herbrew Israelites.
Anyone have recommendations for a job? Stopped playing for a few months and I’m thinking of getting back in. I was originally SMN, but eventually switched to SCH because as strong as SMN is I don’t like it’s rotation. I’m thinking Astrologian just due to how dry SCH ended up being. I also got Dark Knight to max and found I didn’t really like tanking.

The FFXIV community once again has no clue what they're talking about. That bosses move sets were poorly telegraphed to begin and his signature AOE had no clear communication about what it does and that it'll one shot you if you're a DPS/healer.

Theoretically they’re meant to be liasons between the compqny and the users. A good one functions like that so that the devs have someone on staff that has a nuanced understanding of how the end-users feel about what they’re doing, and the users have someone who can elaborate on things or vent their spleen at; but most of them are what you’re thinking of.

I don’t recall much but I remember XI fans had a reputation among fans of ther mmorpgs at the time of being immature weebs who only got into the game because it was Final Fantasy. A lot of XI vets glamorize how awesome the community was back in the day yet everyone was so anti social and dramatic. It’s funny seeing XI fans today trashing XIV fans for being weebs that only play for the Final Fantasy brand when they too were hated back in the day for the exact same reasons.
