Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
People bully lalafells? I thought we were worshipped: People often pat me on the head or emote at me while I'm dealing with my retainers. The worst I've ever gotten was to be randomly accosted as a dress-up doll for an hour because some kids thought my glamour was too plain. Got some outfits (that I don't use because I like the basic, low level robe too much) and, later, an invitation to a wedding out of it.

My biggest problem being a lalafell is that, in certain boss battles, you can't see shit. Or, at least, I can't see shit: I'm so small that it starts feeling like a bullet hell with how far back I need to keep the camera to see everything. Sometimes I just straight up get lost if a boss summons a bunch of minions. Though to be fair, I probably need glasses.

As for ERP, RP, and any drama, I've yet to see it outside of descriptions in the party finder. Then again I'm rarely in town, never have general chat on, have guild requests set to off, and always have myself set to 'away'. And that's just because I got tired of the constant, random guild invitations. But I'm in Brynhildr; I guess it's different elsewhere?

People shit on Lalafells because a good portion of the game has npc Lalafells that are just massive pieces of shit in the story and are the cause of 99% of the problems happening in Ul'dah.

So when you do the story and every fucking time you turn your head theres a lalafell being typically evil, you get fed up with it.

Filthy little money grubbers...

Theres also a secret race war happening between black horned Au ra and White horned Au ra.

A humorous note in my experience is that, upon returning to give Shadowbringers a try back in December, I've noticed that most Tanks these days seem to turn their tank stance on no matter what, even in 8-man content and they're delegated to the "Off Tank" role
If the tanks are good, they should both have their stance on during 8-man content. It's just that the off-tank will turn theirs on a few GCDs into the fight and make use of shirk so they're always second on the enmity list. OT keeping their stance off can lead to a lot of problems where the MT will die and then the boss will hit a DPS player before the OT has a chance to turn their stance on and provoke.

The only problem with this is if the MT is exceptionally bad and the OT is outdamaging them by a wide margin. Then there's probably going to be stance-dancing involved.

It's often very badly written too.

I find this to be the best part about a lot of it. Not only is it people shooting hilariously awkward messages and hawking comically uncomfortable groups, but it's people who're the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel for this sort of stuff. Dunning-Kruger strikes again - although I imagine the sorts to solicit get enough bites that they keep at it in the end anyways.

Fucking Lalafell players, man. Always gigantic persecution complexes while acting like obnoxious faggots, same thing with the people who "stick up for them".

Seems like every tiny race attracts this same ilk of people, whether or not there's degenerates involved.

I come from the days where we didn't have Shirk so I'm a lot more used to the concept of OTs running with it off, which seemed to be a consistent mentality even back in Stormblood before they took away every Tank's DPS stance.

Granted, I only ever had one instance where my OT pulled off me during Ryne-Shiva, got most of the party cleaved, refused to shirk, so I just shirked them and let them take over instead. And they proceeded to die to mechanics a few minutes later. :story:

Had a friend who made an easy million gil off of interrupting a couple's "private" (being they just found an unpopulated little nook of a city to /tell each other back and forth in) ERP session once as a bribe. Playing ERP Police for shits and giggles on these people can be fun and profitable sometimes.

I've contemplated crashing these weird brothel groups by entering in as a completely ridiculous looking character. I did it before in some other MMOs to good success - at least, if the goal was to get salt from weirdos. Though I can't imagine I'd be the first in that regard, I have to wonder how many folks would see it through and play a thoroughly ridiculous character for all that while. If I can extort idle money from idle hands all the while, might be swell, even if I hear there isn't a ton of use for cash outside of collectibles and cosmetics at the end of the game. I'd take amusement if it turned out that the most eloquent writer in the whole sordid affair was someone clearly taking the piss.

Consumables are the biggest money sink, mostly because I'm lazy and I dont wanna spend an hour a day crafting shit for my raids.

That's a nice idea, since a lot of us are spread out on different data-centers. We could have dedicated data-center raid channels in Discord or just a chat in Telegram for memes and such.
Someone proposed a linkshell a few pages back, but others shat on the idea because I guess they're afraid of the rise of another Goon Corp. like in EVE Online or just don't want anything related to the farms being attached to them. I really wouldn't mind a way to talk to people who at least don't have a sensitivity to things like the kinds of things that go on here on the farms.

I've been enjoying my time in the game thinking that I was avoiding trouble, but that didn't last. My FC has two guys on it that act EX DEE SO RANDUM and I was just putting up with it. I made some predictable remark about autism in response to something one of them said in reaction to a Pokemon picture I had posted, and the one guy flipped his shit over it. Said that making such a remark was inappropriate, that I was an ass since the day I joined, and now an entire channel in that discord is gone because of his sperging. He said that this entire time he had looked passed my 'bad behavior' as he thought that I was autistic, and I guess the 'tisim train has come back to the roundhouse -holy shit. I don't even know what the guy is talking about as far as me being an ass goes. The worst I did was tease him for being a Lala loli lover. I guess the slow blade cuts the deepest.

After that I've entertained thoughts of starting a new FC -an FC where people don't get upset being called what they are and where we don't have to worry of this old John Belushi clip of Samurai Tailor is too racy to post.

Gas the lalafells
1v1 me faggot

Ahh, to be a filthy casual more interested in simply not being a burden than in being exceptional. This is the good life

Pretty sure it's just a bunch of weird autists ragging on troons, incompetent retards, and ecks dee uwu inbetween doing various gameplay things. What the hell kind of gay ops could you even organize in this game?

Methinks folks are either just antisocial or thoroughly worried about tying their characters' names to something associated with the 'farms. I suppose that's the advantage of using different names for different MMOs, and being anyways wholly unconcerned with having a bad rap in a game designed expressly around wasting time. That or they (rightly) think everyone on the farms is a huge faggot

That'd be chasing a pipedream, unfortunately. Unless you make a very small scale FC that is EXCLUSIVE to people only you personally know and your friends, it will inevitably get infiltrated by undesirables – usually by way of a mate that has good intentions – who will end up trying to power play for relevancy of the group and play the "tone policing" game once they gather enough "social currency," and then you'll suffer a good old guild splitting before long.

That's, at least, been the case in most instances I've seen in XIV (and in the one time I tried to make my own FC with my friends).

Not everyone who plays XIV is like this, but it's very concerning how many people I've seen over the years who do act like this. But then again, a lot of other MMOs have these problems as well and it's not exactly unique to XIV either.

Why I can't stand other lalafell players for the most part.

The problem with most of those gay ops is that they eventually become gay themselves. Been playing the game long enough and have seen enough groups that made fun of troons 2-3 years ago that were infiltrated by troons, and now making fun of them is a no-no.

As for myself, I definitely don't want my character's name associated with the farms. I'd be banned on sight from many discords with how bad the tone policing is in some places.

Pretty much what I said above.

This is probably the crux. I don't expect anything like this to kick for more than a month or two at most, really, and I'm looking for a distraction more than anything. I do think the idea of a FC's a little optimistic, doomed to fail -- but even then, if they come for me for the high crime of calling a spade a spade, I'll be nonplussed and just go play something else. I can't imagine most folks more invested into their characters would share the same sentiment.

Eh, there's a lot of young folks that play MMOs - and far more folks with arrested development besides. The genre seems to attract these sorts like a moth to flame, so I usually just assume anyone I interact with in these games is likely infirm and insane. Still rumproasted at being unpopular in high school, their controlling wrath shall know no end save their parents' not paying the internet bill.

Is that a bad thing tho? getting banned from discuck servers.
They offer little to nothing you cant find literally anywhere else, and if your teammates are so vapid as to ostracize you just for your connection to a sperg forum, maybe they arent worth your time (?)

I'm interested in the KF LS, it would refreshing to talk to people without having to treat them with kid gloves.

Some of them are essential to what I do. It would be really bad if I were to get banned from raid recruitment discords and such, and I know how petty the owners are. I have 0 respect for most discord server owners for this game, but there's nothing to be gained by directly painting a target on your back. Besides, half the thread is on Crystal anyway and linkshells tend to die after a while.

I also don't want to link my KF account to my other accounts as a basic precaution, whether it's FFXIV or something else entirely. This isn't the only thread I've been active on.

Does anyone even know why or how the FF XIV community is full of troons?

And miqo troons and twinks.
And the bara furry Hrothgar.
And the bara male Roes...
AND THE BARA MALE AU RA.

Trust nothing. Literally everything is either mega gay or super troon.
ngl, male au ra look pleasant for a female eye... can't say the same about others mentioned.
Though G'raha Tia one love :heart-full:
I'm so thankful they brought him back for Shadowbringers.

I'd oogle them too if literally every single one of them didn't autistically shout "I'M GAAAAAAY!" at me if I so much as glance at them.
