Dramacow FineBros - Copyrighting React Videos Controversy, the Ongoing Shitstorm, Sadly Increasing Subs

I got a reaction to the mass exodus of subs:

This is a good object lesson in how you can go, in one douchebag maneuver, from a widely disliked annoying pile of cancer, but pretty successful despite that, to a pair of lolcows overnight.

I'm a bit clueless about what's going on, can somebody explain to me why people are pissed?

Essentially they, like millions of others who tried, wanted to copyright the most basic properties everyone uses. Trends on YouTube are literally a dogshit dozen happening by the second, and these hipster fucks basically admitted to flagging everyone for copyright claims.

Everyone including their so called affiliates even.

I hope this finally gets YouTube to pull their heads out of their asses about the ridiculous potential for abuse of their DMCA system. People have been sick of it for more than half a decade.

Of course, that's never gonna happen. Optimistic away, lads.

YouTube's DMCA system is fucking abysmal. It's been proven that the DMCA system has been used as a form of censorship; someone will make a review of a movie/video game/etc that is negative and the review will be pulled for "copyright violation" even though the use of copyrighted material to create something original (such as the use of movie clips to demonstrate a reviewer's point) falls under Fair Use. One such example I can think of off the top of my head is the "Day One Garry's Incident" drama targeted at Total Biscuit. Another example is the recent drama involving Daddy Derek, the creator of Cool Cat, and IHateEverything (which was actually made into a great thread here at the Farms).

It appears as though the Fine Bros, like many others, have been abusing the same system.

Haha, this might be the quickest self-destruction I've ever seen for a product. Couldn't happen to a nicer set of people considering they're even fucking worse at shekel grubbing than DSP. Seriously using looks, and monetizing suicide notes and school shootings. GG you money grubbing kikes.

The cold reality is this type of circus show doesn't happen enough.

On top of REACT, they have also applied for, and have been approved for CELEBRITIES REACT, ADULTS REACT, PARENTS REACT. We will be opposing those as well. They also are applying for DO THEY KNOW IT?, KIDS VS. FOOD, LYRIC BREAKDOWN, PEOPLE V. TECHNOLOGY, and TRY NOT TO SMILE OR LAUGH. While those are all ridiculously generic and descriptive, in my opinion (they hate coming up with original ideas, huh?), we will not be opposing those just yet.

If it happened too much, it'd lessen the magic of times like this.
Oh youtube

And apparently even Tumblr's having a good time reacting to these fuckers demise, the fine bro's should sue tumblr for reacting, they could take each out out in a blaze of autism.
Considering I've stupidly given these dickheads money a few times over the years by watching a few of these, I'm not helping them dig out of their own hole.

EDIT: lol I'm super retarded it's not by them. The reactions are very fitting.

The defense brigade is unusually thin.

However, some creators have come to the Fine Brothers’ defence, including Tom Ridgewell and Sammy Paul.

“I honestly can’t/won’t talk shit about The Fine Bros,” Tom wrote on Twitter . “Kids React to asdfmovie was a big help for my channel and for that I’m grateful.

“Is it awkward af that they’re licensing their React series?” he continued. “Yeah. Do I understand what they’re doing form a business perspective? Also yeah.

“It goes massively against the spirit of YouTube as a community, despite what they’re claiming, but I can think of much worse things,” Tom added.

“They’re getting more bad press than YouTubers with multiple rape allegations,” he concluded. “That ain’t justice.”
