For fuck's sake, Graf does NOT need to get involved. From what I can tell, they use:
  1. Firebase for the live chat, fishtoys and account management
  2. Cloudflare for serving the frontend (they were using Next.js, so they required either serverless like Cloudflare Pages or an actual Compute VM/EC2 instance sitting behind Cloudflare)
  3. AWS Cloudfront as an edge CDN (Cloudfront is actually on the cheap side)
  4. Either GCloud or AWS for processing the streams
If the processing part is done with EC2 or MediaConvert, then the only reason GCloud even went down is because Firebase charges you per request, NOT by the amount of data you store, and they coded the site like a nigger (i.e. fetching the entire live chat for every update, not caching user avatars, sending the entire status of every single person in the chat and which camera they're watching to every user to update the live viewer count (this is real BTW!)). If it was really the streaming costs that brought the site down it would be AWS that suspended their account.

What they need to do right now is foot the bill, disable the chat temporarily to bring the cost down ASAP, fix the chat and then bring it back. People will be fine without the chat, you will be fucked if the entire stream is down for 2 whole days.

People on here seem to think that having a kid is like being born again or becoming another person.. and yeah you tend to get busy and isolated but you aren't freed from all worldly connections and desires.

This kinda boggles me cause they still didn't have the viewer count working for users by the time it went down. Maybe that idea of giving one of them a Leapfrog tablet, then setting it to stream from the tablet's camera to some sock YouTube account (but disabling everything except the stream itself somehow), wouldn't be half bad. At that point it'd just be 8 people hanging out from a TOS perspective, right? And even then they could maintain the cover story that the stream is still functioning, and that the tablet just provides another point of view.

They were letting basically anything through TTS yesterday/(this morning?). Sylvia was still sleeping and people started absolutely laying into her the second TTS was enabled in the morning. She was visibly malding over it and it was glorious.

It seems like they might just be moderating TTS selectively depending on whether they think it's gonna be too much at the time. Or if it just gets really fucking lame niggerspam.

Did they somehow not pay both AWS and GCloud at once? It would be weird if they coincided like that. Or maybe whatever they're using for video processing in the backend automatically manages the Cloudfront distribution too and deletes it when it goes down (this would also explain why the Cloudfront distribution changed yesterday). This might mean they use GCloud for transcoding the streams in addition to hosting Firebase on it.

The level of Sam dick-riding and total nonchalant acceptance of this fuckup as if this is not a beyond-lolcow-tier level of incompetence is staggering. I bet the sad fucks who paid $40 for this travesty won't even bother trying to refund because their poor Internet daddy figure needs their money more than ever now. In fact, a lot of people are now advocating for donating MORE to save Sam's ass. We're reaching only-fans-simp level of cuckoldry here.
