I'm glad that they're safe and they're still going to continue the show, but I feel like it's been ruined a bit for me. One of the things I was most looking forward to was seeing how the fish react to the fanbase and memes that revolve around Fishtank, which has been taken away now.
Even before the leak/swatting, the appeal was starting to wane for me. The show presented itself as being a bunch of ignorant/gullible people trapped in a house being subject to Sam Hyde and co. antics. Now we know that they all knew who Sam is to varying degrees, they've been outside now and have likely seen what might be coming in the future (Frank Hassle). Unlikely that Jon will act as retarded and believe the funny shit that he's been fed, and Josie may be spooked by the orbiters and act differently.
I'm way too fascinated to stop watching, but my expectations have changed.

it's probably also a to help calm them down. imagine youve just been swatted, and then the producers don't give you your phone at all - who knows how high emotions mightve been. everyone seems chill, but maybe that wouldve pushed them over the edge. you can never tell how much is too far.
they're there of their own free will, and maybe not being given an allowance like that after a real stressful situation would make them say 'fuck it this isnt worth it at all'.

at the end of the day they're people after all. people have limits, ways of reacting to things. phones are a source of comfort

No matter what Sam does, the address will be doxed eventually. The proper way to go about it is talk to the police department, give them the website, show them contracts about the show, and give them producer's phone numbers to reach out to when the inevitable swat call comes in.
I'm amazed that he didn't do any of these things, Sam can't be in the dark about people getting swatted. He intentionally showed a fake house and has tried to hide his office's address to prevent these things.
