Maybe it gives immunity to the fish who has it, so when a fish wins an immunity challenge, they get the totem.
The other fish can steal the totem, so they'll have to keep an eye on it at all times.

The production can also sell the totem as merchandise, like replicas of it, or keychains, etc.

I've seen more than one post here attempting to approximate the amount of income the show made. I've noticed that none account for 2 important factors.
1) No one has factored in that everyone with an account got free tokens multiple times. I didn't pay anything except the $40 to get the final product and I was able to send 4-6 TTS and vote in a bunch of polls just from the free coins. So let's say an average of 5 per person and 12k+ accounts. That's rough 60k free TTS and that needs to be factored in.
2) I've seen no mention of coins spent on polls. Granted the information may not be available but certainly a significant amount of tokens purchased went to this.


So I'd say the numbers are definitely off. It just depends if more was made on polls than lost on free TTS to determine if they were under, or over, estimating.

It's interesting that Vance and Letty were the two fish who had the idea to come into the tank playing up a character/role but it played out so differently for them.


Vance immediately showed his hand to the audience making sure to tell the cameras that he's actually a really nice guy and this is all for the show and even showing off the bits he had planned, while with Letty it was hard to know when she was being serious or doing a bit. He went to film school and somehow seemed to forget the importance of showing, not telling.


Vance is a superfan of Sam's and fancies himself a comedy guy so it's funny that Letty understood much better how to perform. She out-Sammed him by keeping it ambiguous where the character started and the real person began, but Vance was too worried about being liked and being accepted in the house to throw himself into it. It's an interesting role reversal based on the usual norms of male vs female socialization.

Vance is not a stupid guy and I think he knows he squandered his opportunity to grab the spotlight on the show so he copes by being like "well atleast people think I'm a nice guy! Atleast the other fish wanna be friends with me!"

Vance can do some funny stuff with improv so I'll give him props for that, but I don't think he has the fearlessness to be the comedian he wants to be.

I really hope they get some more charismatic and extroverted fish for next season. 12 seems like a good number to have to fill it with different personality types.

-Jet said that the ETA on the edited Season 1 is 6 months, before Season 2 begins

-Sam wants Season 2 to have 12 contestants

-Idea for the first challenge is to make everyone pack up as fast as they can one they're settled in

-Chris (Sam's crew, not Fatty) told Jon what fishtank will be about and how the viewers can fuck with the contestants while in the car after picking him up, which is why Jon knew it and spilled the beans to everyone in the tank

-They're having nightmares of fishtank (Except Josie)

-Josie is awestruck by the area, having lived on the desert reservation with her tribe, she has never seen so many trees before

-Fatty got ordered to talk to Goldstriker about getting Josie money in the finale, but they were worried that it would be fucked up because he hadn't seen Willy Wonka before, he ended up being brave and sticking up for them

-For Season 2 they plan to have an event everyday at the same time, so that everyone who cannot watch 24/7 can watch it

-The camping challenge only happened because the plumbing actually went out. This happened because they had a plumber check it out after Tax flushed a rubber snake, only for them to discover that the plumbing was actually fucked up and needed fixing regardless

-ETA on WP Season 2 is 8/9 months, it's halfway through shooting but a long time will be spent on post-production, they're having a problem with people laughing on set

-Next Season will give the contestants RFID Bracelets so that they can be followed through the house

-Another idea is to have a commissary in Season 2 for the fish to be able to purchase stuff with their earnings


-Josie will be selling merch at Game On Expo

-Letty plans on putting most of her cash into savings, will spend some money on streaming equipment and instruments

-Josie also plans on saving most of the money, some will go into her business so she can setup a website to sell her merch as well as streaming too

That's definitely accurate, I think sometime between when Damiel was eliminated until just before or just after Sylvia was eliminated, Vance kind of realized Letty's strategy was better than his. Letty's character was just a really gentle twist on who she normally is in the first place so she was free to just go around being herself until an opportunity to play up being stupid or ditzy arose. When she was down and didn't feel like doing it anymore she would just drop the mask and become a regular person and not reveal anything new to the other fish other than that she can pour her own boiling water. Vance was clearly burdened by what he thought was a big persona - it wasn't, but it seemed to take up more processing power than he had. So during that second-half lull he had after Damiel quit he was shocked into being quiet and more boring than ever because he couldn't do "Cool Vance" and didn't want to show anyone "real Vance." It's what fucked him in the end- Letty felt guilty for being a menace sometimes but didn't stop because everything she had ever done had been for the show. Vance felt too guilty to do anything because all his bad actions were things he credited as himself and all his good actions were his persona.

12 does seem right, I think 8 was the right size for the house they were in but 12 would have saved them from the lull that happened at times where none of the fish felt particularly threatened with an elimination.

Also something interesting from that stream I wanted to highlight, Jet said the rubber snake didn't break the plumbing, but rather the plumber diagnosed a serious issue that would have shut the show down in a matter of days if it hadn't been caught WHILE looking at the rubber snake. And that the camping challenge wasn't planned, it was just what they HAD to do because the plumbing was for real broken. So they went out and got AstroTurf and all the tents and everything about that whole arc only happened because of the fortuitous snake flushing that saved the show.
