I think the contestants are accurate but it wasn't an "announcement" and is still unofficial as far as I know. That said adding it to the OP now probably won't matter.

The website was updated a few months ago to censor words like "nigger". If you write it, it will display something like "gentleman" or "scholar". I think that's pretty funny.

It's also probably because of the name, Cole is typically a male name and the leaked list of characters has the women in the top row and men in the bottom row, although I could see it being short for Nicole.
